After being separated from her friends, Ros strikes out on her own. She has every intention to try and find them, if only she can locate HOME again. If she can find it, will her friends still be there or is she destined to fight to survive in this world alone? Isolation. Desperation. Survival.
Kellee L. Greene is a stay-at-home mom to two super awesome and wonderfully sassy children. She loves to read, draw, and spend time with her family when she's not writing. Writing and having people read her books has been a long time dream of hers and she's excited to write more. Her favorite genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi. Kellee lives in Wisconsin with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
Really didn’t see him coming in to this storyline and then the twist was good and bad. I almost forgave him immediately. Ros and Dean was very walking dead for me.
Better than the last. *Pulls myself out of a puddle of tears* Okay, so I'm going to try and give a review even in my current emotional state and without giving too much away. What a roller-coaster ride of emotions this book put me through. Just as in the last book when things seem okay Kellee throws something at us and things go downhill all over again. I finished this book within 24hrs, telling myself, "just one more chapter" and then starting the next. The whole book was intense and suspenseful, I had no idea what was going on from page one and the author makes it very clear that there is more going on than meets the eye. I would give it more stars if I could and a longer, better review, but for the moment I'm just so heartbroken I'm not sure I can. *thinks about the ending and starts crying* Amazing novel, just like the last. There was one f word and one make out scene which was better than the last. The gore was about the same. Would recommend for 14+. As with the last book I will be diving right into the next with eagerness.
I ended up enjoying this book more than I had enjoyed the first. It may have been partially due to the fact that I now knew the characters a little, and had a better grasp in what was going on (I. E. There was an actual, definable enemy/seeming cause of all the issues, rather than a vague nothingness).. But overall I entered this book knowing the characters and their plight only as much as I would hope to have known them a third of the way through the first book.
The premise was again intriguing, and I found that the author seemed to have managed to find the same voice throughout (which was a solid improvement from the first book!)... And overall, the pace felt more "natural" in this one, almost like the timeline made more sense...
I still found there were many times where the story seemed to "jump", or skip some key information. I also unfortunately found the writing still to be lacking in descriptiveness, although it was very much improved from the first book in many ways. I still found myself confused as to where the story was headed sometimes, as there was still not (until a good ways through) a clear "antagonist".
I continued reading because I had faith that the story would "grow"... Please read reviews of the 3rd book as well.
In the end, I think the story has a lot of potential, and a strong premise. It just lacked some strength in the areas mentioned above.
I was very disappointed in your whiny, cowardly female lead character. She has no redeeming qualities as even her loyalty is questionable, since she doesn't seem to be able to understand her situation and doesn't take into account who might be hurt by her actions. Couldn't you have given her at least some redeeming qualities?
A brilliant book. I was just getting comfortable with it, a very easy read, and wham a huge twist and turn that truly shocked me out of my easy read cocoon. There is a lot happening in this book that I couldn’t have imagined. It’s an excellent read and I recommend reading it.
This series was easily the best I have ever read. I completely fell on love with the characters and continued wanting more. It is filled with lots of conpassion, love, adventure, action, hope, and survival. I read the whole series plus the smaller series in just a few days. I really had trouble putting it down. I am really looking forward to reading more by Kellee L. Greene.
Despite multiple grammatical errors, the story line kept me interested and I wasn't able to put it down. The chapters are short and it reads quickly, I finished the whole book in less than a day. I kind of wish it had lasted longer, but I'd been so ready to read it I kind of devoured it! I'm left craving the next book.
I can't wait for book three to come out!!! ( and more hopefully) Please hurry! Such a page turner....I feel so bad for this small group of survivors and I can't wait for an explanation of what exactly happened and what HOME stands for! A great read!
I stick with my original thoughts, which is this story has teeth in it. They sink in and don't let go, you just need to keep reading to see what is going to happen next. Only a few small editing errors, otherwise this book is perfect for anyone who needs some adventure and mystery in their life.
Finding Home is the second post apocalyptic book in The Ravaged Land series written by author Kellee L. Greene. The storyline is great but the lead character is very annoying.
This a a well written story. You are really able to feel the fear and anxiety of the characters. I am looking forward to the rtf bird book in the series.
A very entertaining read. I am enjoying this series very much. A little disappointed in the story line. Losing another main character stinks but I will read on to the next book and see what happens.
