Whelp.
All I can say is, this was me when thing ENDED AT 34%.

I was really enjoying this, actually.
Dahlia got in an accident and Zane was deliciously torn up about it.
Tangent: I had my doubts about the medical stuff...supposedly they had to cut out about 10% of her brain...now, I'm no neurosurgeon - obviously, but that seems like a LOT of brain, no?
Like I feel like there would be some major effects from losing that much brain matter.
Reagrdless, I was willing to overlook that possible fallacy being that my grovel spank bank was getting some stellar investments.
The wheels feel off the bus for me though when she wakes up from her 7+ month coma...
...and then just hops out of bed and to surprise Zane at a concert...
...and he is supposedly able to calmly play an entire show - which was also super fucking dumb - after seeing her awake for the first time in months, when he wasn't sure she would ever wake up?
Yeah...no.

What an incredible ending to this wonderfully written duet.
Zane and Dahlia continue their love affair. She is fulfilling her month requirement of “being his” in exchange for rescuing her sister from human traffickers. The lines of obligation and enjoyment are becoming blurred when there is a tragic turn that I was not expecting at all.
Georgia Le Carre is truly a talented author. This duet is well written and attention grabbing. It had twists that were totally surprising throughout and the steam level is scorching hot. I cannot wait to dig deeper into her catalog of books. I highly recommend this book especially for those that like a dark anti-hero.

Georgia Le Carre delivered an intriguing second installment filled with steam, intrigue, action and suspense that held my attention from start to finish. I really enjoy this author’s writing, so simple, yet so eloquent and also her characters that are endearing and vividly portrayed every time. And trust me when I say that Zane and Dahlia were exactly that and more. I liked both of them in the first installment, but I loved them here. This second installment picks up right where the previous installment ended.
In the previous installment Dahlia found out what Zane did to have her in his live. Her anger doesn’t last much, because in some way she understands Zane reasoning. She’s falling for him hard and fast and all she wants is for Zane to love her back, because now that she knows what it means to be Zane’s woman she wants all of him. She doesn’t want to be just a body he uses for his pleasure, she wants to be his companion, his confidante, the woman he loves.
Zane is reluctant to open up about his past, at least at first, but Dahlia is determined to make him realize that she really cares about him and together they can be more…that he can be more than just a Russian mobster.
I really enjoyed this one! To be honest I’ve expected the story to be more agsty, but I’m glad it wasn’t since the suspense and drama make up for it. The story was intriguing and the romance between Zane and Dahlia was beautifully written and so heartwarming at times. The story was really emotional at times and I loved the sweet and tender moments between these characters, but what I really loved was the steam aspect. Zane and Dahlia’s connection and passion are fantastically done, palpable and the sex scenes between them were so hot as hell.
I loved Zane in this second installment. He’s sexy and powerful, commanding and possessive and so very good for our heroine. I loved the way he was with her in and out of bed and how as the story unfolded he started to trust and accept Dahlia and also accept the fact that she’s the perfect woman for him.
Overall, a wonderful conclusion to Zane and Dahlia’s story!

This is book two in this series and it is a continuation of the first book. The story is the conclusion to Zane and Dahlia ‘s relationship and I was happily surprised to read a much more in depth storyline than in the first book! We got a closer look into Zane’s childhood, and more understanding of why he is the way he is!
This instalment had very explosive sex; but it was way more focused on character development than the sex this time! ( the sex that was part of the story was smokin hot and graphic... so no complaints from me in that department!!!)
All in all this was such a great read! My drop of a star came because the story stopped at 34%, and that is a huge pet peeve of mine..

5 emotionally beautiful stars
Simply BEAUTIFUL story... I am taken by it and surprised...
I didn't quite expect this level of emotional engagement, but it worked perfectly for me.
Zane and Dahlia - the continuation of the passion... *sigh*
The story in the second installment continues with the following of Zane and Dahlia's lives. The constant here is the presence of lingering feelings Dahlia has developed towards Zane, who is still reluctant to open up, to let her in. He's still confined by the cruel and dangerous frames of the mafia world cause it's his domain, his choice of existing but not actually living.
„I really meant it when I said I'd rather die a violent death as a lion then live forever as a rat in a sever.“
But Dahlia slowly enters his closed up shell giving him the chance of a difference, making a difference, a chance for a change!
„I know you said you didn't have a choice to enter this brutal world, but you have a choice now. You can stop. You can walk from this life.“
Dahlia shows him the alternative, the power that we all have in our hands, of making it count, taking the responsibility of your own actions…
„Even if the whole world is violent. Even if the very government we look upon as our protectors is violent, I never want to use that as a justification for my own violence.“
Zane and Dahlia slowly grew into each other, even when Zane's horrid past is revealed to us through flashbacks of childhood memories and are a crucial segment for the understanding and getting the full picture of a complex, dark yet beautiful man, Dahlia falls even deeper...

