The women are left to fight for the survival of humanity after the men were killed by aliens who invaded Earth in 2230 A.D. The future is bleak until an alien time travel device is found.

Lieutenant Sunny Blake is a squad leader with a reputation for getting the job done while keeping her team alive. She’s ordered to travel back in time to 2125 A.D. to retrieve one of Earth’s most elite warriors, Lieutenant Jefferson W. Stone, seconds before his death. Stone’s exploits, on and off the battlefield, were memorialized in a tell-all biography and Sunny has a copy of the book.

Stone has two interests…high risk missions and lust-filled nights of pleasure. Wounded and trapped in a canyon he’s shocked when an apparition appears and whisks him away. When he wakes up in the future he’s told he would’ve died that day and he’s given a choice…stay in the future and fight, or return to the past and die. Staying in the future means he’ll be under Sunny’s command when he’d rather have her beneath him in his bed.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I generally love sci fi romance novels. This is my first time reading this author and this novel was a pleasant surprise. The idea that women are fighting to survive an alien invasion and need to time travel to get men to help and repopulate the earth is not a plot I've seen before in this genre. So kudos to the author for an innovative and interesting plot. I liked the heroine, smart and brave and the hero is your typical Arrogant, alpha variety. My only disappointment is that the author did not do more with this story. A reimagined earth with mostly women defining their future deserves more than a few pages of battle and grit.
The minute Stone shows up, Sunny loses her commanding presence and is subjected to Stones sexual prowess, demands and criticism. It progresses with the idea that these women need men to guide and save them instead of an equal partnership. These women who have battled these aliens on their own for years all of sudden as soon as these men show up become submissive and are easily overpowered by them.
This is the beginning of what could be a great series as long as these women realize their own power and strength.

I was left feeling a little disappointed by this book , specially after reading the synopsis .

The idea women in a time in peril discovering the means to time travel and bring male elite warrior heroes from the past forward to help fight off an Alien Invasion appealed to the Sci Fi part of me .

The first part of the book was well written and drew me in but the seemed to peter out , and
the romance was a little wishy washy But that being said I would read more by this Author
in the future .

STONE is the exciting first story in Mardi Maxwell's brand new Sci Fi series A Time to Love. A gripping tale of a future Earth invaded by Aliens and on the brink of extinction sets the stage for this fabulous story of loss, discovery and the revival of hope that has long been forgotten.

After the devastation of invasion has become their reality, the population is reduced to females only when an unknown virus wipes out all male species inhabiting the Earth. While military forces are maintained and a war is waged on the enemy at large, it is obvious the future is bleak with the loss of life due to battles and the dwindling supply of weapons on hand; and with no males to repopulate, optimism is at an all time low. But when scientists discover a way to travel through time and retrieve males from the Earth of old, anticipation of defeating the Aliens is only outweighed by the joy that these strong and independent women may actually experience love and family, which was out of their reach.

A battle-toughened warrior, who fights hard and has a reputation of loving even harder; Stone is everything that Sunny has fantasised about since her 16th birthday and never thought she would have. But while Stone is OK with his rescue and narrow escape from certain death, he’s not looking for a HEA and he’s certainly not willing to follow the rules of some fiery female.

Stone is a fabulous story of an all to scary future world, with strong independent characters; lots of sassy banter and so sexually charged it’s downright combustible! A totally believable concept of what could potentially happen in the Earth’s future, and the desperation of a population to survive and flourish in times of adversity. And let’s not forget how exciting it would be to hand pick from the world’s most elite warriors to replenish your ranks and discover the pleasures of the flesh you have only dreamed about.

Stone’s story was an easy read that grabbed my interest from the very beginning and with so many compelling characters waiting in the wings, I can’t for more from this captivating new series.

I didn't know what to expect when I started reading Stone by Mardi Maxwell, I love a good sci- fi movie but reading this genre is very new to me. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised with how much I really enjoyed this book.

With the invasion of Aliens the world has been wiped out of men and it is up to the woman to find a way to go back in time and retrieve the strongest of men to help fight the aliens and to keep the human race from dying out. Lieutenant Sunny Blake is first to retrieve one of the strongest soldiers there is and that is Lieutenant Jefferson W. Stone, who Sunny has studied from top to bottom. Sunny is the strongest woman that can handle her own on the battlefield but when it comes to Stone, he will infuriate her, break her and wake every sensual feeling she has ever had. Will Sunny be able to handle a man who was known to get around with the ladies in his time? He has a past that could be written in a book.

Jefferson W. Stone the last he knew of himself was that he was on the battlefield in the year 2125. Now he finds himself surrounded by woman, Stone couldn't be happier until he finds out what has happened to Earth. He realizes he is needed and will do everything he can to help the woman survive and find a way to bring back other strong soldiers like him. Stone has a mind set of not falling in love cause that only weakens a soldier, he never expected a woman like Sunny as much as he tries to push her away, he finds it hard to think of her with any other soldier that will be joining them. Will Stone be able to fight side by side with Sunny and not let his feelings get in the way?

