Brina Kingston has just lost her job as a corporate spy and her relationship with billionaire Luke Maxwell has ended. Brina believes she has one chance to show Luke how sorry she is for deceiving him, until she discovers it may be too late.
Luke Maxwell is at the top of his game as he is set to reveal his most innovative software creation to date, but none of it matters when all he can think about is Brina. He wants to forgive her for nearly destroying the biggest project of his career, but he soon finds that he may be the one in need of forgiveness.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo grew up in California and has lived in three different countries. She loves to travel and her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills. She is the author of the Shattered Hearts series (Relentless, Pieces of You, Bring Me Home). She is also the author of the popular Luke and Chase series.
I enjoyed Brina sleeping with another man way too much. :P Brina made an attempt to reconcile with Luke 6 weeks after he broke up with her, but finds out that he already has another girlfriend. She is so distraught that she sleeps with Milo. I never liked Milo before, but now I do. The size of his **** makes all the difference. Hahaha, so sad but true. He was also kinda funny. Once he got his pants off he was all confidence. :P
Wow que disparate. 🤣🤣🤣 Esto es peor que mediocre, y pensar en lo permisiva y poco exigente que soy con este tipo de libros... es que no. Aunque sea al ras del suelo, hay que tener estándares. 😌
I started reading this while trying to pick my next read. I have had Part I of the Luke Series: Mirror on my kindle for a while and just clicked on it to read the first few sentences and well, went all the way to the end in one sitting. These are short reads but I purchased the complete series set after the first so it was like a full length novel.
Brina is a Cornell graduate working with NeoSys which is the 2nd best software company . She gets promoted to Competitive Intelligence Officer...AKA....a Spy.
Her assignment is to get the password for "BLAZE", the greatest innovation to hit the industry since the internet. BLAZE is being created by the number 1 company, Maxwell Computers, owned by the young billionaire Luke Maxwell. Brina is applying to be his executive assistant.
Luke isn't dumb, he knows there are people out there trying to steal his software and his programs. I mean come on, he's a giant nerd, HOT NERD but a nerd....he's smart!
Brian and Luke have an instant attraction but do wither of them know if the other is playing the other?
The obvious happens, the fall in love. Brina is faced with telling him the truth and losing everything. Both jobs and the man she has fallen in love with or to go through with the original plan.
Brina had a brother that killed himself 7 months ago and is extremely affected by it. This tragic incident is what draws Brina and Luke together. She isn't the only one holding something back.
Oh, I have to mention Milo....Milo works with Brina at NeoSys. He has had a crush on Brina since they met and well...we find out Milo has a few tricks up his sleeve...in more ways then one...wink wink!!
After the big reveal, things don't go so well....of course...what kind of book would the man just say, "Oh OK I know you love me and its OK that you were trying to steal something I have worked so hard on" NO, too too boring.
Here is were I think I took my .5 stars away. Six weeks after the reveal, BLAZE is being revealed at a conference that Milo helps Brina get into (see Milo rocks) well when she gets there, she sees Luke with a beautiful blond kissing...NOT GOOD. He apparently started dating her as a rebound but his feelings turned more serious for her. She was a good person and beautiful but....She wasn't Brina. I guess I was just like WHAT THE HELL that he could move on that fast. Seriously, you say you loved Brina that much and you just jump in bed with someone else...HUH, no, I think I would have like to see him suffer, kinda like she was.
WELL....The story gets really good after that. They try to become friends and take a "timeout", at first it didn't last a day but then they were determined to show the other that they were serious about one another, that it was just about the sex....Man, did they have a hard time with that one.
The story starts out being told in just Brina's POV but eventually we get to see Luke's POV as well, which I love!!
This series really pulled me in from the start. At first I was kind of like "DAMN GIRL, don;t waste anytime do you?" but then....who wouldn't with a man like that!
You can really feel Brina's pain. She has so much responsibility, I would be in a pickle as well.
Throughout the series, we watch their relationship go from HOT, to UH OH, to OH COME ON ALREADY, to AWWW!! LOL, best way to describe it. Without giving away any spoilers, the ending was great! There is definitely a HAPPY EVER AFTER!!
I really liked how the Author wasted no time. There wasn't any wasted time in this series. Both characters got right to the point. Yes, at times I wanted to scream at Brina and say TELL HIM ALREADY but of course that would be too boring....shoot, even Brian was yelling at herself in the story!
