About the author

Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.

Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.

Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.

I DIDN'T like any character. I am appalled by how many good reviews the book has, everyone is morally bankrupt and I had no one to root for. Not to mention the action was unbelievable, these jokers would have long since been arrested and sent to prison, their criminal activities are not slick and they would definitely have been caught. I was waiting for there to be a reASON TO be torn between goon and gangsta (not even sure who is the goon or the gangsta) but really she needs to leave both these dipshits alone.

If I wouldn't have been told that Jade Jones was a new author than there was no way that I could tell. Every book that I've read by her has been a 5 star read. This book was a page turner from the very beginning to the end. The twist that came at the end had me completely stunned. I didn't see it coming at all. I'm not sure what to expect out of part two but I look forward to reading it.

Story of how unthought out actions can end up very bad. Follow Hassan, Dre, and Nikki as they fo from childhood into adulthood trying to find their way.....and making life altering decisions along the way.

Story line was good. You can not trust anyone even if you known them for a long time.

OMG Torn Between a Goon and Gangsta

Dre , Nikki, and Hassan were thick as thief they robbed banks and convenience store that all knew. The last robbery Nikki got shot by a security guard and could have died if it wasn't for the bullet proof vest that a Dre save her life. Dre and Nikki was in a 2 year relationship she loved him he loved her in his own way. Hassan were friends for years she stayed with Hassan and his family when her mother died they treated her like family she had a strong connection with Hassan it was nothing going on between they were best friend. Her loyalty was to Dre he was her high school sweetheart her first love her everything. Dre was aggressive and hard life growing up he lives the thug live possessive and controlling boyfriend he a hustler and thief. Hassan is the opposite of his best friend Dre he laid sensitive and charismatic he liked Nikki first he was to shy to approach her so Dre initiative and approach her and ended up with Nikki. Secretly Hassan was in love with his best friend girlfriend and best friend but he stayed neutral because she was in love with Dre she loves Hassan as a brother. Hassan went to the store Nikki ask could he buy her a pregnancy test. He was distracted walking home from the store was robbed at gunpoint he told thief he didn't have any money him the assailant fought over the gun he was shot in the stomach and left for dead. Nikki instinct told her something was wrong she was worried about Hassan her best friend she told Dre something was wrong to come with her to see what was taken Hassan so long the heard ambulance and police siren. Nikki ran thru the crowd to see how was shoot it was so much blood on the ground they fear the truth. They drove to hospital to see is Hassan was good they couldn't get any information from the nursing staff at the emergency room they were given a hard time they went home came back the next morning. Careem Hassan brother ask where was Dre and Nikki why didn't have his back he underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments from is stomach. In walk Dre and Nikki was worried sick and rushed in to see if he was good he would have to stay in the hospital for about 2 weeks. Careem couldn't stand Dre because he slept with his baby mommas years ago he tolerant him on the strength of his brother and also he brought stuff from him. Dre leaves the room he to holla at him heard the tail end of Careem conversation he and Hassan was discussing. Hassan was going tell Nikki he had feelings for before he could tell Dre back in the room he holds his tongue she was confused on what he was going to tell him she was really concerned about his injuries. Hassan meanwhile has been harboring feelings and love for for years and didn't want to ruin their friendship connection they had. Hassan was finally released from hospital still sore. Meanwhile Dre the love her life is cheating on Nikki with her cousin Adorable for 6 months secretly pumping her information about a judge he planning to robbed he has watching his every move for weeks. Dre ask Nikki would aid him this home evasion he planning he couldn't pull off with out Hassan and Nikki help. Nikki is tried of robbing and putting her life on the line for a little bit of money. Her and Dre has a huge argument and stormy out of the house and of staying out all night ended of with her cousin he wouldn't answer his phone she was behind pisseed because she refused his request to do the home evasion. She was worried about where he was and who he was with. She was tried of the hustle and the pregnancy scare and getting shot in the last robbery. So Hassan and Nikki went to the club Maceo Birthday party he the one who supplies the with guns. Hassan is watching Nikki dance with all the guys dancing with her he pissed and jealous he watching her intently his Careem up to his brother asking why Hassan is starting at Dre girl so hard he plays it off tells his brother it not like that they were great best friend. Careem told him he was looking at her like he was attracted to her and want to be more then a friend. A pretty brown skin sister asking him to buy her drink reply and buys a drink her name is Fiona she ask did he want to sit in VIP section to get to know him better Nikki looks over see him taking to another woman she jealous and can't explain why she look at him and start let some random dude start touching her so he in turn did the same thing a Fiona grab his hand took him to VIP and rock his world. Meanwhile Dre is at Adorable house Nikki cousin because Dre keeps calling Nikki and Hassan phone wondering about why know one answer their phones. Adorable tells him about the party Maceo Birthday Party and also Burt out about Nikki pregnancy scare he missed off because she didn't tell him she also wanted to start between him and Nikki. He gets up and start getting dressed and goes to find her and Hassan at the club. He walks and see another men dancing and touching all over his girlfriend. He livid he see red he has a very teme

