Haiku is an art in and by itself. It surprises because it packs so much under the calm, apparently easy, normal “wrap.” Writing pages and pages of prose or stanzas is more than enough to deliver a message, to express an idea. Presenting a complete idea in a few words, in less than seventeen interpretable syllables isn’t impossible, but it presents a challenge – a fascinating one that can’t be ignored – more so since its understanding is personal and vastly different from reader to reader, subjective to experience, environment and moment of the lecture.