Cassia Leo really knows how to captivate you from the start. Her characters are all likable and real.
As a side note, I want to add something about the Author's Note in the end....
Cassia Leo lets us know that she is no stranger to suicide. She had a fellow classmate jump off a hotel during class across from the school. Her classmate actually survived a little after the jump and was able to tell this woman his name. She mentions how she always wondered how that woman dealt with that. She also had a friend who committed suicide years later and wonders if she could have done something to be a better friend and stop it from happening. This is what made her characters for this story.
I definitely would recommend this to anyone, it had a little bit of everything. I laughed (their banter is hilarious), I cried (poor Brina and her Brother Ryan, and I smiled at their love A LOT!!

Oh god, this part of the story of love between Luke & Brina made my heart leap into my ribs. I know at the start I said they moved fast, well that's an understatement.
When she finally got to see him, working up the courage to talk to him. To find out that he was with someone else. Wow, then it's him that moves really fast. I thought after he found out what Brina was there to do, it was because of that reason was why he was moving things so fast.
Would seem not, would seem that he rushes head first into things. But to plan to move in with someone only a few weeks after starting the relationship, wow that's fast. Poor Olivia will now have a broken heart. Then to just expect Brina to jump his bones at the first sighting. I'm thinking he's a bit unstable.
I love the revenge sex with Milo, that was awesome. I still love the humor injected throughout. At least it was just sex, not lifeling commitment. Now we're at crunch time again, can they work this out, slow things down, or is it going to blow up in their faces.
Please give me my HEA, even though I know there is another book. Well I'm starting book 5 now & hopefully it wont feel too long for this week to go by to get book 6.
Totally awesome!!!!!!! I love that Luke and Briina are finding their way back to each other. Milo is ok but he is kind of sleazy! I am really looking forward to Luke V!!! I have high hopes for this story!!!!
Well, I am totally beside myself. I can't believe Luke was actually going to move in with Olivia...is he nuts? Milo...hmm, seems like another really sweet side showing itself. Glad that Brina finally went to her brothers grave. Now, one month as friends??...on to the next book!!!!
after Luke fires her she is bound and determined to try to talk to him. of course he's already moved on and she ends up hooking up with somebody else. she finally goes and visits her brother's grave which is long overdue.
I bought the whole series as Audiobook. I really shouldn't have. The story is just plain flat (less than mediocre, in fact) and the only thing that makes it "worth reading" (at a stretch) is the book's steam-factor, but to be very honest, even that can't come to the rescue of a crappy book and its crappy storyline lacking in believeability.
And honestly, how real can those characters be? After his break-up with Brina, Luke finds another girl and despite the fact that apparently he keeps thinking about Brina when he’s in bed with the new girl, he still plans to propose. But then, Brina comes to win him back (even though she just spent the night with her ex-archenemy) and Luke is completely pussy-whipped.
This novella represents a 20 minute read (or a 30 mins listen in my case). I am not criticising the length, because I am used to reading novellas but I am also used to reading novellas with an actual enticing storyline.
I respect the fact that other enjoyed this series and this is not me fighting a personal war with Cassia Leo since I had read one of her books before and absolutely loved it! So sorry, but this just didn't cut it for me and I really wouldn't recommend this

Have you ever felt sad or kinda heart broken after reading a good book? I felt like I was the one heartbroken when Luke found out Brina's deceit and broken their relationship. Brina's sadness over the loss of a possible one true love and the overwhelming regret in betraying Luke was dismal. There is so much I like about this book but what I didn't like is how Brina ( regretful, so eager and determined to get Luke back ) could so easily have sex with another man. And I'm bothered how Luke just up and moved on with another woman ( ready to move in together in another city ) in just a span of 4 weeks and just like that, turns around and breaks up with her so he can pursue Brina...mind boggling! a seeming contradiction of how he was portrayed in all the other series. But anyway, all's well that ends well... they made an understanding to start all over again beginning as just friends and see where it would take them. I wish the series ended here, it would have been sweeter and more conceivable!, and that's the reason I gave it a 4 star :)
Things really started to heat up in this part. I wasn't a fan of this book as much as the others because Luke and Brina weren't together and I didn't like rushing into things with others especially Luke. As much as I love Luke, I wanted to hit him so bad cause I didn't get how he can be so stupid but as the book went on I kinda understood. I loved drunken Brina and her interactions with Milo. They were really funny. I didn't like what happened between the two cause of my love for Luke but dang it did Milo hold a surprise. I was very happy that there might be a happy ending and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next! Great series!