MY THOUGHTS:
I enjoyed hearing more from Zane’s prospective in this second instalment. His heart-breaking past is revealed through flash backs and you gain a better understanding behind his motives, the. Zane evolves so much throughout the story as his love for Dahlia grow stronger he become softer, more open
I have to mention I am not sure how medically or scientifically accurate the diagnosis and recovery of Dahlia was as it seemed unrealistic and awfully intense, but I reminded that this is fiction and anything is a possibility in the realms of one’s imagination.
There is such a beautiful message about second chances within this love story. Telling us that it is never too late to make a change. That if we are willing to make the necessary sacrifices we can see To cherish the one’s we love and value them in our lives. I just Loved the epilogue what a great HEA.

I really enjoyed the first book, I found the first book really steamy and intriguing. I’m also crazy and love cliffys, so I was really happy to finally get my hands on book 2.
I have to say, I felt like the tone of the book shifted in this book and it was less steamy and kind of filled with fluff. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad book, it just didn’t seem like a lot was going on that I found interesting.
We get to heart of Zane and why he is so closed off. The book has some flash back scenes and with those we get a better understanding him. At first I was fine with these because I wanted to know how Zane became the man he is today, but eventually after a while, I didn’t care about the flashbacks anymore, it just seemed like the same thing over and over again. I think some of this could have been edited out.
I enjoyed the scenes with Dahlia and Zane of course. I wanted the steam and I wanted the tension. I loved her trying to get to know him. I wanted Zane to be a little meaner or something, but it seemed like they hanged out a lot. I waver back and forth if this was good or bad. Maybe I needed a little more, but I did enjoy reading them.
Towards the end the book shifts again and I’m not sure why this happened. I felt like it was so fluffy. I got different POV’s, like Stella’s? What’s the point? I don’t think it was needed and it was just adding page numbers to the book in my opinion. I tried to tell myself it was to help build-up the storyline but overall, I found it boring and I started to skim.
Overall, this book didn’t seem to keep with the tone and pace as the original book. It’s as if there wasn’t much left to say for the storyline and the fluff was added. I really did wish the book focused more on the main characters than all the other added stuff, like hanging out with friends and house maids and what they thought of the relationship.
I still enjoy the author’s reading and I hope she writes more books like the first one.

What an emotional conclusion to this story.The first part,the reader gets into what made Zane into the man/child he was and the man he became.A kind and loving mother murdered by her crazy husband ,and a young child killing his own father after he saw what his father had done to his mother.The love of the piano and music becomes a refuge for him .
The story immediately picks up where the last left off when Zane admits that the kiddnapping of her sister Daisy was a ploy to get Dahlia all his own.
From here on you see the progression of the relationship and a more softer version of Zane is seen.Then tradgey happens to Dahlia and she is injured in a bomb blast meant for Zane and left in a comatose state for a year.The devastation that Zane feels during this time period just about broke my heart and I kept on reading and reading with a lump in my throught.
The scene when Dahlia finally awakens was wrenching to me.There was the hard to believe scene when hours after waking up,she attends the concert that Zane is performing for the first time and the first intimate scene after awakening,but what the heck,I went with it.

OH WOW!
it was great really all the story and plot was there, it was great!
But I just couldn't really be sucked in the story, there was something missing, but i cant really wrap my finger around it :/