Writing this review gets me all giddy cause I really enjoyed these characters. Mardi Maxwell added a perfect mixture of humor, sexiness, sci-fi, suspense and romance that made Stone perfect for me to read. For a sci-fi story it seemed to touch every emotion in me.

Having read the author before, I could wait for Stone to hit my Kindle. I began reading as soon as it hit and didn’t stop until the last page. Hear Hear for a great Sci-fi, time travel romance.

The story takes place in 2230 A.D., a time when aliens have destroyed earth as we know it and in the process killing all males earthlings and leaving the women to fight the aliens. The females also study the aliens that are captured and learn they have a way to go back in time! They devise a plan to go back and get the best male fighters and bring them forward to the present. They pick men for their various skills that are about to die and will leave no family attachments. They will then give these men the the option to live in the future and help them defeat the aliens and re-populate earth or return to their deaths in their own era.

First Lieutenant Jefferson Stone is a one of those guys your mom always warned you about: Tall Gorgeous and thinks he’s God’s Gift to Women but he is also one of history’s most skilled soldiers. Yet he was Lieutenant Sunlyn”Sunny” Blake dream guy despite all the stories about his cocky arrogant prowess! So when the chance to go back in time and bring Stone to their camp, Sunny calls “Dibs”. The story that follows will have you laughing one minute and saying OMG the next! The mission they face is dangerous and involves combining old school and new technology. But one thing seems to always stay the same throughout time; when men and women get together there are sparks, fires and a chance for a HEA. But sometimes they get the sparks, fire and pure agony. 2 Thumbs Up for Stone and this reader is looking forward to reading book 2 in the series.

Sunny and Stone are awesome characters to get to know in this book. Going in to this book the reader needs to realize that it is set in the future so that they better understand the happenings of the book. Sunny is from a time where aliens are running Earth and women are the only humans still in existence. Stone is from 125 years in the past of where Sunny is and is brought in to their time for many different reasons. Together they make an amazing team. The way this book is written really helps the reader to understand exactly what is going on. Ms. Maxwell has done an amazing job with her writing because you are able to picture everything she is talking about. In the beginning I had a hard time getting into this book and that is the only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It seems to drag on in the beginning but as you get further into the book, you get more interested in what is going on. There will be times where there is violence talked about and there are definitely sex scenes in this book, but for a time travel/ future time novel this book is very well written. The different characters that you get to meet in this book are all great and they work really well together and I am glad to see that this is just the first book in this series. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books that will follow after this one. Ms. Maxwell has a new reader in me.

God, how I love a good SIFI book. But add a great romance to that? And you have one hell of a book that I wish had not ended. I cannot wait till the next book comes out. This book stars Lt. Sunny Blake and Lt Jackson Stone. But he’s from over 100years in the past. And sunny has been in love with the idea of him since she was 16. So much so she called dibs on him. Who knew, that when she got older she would not only get to meet him, but go back in time to save his life. But you know what they say about bios? They are not always true, sometimes there worse. Stone is not interested in a forever with a woman. He is in the future with a lot of them. Just one problem they are all virgins. What is he to do? Man this was a hell of a ride. And I’d advise some tissues near the end. I love a writer who can pull on my emotions and man did Mardi do just that. I cried like a baby at one point, I could feel all the pain Stone was in. When a writer is able to do that to me. I will follow her books still she stops writing. Then reread them again. Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.

This is a futuristic /Sci-fi romance. It is set in the year 2230. Earth has been invaded by aliens, and what is left of the human race are living in bunkers. The atmosphere is contaminated and all males ,animal and human are dead.
Lieutenant Sunlyn Blake is one of the soldiers. The council have given her a very special task. To go back in time and rescue elite soldiers just before they die, and bring them into the future.
First Lieutenant Jefferson Stone is pinned down and wounded. His chances of survival are nil. When he wakes up he whole life is changed.
A very good action/adventure, with some laughs along with lots of danger. Our hero is far too full of himself, and incredibly bossy. He is also very sexy. Our heroine is a strong kick ass, independent woman. She will not allow anyone to hurt her. She has suffered enough.
A very entertaining read, and the start of a good series.

There is so much that I loved about Stone. I loved the premise of women fighting to survive and being so strong. I loved the plan of going back in time to rescue men that would not only help repopulate, but also help fight the aliens. I loved Stone. He was so damn cocky, but gave good sweet to his girl too. I loved Sunny even more. She had lost so much with the alien invasion at such a young age, but came through it a warrior. I want more of this series.

I give Stone 4 hearts!