I love everything Cassia Leo!!! Brina shows up at Luke’s tech show and sees him with his new woman. Brina runs but he follows her out to the street and stops her but nothing is resolved. She runs back to Milo's car. Milo and Brina end up in bed together, Milo has lusted for her for so long. Luke calls the next morning while she is still at Milo's she agrees to see him and gives him the address across the street from Milo's condo. The attraction is still there between them but she needs time. For the first time she goes to her brother's grave where she finds a red rose and she knows where it came from and then she see Luke. Part 4 of 5 plus Trust ME.
Okay, by chapter 4 I wanted to throw my laptop across the room...the only thing saving it right now is the fact that I NEED to know how this ends... I seriously wanted to strangle Luke in this book...the way he handled things in this book irked me, and just when I thought he was going to royal screw things up he went and did the most perfect thing in the world. Touche Luke...touche...lol.
So far this was the BEST installment of the series, it had so much emotion, and had me in tears...then had me laughing and royally pissed off as well. I would reread this series just for this part of the series.
Is the name of the book Bad Decisions? Both Luke and Brianna made some rather awful decisions. How can someone decide that he wants to start living with a new person in a new house only 3 weeks after meeting each other. And two weeks before meeting that new person Luke was declaring his love for his ex Brianna. WTF people??
And why did Brianna had to have sex with Milo of all people? In the three previous book I didn't even get the feeling that they were that close and suddenly they act like buddies and he takes her out to make her feel better. Unbelievable if you ask me. This is the worst book I have read this month.
Brina Kingston lost everything five weeks ago. When Milo cornered her at Luke's birthday party, Luke found out about her misleading tricky ways. She lost her job and the man she loved. Relentlessly pressed by her friends to face Luke and apologize, she didn't stop to think that he might have moved on. Luke had tried to move on, but his mind had been on the woman he loved from the day he walked away from her. Now as she ran away from him, Luke had to decide if he could forgive her. Could she forgive herself? And were would they go from here? The fourth installment of the Luke series turns more emotional, as the characters face their mistakes and hope for a second chance.
What a hot mess! With Luke and Brina's fallout, Luke has "moved on" with his newest assistant and Brina sleeps with Milo. Apparently, Luke and Brina's love for each other is so great, that they both decided to sleep with other people instead of fighting for each other. I hate crap like this. At one point, I didn't know if this was a romance between L and B anymore. I am not a fan of this storyline.
It's weird to encounter a new-adult book in which the main couple is apart. Not only that, but they are with other people, trying to go on with their lives.
So that's what made this book get two stars instead of one.
Leaving aside that, it's similar to the others. Nearly no character development and no side stories.
The promise Brina and Luke made at the end is nearly ridiculous, so I'll continue reading the series so I can find out if they actually accomplish it.
Finally some angst, this is getting somewhere. WTF is up with this Milo guy? He needs to get sent packing what a shumck. I think that this would have been much better if the build up to the relationship would have taken a bit longer but here we are and if you forget about part one and two and think that they must have been a build up story then you can will yourself into this portion of the lets be freinds now part. Moving on to the next installment.
This book was good, I think it was more like a cat and mouse game. But it was good. A bit less good than the previous one, that's why I'm giving this book three stars.
I would also like to tell you guys that I think it's ridiculous that he's duping Olivia that easily. I think that's kind of stupid, was she nothing to him? This is the one thing that's handlesd too lightly.
One week with Luke Maxwell gets you an "I love you" three weeks you move in together. At the end of the day I should most likely give it more stars because it can't be that bad if I'm going to keep reading it... But that's just because it's not boring- and how can a book that's 50 pages ever get the chance to be boring...
Eeeeeekkkkkk, i seriously love the series, i loved this book specially because is super funny and i love how Milo and Brina steaming moment went down, i love how they refer to Milo in third person!! I had some great laughs!!
This one changed the way it was written, each chapter is a point of view of Brina or Luke. I like it better this way. There were a few mistakes and it seems that they didn't know who was sorry for what and why but over all I liked it a lot.
When she finally got to see him, working up the courage to talk to him. To find out that he was with someone else. Wow, then it's him that moves really fast. I thought after he found out what Brina was there to do, it was because of that reason was why he was moving things so fast.
