Alien Mates #2

Rylan's Heart

Rate this book
After enduring years of abuse from the vicious Sudir, Rylan is an empty shell of his former self. He has blocked his bothers and others of his kind from being able to touch his minds or the powerful abilities that reside within. Each day the mental link to what keeps him whole grows thinner.

Aviana’s perfectly average life is turned upside down when the Sudir target her daughter. Fighting to save them both, she discovers Earth is the new battleground for an old war, and if she has any hope of surviving, she must choose a side.

Rylan has grown cold and as distant as the destroyed planet he once called home, but Aviana’s spirit wakes a primal awareness in him and begins healing the worst of his scars. As they square off against their mutual enemy, Rylan and Aviana discover they work better as a team. One he would like to make permanent…if they survive.

Very good story.

I really liked the way Rylan and Avians learned to accept what happened to them when they were young and realized how it helped to shape and strengthen their character. They were a strong couple that loved family and friends fiercely.

One thing really irritated me, though. That was the editing and proof reading done on the book. Words were used in the wrong tense or in the wrong place in a sentence. There is a difference in meaning of the words their and there or lay and lie. Some words were with no rhyme or reason. This makes reading and understanding really difficult and takes away from the pleasure of reading a great story.
