“Let me obliterate each and every last beast that’s holding that beautiful mind captive, Giselle.”

It’s no secret Detective Mike Thatcher wasn’t a fan of the blood drinkers. They stole his life, his woman, his future when they kidnapped his college sweetheart. So of course Fate paired him with the one thing he’d spent the past eleven years hating…a vampire. But Giselle isn't just any vampire. She’s seduction, sin, strength and fragility all wrapped into one ice-cold package.

“That could take a lot of time. I have a lot of demons.”

Giselle has reasons for her sandpaper exterior, but they’re hers and hers alone. Then along came the one male she never wanted. Her Fated. Mike changed her in ways she didn’t like. He made her soft. He made her care. The gorgeous asshole made her feel, goddammit. And he’s just made it clear the running is over. Letting love in would prove to be the biggest challenge she’d ever faced.

But as Mike lets the past go, can Giselle do the same? Can she bare her soul? Show her shame? Just as Giselle stops fighting the inevitable, her entire world doesn’t only shift on its axis…it falls the fuck off.

THIS IS NOT A STANDALONE. This is a novella in the Regent Vampire Lords series that picks up on Mike and Giselle's relationship toward the end of Reawakening. To understand their back story, you MUST read the series in order, starting with Surrendering.

This book is by far my favorite one in the series!!!! This book brought me to tears because of how much these two characters have been through to come out loved and cherished in the end.

Giselle is one bada$$ vampire that has been through so much that it didn't surprise me when you saw how broken she really was. She had one hell of an upbringing. She didn't know how to trust anyone and even know how to love in return. Her demons shined their ugly head daily. She knew Mike would be her saving grace along with the two "brothers" that loved and cared for her. But it was Mike who wouldn't give up. He kept pushing her to help break her emotional turmoil. She loved him right back but so afraid to give in. Giselle's story is heartbreaking. But you can help to love the bada$$ of her. I kept routing for her throughout the book. Loved her in this book. She is by far my favorite character out of any book I have ever read..

Mike is a detective that has helped the Regent Vampires in solving missing woman cases. He had lost the love of his life when she went missing. But he didn't know love could be so strong until he met Giselle. You see the spark between Giselle and Mike in the previous books. He doesn't give up on Giselle, which is what she needs. She needs someone to not give up and keeps pushing her in the right direction. Giselle is known to run the second she gets a chance. But Mike is there to bring her back. :-)

This book is an excellent 5 Star read for me!!
You will see a repeat of characters from the previous books in Evading. This can be a stand-alone read. But to fully understand the bond between some of the characters, its best if you read the other books in the series.

5 Stars for a very well written tearjeakering hell of a ride!!!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. We have gotten to see glimpses of Mike and Giselle throughout the first 3 books in the series, but this one is almost solely focused on them. To watch their relationship evolve and to see Giselle stop "evading" Mike and her problems was so fulfilling. I was so happy to see her let her guard down and show her softer side. What's that? A softer side of Giselle? Yes, you heard me. Lol. It was incredible. We also get to see Mike turn into a total badass!

There are twists and turns that you won't believe along the way. We learn more about what happened to Giselle all those years ago to turn her into the person she is today. It was heartbreaking hearing all the horrible things that happened to her, but watching her grow and come out of her shell was so fulfilling.

Now let's discuss the heat factor. It was hotter than a habanero pepper. Yowza. Do completely satisfying on every level. Once she let's Mike in completely and they start having hot monkey sex you will have to change those panties repeatedly.

This book is the 4 the book in this series and in order to understand completely what is going on you will need to read the first 3 books first.

Reading Evading, I was lost in a tumultuous sea of emotion and I wasn't sure I wouldn't drown. This is my absolute favorite installment of Krieg's Vamp series.

Now, I love Mike. I always have. Who wouldn't love a smart, devoted, strong, fierce man? This chick does, for sure. So I was excited to get his story. I mean, shit, the man deserved a HEA. But in Evading Mike became more than a BBF to me. He was a fucking HERO. Not Hero, HERO. ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. He saved himself, he saved Giselle, he brought closure to those desperate for it. But back to the saving Giselle thing... omigosh I can't even tell you! I mean, I really can't because spoilers, duh! but his passionate, honest attempt to win Giselle over was heart-wrenching. He laid it all out there, no holding back, no question in his mind, and she well, she was about as receptive as you would expect her to be. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

But, BUT her story, the reason behind her reaction killed me a little bit. Okay, more than a little bit. Picture this:

The dear, sweet blogger was glued to the blue glow of her kindle page after page, completely engrossed in the story before her. The blogger's husband is getting ready for bed, unaware that on the other side of the door, his poor wife was choking on unshed tears. She doesn't want to alarm him, but each word pierces her soul and etches Mike and Giselle's journey on her heart. The heart that is breaking into a million pieces.

See that? That's what happened.

Giselle is one hell of a female (I can't really say woman, being a vampire). She's strong, fierce, passionate, badass, and determined. But she's also fragile, unsure of herself, and afraid. I love her! I. Love. Her. The struggle within her is one that many of us wrestle with. Betrayal from people that are supposed to protect and love us is one of the more difficult things to accept, face, and work through. But Giselle does it. Well, Mike drags her through it, because he is unwilling to lose her to the demons of her past, but Giselle does the hard work.