I loved this story and I loved the ending even more. I enjoyed both Zane’s and Dahlia's characters and I loved the emotion that the author was able to evoke throughout the story.
The plot is dramatic and the love story is hot and steamy. I definitely recommend this series. This is the second, and last, book and it was a fantastic read. The story line contains many different parts, suspenseful bits and very steamy sex scenes mixed with some danger.
While the sex scenes are not as dark, they are certainly more intense. Each leading character has to deal with the new emotions they are feeling for one another. The story has a lot of danger and excitement due to an enemy and more about Zane and Dahlia's interaction.
Zane is a sexy, strong, commanding, powerful man. He turns up the heat, and pushes the limits of Dahlia’s body and soul to the point of sweetest agony. They are so wrong for each other…and yet so right. Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away.
This is an intense, raw and passionate story about two people who need something that the other can give: Trust, acceptance and unconditional love. It’s about people who are willing to put themselves out there to help others that need it, even if they don't want to believe that goodness does exist in a world that can feel black and blue. The author does a superb job with their backgrounds and story development to lure you in. More than the tension, though, there is also a gradual build to the relationship between them.
There are several threads running through this book at once, which is just one of the reasons that I loved this story so much. It’s also told in multiple POVs, which I absolutely liked. This is another amazing read by Georgia Le Carre. It kept me hooked from the moment that I started reading. This book needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that it is.

The plot is dramatic and the love story is hot and steamy. I definitely recommend this series. This is the second, and last, book and it was a fantastic read. The story line contains many different parts, suspenseful bits and very steamy sex scenes mixed with some danger.
While the sex scenes are not as dark, they are certainly more intense. Each leading character has to deal with the new emotions they are feeling for one another. The story has a lot of danger and excitement due to an enemy and more about Zane and Dahlia's interaction.
Zane is a sexy, strong, commanding, powerful man. He turns up the heat, and pushes the limits of Dahlia’s body and soul to the point of sweetest agony. They are so wrong for each other…and yet so right. Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away.
This is an intense, raw and passionate story about two people who need something that the other can give: Trust, acceptance and unconditional love. It’s about people who are willing to put themselves out there to help others that need it, even if they don't want to believe that goodness does exist in a world that can feel black and blue. The author does a superb job with their backgrounds and story development to lure you in. More than the tension, though, there is also a gradual build to the relationship between them.
There are several threads running through this book at once, which is just one of the reasons that I loved this story so much. It’s also told in multiple POVs, which I absolutely liked. This is another amazing read by Georgia Le Carre. It kept me hooked from the moment that I started reading. This book needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that it is.

This was the best book I've read from Georgia Le Carre to date!! No. Question.
There was so much going on in this book and yet the plot remained fluid. Each transition between POVs was done so smoothly. I'm not sure everything in the book was accurate (at least medically or scientifically), however, the way the story was written... WHO CARES???
I believe my favourite part of this book was getting to see so much from Zane's perspective. I not only got to witness his cunning and his intellect, but I got to see his pain and his joy. But best of all, I saw this character EVOLVE , which I think is extremely important in any story. I loved every bit of that. I honestly didn't think, from book 1, that my heart would willingly welcome him in, but it received him with open arms. He was shown as incredibly strong, loyal, steadfast and beautiful. His soul... getting pieces of his history... the heartbreak... I just really loved this character and I loved that I got to bear witness to the strength and devotion of his love for Dahlia.
This couple was truly amazing. The author pulled their story off beautifully and I couldn't be happier for their HEA.

The title of these books are very misleading because short of raping her mother Dahlia would be at Zane's beck and call forever. He already . He had a bad childhood, so it's all forgiven. His abusive childhood is laid on real thick right from the start of this book. Obviously it's supposed to make me like Zane more, but it doesn't. I don't mind it when a woman submits to her man occasionally, but there's a difference between submitting during sex and being a complete doormat. Just so you know, Dahlia is the latter.

You Don't Own Me is such a hard book to review. It is not an easy read. It is dark and very emotional at times but also a beautiful and passionate story. My favorite thing about this series is the unforgettable characters. I absolutely loved them. Zane is a crazy OTT anti-hero that is not easy to love especially in book 1 . He was so guarded in the first book and it was nice to see him slowly let his guard down. After reading about his childhood you understand why he has walls up. Dahlia is a fantastic heroine. I loved that she never gave up on Zane. There is also a awesome bunch of secondary characters and I really hope the author writes a story about Noah.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a extremely hot dark romance.

Loved this book!
I loved this second book of Dahlia and Zane. Like the first book there was the POV out both Dahli and Zane, but in the first book, it was mostly Dahlia's POV. In this book we get more from Zane especially from his party and why he is so closed off emotionally. I loved how he changes throughout the book.

This was fantastic. I was reading the last 1/4 of it while in the hair salon today and had to stop because my lip started quivering and my eyes started to fill up.
This was a gripping tale. Zane was deeeeeelicious.