I listened to Torn Between a Goon and a Gangster on Audible. Thank you Jade for the code I even got the book for free. What is the difference between a Goon and a Gangster?
Goon: a bully or thug, especially on hired to terrorize or do away with opposition.
Gangster: a member or a gang of violent criminals.
I enjoyed this book as I have enjoyed any other books by Jade Jones. Nikki, Dre and Hassan. Nikki and Hassan have been friends since childhood and his family took Nikki in and helped take care of her. Nikki thinks of Hassan as family but Hassan has feelings for Nikki that are a little different that the typical family relationship. Dre is Hassan best friend and Nikki boyfriend.
For a living they scheme and rob banks and anywhere else they can come up with the bag. In the book they also try to figure out where the loyalty lies. Will they be able to continue their life as the trio of bandits that they have been all staying happy and 3000 with each other? Will Hassan feeling about Nikki come out? Will Dre continue to love Nikki the way that he does? I think you will be curious to find out what happens It'll be worth the ride.

For the first few pages I was fooled into thinking this book could be different in the genre. But then too quickly the grammar and editing implode upon themselves. (There is a difference between 'a part' and 'apart'.)

Nikki, Dre and Hassan Chop are three thieves living together. I don't want to call them professionals as that would be an insult to the criminal underworld. What they are are morons who keep making terrible choices. If Nikki is so afraid of an unwanted pregnancy, why isn't she utilizing birth control? It's not rocket science. If the gang is so afraid of getting caught by the cops, why do they continue to leave their hide out and walk around out in the open? While I will admit the ending was a surprise for me, it's a case of too little too late to save the story.

By the way, I don't have any street cred. Can someone tell me which one was the goon and which was the gangsta?

Must Read!!!!

Dre claim Nikki was his lifeline and his backbone but yet he was betraying her. He claimed to love Nikki but a man that love's a woman. Would not have his woman out here pulling licks and putting her in harms way. Adorable was scandalous. Smiling and grinning in Nikki face but doing her dirty behind her back. When Nikki found out what Dre was up to. After she snapped. She should've kept it moving and left him alone. Her revenge shouldn't have included Hassan. Hassan feelings for Nikki were shown from the beginning which lead be to believe that he had the potential to be a snake since he knew she was off limit's. Hassan listening to Careem hating ass had him doing the unthinkable but his plan may have backfire on him

This book is a very good read..literally I didn't want to stop reading. The detailed scenes that the author wrote was good. Being able to visualize the characters helped me feel as if I was connected to the story. The plot was very good..she made it tie all together for some of the questions that was confusing at the begging...ready for the next part.