Read this. Just fucking read it. After you read the first three, of course.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

What?? HUH!! No ore books yet…uhm not acceptable. *Starts a chants* Need more books!!

Man, Mike you are one kick a$$, patient male to push Giselle/Elle so hard to get her heart to crack open and finally SEE what she has in front of her. You pushed her at all the right times and knew what buttons to push to make her crack each time until finally she had no choice to take the risk and fall.

Giselle…the tears that fell in this book for you…omg my heart hurt so badly for you. My eyes were a red swollen mess when we find out what you had to endure for all those years. We understand why you are the way you are. Why you don’t trust. Why you keep everyone at three arms lengths away. We understand and so to see you fall and take the leap of faith with Mike *Sigh* made my heart flutter.

This book was so heartfelt, emotional and amazing. To see Giselle from book 1 and then SEE her growth until this book…WOW. We can see the heart she has and see it unthaw thanks to that detective and a certain friend …..her happiness is so well deserved.

The end of the book was amazing. I am left so happy and excited for all of the characters but I gotta admit there are so many more storied I would love to read….Ren, Geoffrey……but especially Jamie. She needs to be given an HEA too.

Book four in the Regent Vampire series, this time it is Giselle's book - yippee.

Giselle has featured in all the other books and her relationship with Mike has been fun to read about, but in this book it is all about them. They've reached a point where they have to go all in, well at least Mike has decided its time, he still needs to convince Giselle! Giselle could be described as uptight?, cold, guarded - underneath the shield there's a woman that wants to be loved.

Mike is human, in love and lust with Giselle. He never expected to like vamps, let alone love one. What is destined will be and unbeknown to Mike they are destined mates. Mike is sensitive and caring and considerate of Giselle and what has happened in her past, but he wants and needs more from her - he need her shield to come down.

This read is really comforting, as I have wanted to see them happy for a while now, it is a sexy read too! I was happy there were no major fights to deal with where you are worried about all your favourite characters. There is some action and the Xavier storyline continues, which is good as it means we get cameo roles for the other vamps in the series.

I'm one happy vamp lover. 4.5 stars

Reawakening
by K.L. Kreig
Book 3 of the Regent Vampire Lords

The book comes with a well deserved warning of adult content and strong language.
In book 2 Rom, the oldest and most powerful of the 3 Lords meets his fated mate Sarah.
We also meet Rom's father who is equally as nasty as Xavier, leaving the Lords with the looming threat of not only one, but two nasties.
An exciting story line with some unexpected twists.
I do again have to mention that though the sex scenes are well written the violent nature of these scenes and the coarse language used to describe them to me personally were not necessary to boost an already strong story line. I have mentioned in previous reviews that the authour has introduced me to a new line of vampiric lore and has an awesome story line going that I think that the balance between the sex scenes and the story line is unbalanced.
I rate this book as 4/5 stars and 8/10 IPI

Wow yet another great book

Detective Mike Thatcher is no fan of Vampires, they stole his girlfriend and his future when the abducted his college Sweetheart Jamie. Imagine his surprise when the fates decide to pair him with the one thing he has hated for 11 years, a vampire. Giselle isn't just a vampire, female vampires are rare and she's a strong, feisty, sexy woman wrapped into an ice-cold package.

She has her reasons for her frosty attitude and she certainly never wanted a fated Moira. Mile was changing her in ways she didn't like, he was crumbling and thawing her icy exterior. He's not letting her run anymore.

I loved Mike and Giselles's chemistry throughout this series but wow was it stepped up even hotter! This really did grab at your heart strings

In previous books Giselle was the tough chick that guarded her heart with a wall of steel. I loved that Mike was able to get past that wall and love her. She didn't think that she was loveable, but he so proved her wrong. She has always had to be strong to fight for her life and the lives of others. Mike wasn't her weakness, but her strength. To watch him change was a beautiful thing as well. He was so against vamps until he met ones that weren't as evil as he thought they all were. Then came Giselle. She blew all that to hell for him. I so loved them together. He was fierce in his love for her and he brought out her sweet. I so love this series and I can't wait to read more.

I give Evading 5 hearts!

What do I think? Well I think that KL Kreig owns this genre. I have been anticipating Gisele and Mike's story for over a year, well since I read Surrendering and it does not disappoint. It's written with heart, humour and tears, what more could you ask for? The plot didn't go where I was expecting it to, it exceeded my expectations and I love the book all the more for it. Excellent writing, engaging characters and a well thought out plot, the forth installment in the Regent Vampire Lords will have you begging for the next, trust me I already have.

Evading is the highly anticipated fourth instalment in K.L Kreig’s deeply satisfying Regent Vampire Lords series and is the long awaited tale of vampire Giselle and human detective Mike, two scarred and fierce souls whose attraction to each other has been simmering for months and is finally set to implode with stunning results…..

Man, does K.L. Kreig know how to write! Seriously. Evading is the best book so far in a series that has been brilliant from the very beginning and never fails to disappoint. Evading is a fast paced, emotionally rich tale that finally allows us to learn of the scars that have tormented Giselle and that have left her afraid to build a future.