Damn! I'm so glad I didn't skip this one. I didn't really connect with the characters in the first book but somehow they come alive in the 2nd book. I love watching the development of Dahlia & Zane's relationship. Their little weekend getaway to Italy sounds so romantic, it's what any girl wants. The pace of the story escalates quickly after the accident happened. Suddenly I found myself not wanting the story to end so quickly. I really like how the ending is wrapped up *off to do a happy-girl dance*

It actually started meh for me as I had hard time grasping my feelings for Dahlia Fury because I ended Book 1 with not so good feelings with her. She was something though as she worms her way to my heart as the story picks up and she became so endearing.

What I love about this book is that it is so raw and passionate. Zane just exudes danger that you wanted to be a part of it. I also love how this story leads me. I didn’t see it coming and the unpredictability of it was what I love the most.

Georgia Le Carre’s books always leave something for me. It’s one of those that I can’t wait to read mainly because I wanted to know what song would be part of a chapter and they are finds that I treasure the most.
However, as this book is as beautiful as how it touched me, it always left me grasping for words to write and organize my thoughts. I always had a hard time of expressing my feels for it.
I always left my review of how I perceive the book, and this one for me is all about showing our appreciation to those around us. Some may had a hard time of it mainly because they weren’t accustom to it but sometimes life takes on a turn so unexpected.

That right there is why I will read any story by this marvellous author. I know without a doubt I will be captivated, entertained and left an emotional wreck by the content of those pages. The term book hangover was created after reading a Georgia Le Carre story!

Spoiler Ahead This was book two in the "You Don't Own Me Series" and a good end to a good series. Zane is a sexy Russian Mob boss who is afraid to admit that he was in love with the pretty American girl Dahlia Fury whose sister he kidnapped in the first book. In this book we get to read about Zane's past and how he grew up with an abusive father and a mother who tried to protect him and blamed a head wound for him being the way he was and how his father killed his mother. We also see where Zane begins to soft toward her because she didn't run Dahlia knew who he was and what he did for a living. The book also talked about her best friend and all her dramatics. When Dahlia was hurt in the bomb I think that may have broken something in Zane or maybe it was the thought of losing her before she was hurt she gave one of Stella's clients some music that Zane wrote turns out it was a symphony and it was good. I also liked that Zane stepped up and took care of her while she was in the coma. This book was like the first book with another book at the end and although that was ok it was the same book that was in the first book. This book was well written like the first book with no errors in grammar or spelling. This book was a little darker than the first one. I liked the epilogue but I wanted to know how he got out of the mob. If you like reading mob books with hot sex scenes than I recommend that you read this series. I am looking forward to reading about Noah one of Zane's former lieutenant's.

Fuck it had me hot, then I'm crying and next I couldn't breath! I left emotionally distraught.
Fucken Brillant!!!!! Perfect conclusion even if I want to kill after that whole ordeal!

While I enjoyed the previous book 'You don't own me 1' the fact that it ended at 39% kind of threw me a bit, I wasn't expecting that at all but this time I was ready and while I didn't expect this book to run to the end it's still a bit disconcerting when a book which appears so long (over 600 pages) ends at 35% again.
Anyway filler aside this was a nice if somewhat far-fetched Mills & Boon type read.
I enjoyed this half of the book and yes I know I'm moaning but I'm not a fan of books being split especially in this case where other books are used as filler to pad it out and make it appear longer.

I really enjoyed this series and thought the author did a great job developing her characters. I loved the links to YouTube videos too, never saw that in any books that I read. There were a few twists throughout that I didn’t see coming. This story had me hooked! 👍🏽

A fantastic ending. I read till I was finished. The only gripe I have is that the author should have taken parts one and two and just made a single book. You buy the book thinking it is going to be the whole book and it's not. Any who.....stepping off my soap box.
I LOVED this story. Great, powerful, sexy, dramatic read. The characters were great and pulled you in. Zane's backstory was heartbreaking! Dahlia stayed by her man and he returned the favor. Zane's transformation was touching and well deserved on his part. Daisy and her theory of Karma holds up!
The drama was high and I truly wasn't sure what was going to happen. Dahlia's friends were so wonderful and helped the story along! I adore this author and I will read more of her stuff!

Zane just became the biggest annoying Hero. This book was based on a BIG lack of communication and the reason was dumb as heck!! I just wanted to kick him. This book could take the award for Biggest annoying jerk! The first book was good though. This book might be good, I may have been too annoyed to to know for sure.