"Schemin'" by Jade Jones was some good read. This read was truly of 'Drama, Action, Betrayal,' murder, loyalty, lies and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat as I set continually reading not stopping till the end. "Schemin" was one of those novels that you definitely learned from...never to trust no one leaving you speechless at the very end and saying 'What the hell just happened!' This title "Schemin'" definitely describes this read about these three friends...Hasaan, Dre and Nikki. With all of the scheming that was going on in this read ...being somewhat crazy and complicated ...again that will only keep you interested to see just what was going to happen next. I liked the way this author developed each character and even their names were well portrayed.. from Hasaan, Dre, Nikki, Adorable, Careem and Maceo. Now, what is up with a 'Home Robbery?' Now this is where You must pick up "Schemin'" to see just what this author has in store for the reader(s). Just who all will survive on this ride? Again, pick up the good read to find out! As I was reading "Schemin'" I was left thinking at the end of this novel what a imagination this author has..Wow! and when will her next book be ready for us to read.

I found "Schemin'" was fast paced, a page turner that deals with a lots of issues that will kept your interest till the end..and yes, I would recommend "Schemin'" to you as a excellent read.

Wow! This book was excellent. From the FIRST SENTENCE, the book grabs you. Action packed! The main female character, Nikita, is as gangster as any man. She can rob with the best of them. Then, there is her man, Dre, he was stupid gangster and her male best friend, Hassan, was the cool but deadly one. After pulling off a job and not getting a lot, they decide to pull another job and another job. Meanwhile, best friends start screwing, boyfriend got caught screwing and in the end. Someone gets shot!

I love this book. This was a quick read but not too quick. This author writes short stories but they are just long enough. She gives you good information about the characters and writes the story. There is no long, drawn out descriptions. If you want a good book that is not long but interesting and action packed, this is your author. Her books are very reasonable, sometimes free. A lot of authors will sell their part #1 book for .99 or free, but part #2 is 10.00 to 15.00. What I love about this author is that she draws you in with a free or .99 part #1 and the part #2 is very inexpensive, like 2.99 so you don't mind buying it.

I did not find any spelling errors, the book was action packed FROM THE VERY BEGINNING and easy to follow. There is a part #2 to this book that I will be reading!!!

Schemin' was an awesome book. Jade Jones opened the book up with a bang that gave me a rush! This story about three friends who robbed and schemed others for their own financial gain, kept my interest throughout the entire book. Niki, Dre and Hasson had been friends for years. Dre and Nikki had been dating for a few years but Hasson also had his own personal feelings for Nikki. The three friends appeared to be very close until Nikki discovered that Dre, had been disloyal to her and this caused her to react and display feelings that she had deep down inside for Hasson. Schemin' was full of drama and deceit but the twist at the end of the book blew me away and I can't wait to read part 2.

Schemin' by Jade Jones is a excellent and great book to read. Once again, Jade Jones did a good job. I enjoyed reading this book because I like the concept and vibe for this book. This book is well-written and it is never disappointed to me.

Like:
Hassan is a good man to Nikki. He is never disrespect to her and he is a good friend to her.

Dislike:
Nikki is a selfish and dumb. Dre is not a good man to Nikki because he cheated on her with her cousin and he loves to controlling Nikki's life. Nikki is love-blinded. She should listen to Hassan about Dre.

So far, I like this book because I can't put this book down. I am looking forward to read part 2 of Schemin' from this author. This book and author deserve five stars.

Another great read! This suspenseful tale kept my attention from page 1 until the end! The dangerous schemes that Dre, Nikki & Hassan committed clearly showed that despite the risk, they lacked concern they could get caught again. Their impulsive behaviors seemed to keep their fear levels to a minimal while also creating havoc. Once Nikki finds out about Dre's disloyalty, it almost separates the team. The love & need for money allowed them to put their differences aside to complete what could be their largest scheme ever. In the end, a new unexpected partner changes the entire game plan. Definitely a page turner and looking forward to reading the next part

I am a virgin when it comes to a Jade Jones read. Since i seen on Facebook that this book was free i figured what the heck. If i don't like it at least i didn't pay for it. Well as soon as i entered the world of Nikki, Hassan, and Dre i was hooked. From the ending of the first chapter I had already decided what team i was on (no spoiler the title already says shes torn between the two.) While reading I constantly would think ok which one do i think is the goon and whos the thug. Well by the end of the book i definitely knew who was what. Mouth dropping book. Will definitely be purchasing part two. And i will also be purchasing other authors under Jaded publications