I know it may seem cheesy, but the moment Giselle and Mike met, I knew they were meant to be. Kreig has built them up deliciously throughout the previous books; tempting, teasing and setting the base for their relationship. She set the stage for Evading and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Well written, Evading switched back and forth between Giselle and Mike perfectly and managed to give as a well-rounded view of their story.

Evading focuses heavily around Giselle and the past that has haunted her. It becomes clear quite quickly that the icy façade Giselle projects is exactly that, a façade. Beneath the cold and uncaring picture Giselle paints, is a scared and brittle individual who is deeply frightened of letting herself feel for Mike and who truly loathes herself; feeling dirty and unworthy. As I briefly mentioned, K.L. Kreig packs a lot of emotion into this book.

I loved Giselle before, but I love her even more now—the strength it must have taken for her to continue on after the atrocities that were done to her is exceptional. It makes her stronger than she realises and Kreig never shies away from how bad Giselle was treated and how she was violated. Mike was a truly perfect match for her and the depth of the love he feels for Giselle shines throughout this novel. He was able to bring her to life in every sense and I loved seeing them face their demons together.

As Giselle’s Fated, Mike had a lot to learn and accept and he does so beautifully—nothing was going to keep him from Giselle. K.L. Kreig does a fantastic job of finally giving them a happily ever after, even if it is fraught with difficulties and Giselle’s fear. Evading is sensual and sexy and full of hot sex scenes. Most of the previous characters make an appearance and Kreig gets her cute on with a development at the end I won’t spoil and give away, but does certainly mean lots of happiness for Giselle and Mike.

Though this novel ending perfectly, I must say I’m still not quite ready to let the series go after Evading. Ren features a lot in this instalment too and I’m already considering whether we’ll get to hear both his and Geoffrey’s stories!

Perfect for fans of Black Danger Brotherhood and Midnight Breed, the Regent Vampire Lords series is highly satisfying and I highly recommend picking it up if you’re looking for a well-paced, well plotted and enjoyable vampire tale!

As much as this was it THE END I felt like to me it needed more of a better conclusion to the crazy ass vampire Xavier but nope this book focused more on Giselle and how and why she was a bitch. But. I adored how Mike wouldn't give up on her. I thought they both got what they wanted in the end through hardships, heartaches and at times angst between both of them, but it'll leave you just embracing their unity and just hope for an HEA.

I don't think I'm ready to see this end cause I see new characters have POVs and I'm hoping for more. Geoffrey and Beth. Ren and ??? Devon and Kate and their baby but I'm not giving up hope for more from this author.

I am so happy to be able to read Mike and Gisell's story, to see them get the HEA. I loved all the lord's stories but craved more of these two thru the other three books, along a wanting more on a few of the other characters. This did not disappoint. They barbs back and forth between them just as strong as the sparks and chemistry. They both were tortured souls for different reasons and to see them be able to heal each other was wonderful.

Evading (Regent Vampire Lords 4) - K L Kreig

4.5 Hashtags

This is book 4 in the Regent Vampire Lord Series and I'll say it again ... I really do love this series.

This book follows Mike and Giselle's story and here we learn of Giselle's harrowing past. Their amazing steamy hot chemistry and bond can be felt building throughout the book, infact throughout the whole series. It made a nice change in this series to have the main vampire character a female and the human a male. I loved Mike's turnaround from hating the bloodsuckers to joining them.

For me this book didn't quite get my full 5 stars, I felt this one initially re-capped on quite a bit of the story which was already covered in book 3 and therefore it took me a while to be completely drawn in. Also the event's with Siobhan were over far too quickly and it all felt a little rushed - I would have personally like much more blood and action!

I highly recommend this series for any erotic vampire lover ! Most definitely worth a one-click.

Wow!! I pretty sure I just fell in love with one bad ass vampire b*tch named Giselle!!! She is everything I usually love in my leading men and if she was swinging a dick, she'd be my perfection!!! Giselle is an unapologetic, tell it like it is, don't care if you don't like it, f@ck with me and I will f@ck you up kind of woman and she broke my f@cking heart!!!!

This is the 4th book in the series and though it technically could be read as a standalone, I recommend that you read the others first. Mike and Giselle have had something simmering since book one and it has finally come bubbling to the surface. Evading is almost solely about their relationship with little forward plot movement in the RVL world. Though we do get glimpses of all of our favorite couples and someone does meet an untimely end, center court goes to Mike and Giselle. Trust me your going to want court side seats.

If you love a strong kick-ass female lead, with a heart breaking story line and sexy scenes that will have you reaching for the extra pack of batteries, this one is for you!!! ;)

I'd love annalise to adopt a baby she longs for and ren to find his mate. I'm sure it will be highly amusing watching their kids getting older and the camps getting all protective. This was the perfect ending for Mike and Giselle's story

Mike and Giselle, started their journey in the first Regent Vampire Lord's story. Snarky cutting dialogue between them, quick back and forth action, blended with danger, fighting, grief and happiness, makes a story you don't want to put down.
