Come and join the year-long adventure through the sun-dappled paths of the best-selling Tarot deck by Mark Ryan and John Matthews!
With a foreword written by John Matthews, this e-book contains all the entries that Alison Cross has written for The Wildwood Tarot's popular Facebook page. Read entries for each of the cards that sit at the hub of The Wheel of The Year - The Shaman, The World Tree, The Seer and The Wanderer.
It doesn't matter what time of the year you choose to begin your journey, you can quickly find the relevant active cards and make your first steps on the path with the characters of The Wildwood.
I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Alison Cross had taken her work on the Wildwood Tarot and turned it into an e-book. A Year In The Wildwood contains all of the entries Alison wrote for the Wildwood Tarot’s Facebook page. With humor and style, she takes us through a year-long journey through the cards.
The technical information presented here, along with suggestions on how to use it, are invaluable. Those already working with this deck will appreciate it, and those who do not have this deck yet will more than likely want to purchase it to work with.
At the end of the book Appendix I lists each card in the deck, and the dates they are activated. Appendix II lists Moon and Sun cycle exercises, and is followed by a list of useful resources.
Alison Cross has a knack for writing, for looking into the heart of things. She also has an innate sense of humor that anyone who follows her blog will understand. She has made this book a valuable resource that stands on its own feet.
I highly recommend this book as a companion to The Wildwood Tarot deck. It really breaks it down and makes The Wildwood Tarot a lot easier to understand and follow throughout the Wheel of the Year.
I danced through the wheel of the year with this delightful book. It made the Wildwood Tarot come alive for me after two failed attempts with only the companion book written by the authors. This has been a delightful year-round study, and I’ll pick it up again. Well-worth the time.
A year's worth of guided self-examination and meditation using the beautiful, nature-involved Wildwood Tarot. Fertile ground for self-discovery and growth.
This book gives more insight about the cards then the original wild wood tarot guild book. Of course you can just use the original guild book, but for tarot beginners like me, this book can be a good example of what kind of signs and meaning to look for when drawn out a card.
It may not have everything covered since each card can have it's own personal meaning to the reader though.
I found this book quite interesting, but I have some problems with the provided correspondences. I liked the thought of the journey around the year and I appreciate the exercises. It is, however, not a guidebook to the Wildwood Tarot, it’s more of a workbook. Keep that in mind when reading it. I will revisit this book throughout the coming year to follow the journey through the Wildwood.
