Everet Martins writes stories of the fantastic. His first foray into the published realm is Stormcaller. It has the type of visceral action and fun he had always dreamed fantasy could be.

Living in New Hampshire, Everet finds inspiration for his books within his exciting life. He has always loved getting lost in role-playing games and novels. In his youth, he was notorious for being found with his face lost behind the cover of a book. Fascinated by the written word and always wanting to try putting pen to page, he started writing short stories, and eventually a novel.

As a young boy he was exposed to the rigors of martial arts and continued to practice them throughout his adult life, dabbling in various styles. The love for physical fitness morphed into other bodily challenges such as strength training and long distance running.

A New Light Review
Thank you to Everet Martins for giving me an Advanced Reader Kindle Copy of The Age of Dawn Book 5!!!
Absolutely loved this book so much. The action was fucking great, so bloody and gory. The main characters were great and the ending was sad with a mixture of reassurance and the impending danger that lies ahead.

Spoilers......
Plot: Nyset continues to build an army to face Asebor's forces with the new Silver Tower with the new apprentices/wizards to defend the city. Walter struggles with his grief for killing Juzo, and being away from Nyset, but is supported by Grim. Walter and Grim are betrayed by Scab, who made a bargain with the Wretched. Walter kills both Marcine and later Alena when he and Grim are defending the Great Retreat/Tree and they gain allies from the Tree Folk leader, Thalia and her warriors. Nyset has the Earl Baraz killed. Walter finds the Chains of the North that Juzo hid. Senka and Isa kill Dressna. Asebor and his mother, the Shadow God get killed by Walter as he and his friends are sucked into the Shadow Realm and are reunited with Juzo. Walter sacrifices himself and his soul becoming one with the Dragon and Phoenix replenishing the Shadow Realm to a more happier place for the dead. The Shadow daughter escaped the Shadow Realm and is still somewhere hiding. Nyset and her friends bury Walter while grieving his death. It's revealed that Nyset is pregnant with her and Walter's child. Nyset killed Scab for betraying Walter.

Walter: His death at the end was sad and heartbreaking. I liked that he killed Asebor, his mother, Marcine and Alena. I was glad that he did grief for killing Juzo and that he was sorry for killing him, but unfortunately their reunion was short-lived. His frienship with Grim was solid and amazing. It was very heroic moment when Walter merged his soul with the Dragon and Phoenix to defeat his enemies and save his friends and girlfriend. RIP Walter Glade, The Shadow Slayer.
Nyset: Liked she was very strong and fierce in her role as the new Arch Wizard of the Silver Tower. Her friendships with Senka and Claw were both cool. Her relationship with Walter finally became romantic and they had sex for the first and only time, but she's having her and Walter's child. Sad that she never got to say goodbye to her love.
Grimbald: He's a fun, strong and an great friend alongside a warrior with big axes. He dealt with his father's death and he supported Walt all the way.
Senka and Isa: Really, really enjoy the growing relationship that these two formed throughout the book. And them tag-teaming to kill Dressna was awesome.
Claw: I really love his character; he's intriguing and a bit odd but in a good way. Him talking to his sword, Ghostwalker was interesting. He's fiercely loyal and protective of Nyset and her friends in a fatherly sense.
Juzo: I'm so happy that Juzo has returned and that he's alive again. I thought he was going to stay dead. Juzo returned at the end when Walter and the others got stuck briefly in the Shadow Realm. I'm saddened that he wasn't able to say goodbye to his best friend, Walt. Juzo is still a Blood Eater and he's controlling his need for blood better.
Other Characters: I didn't like Scab and his men or Earl Baraz. I wonder where in Zoria Master Grozul ran off to. I like Thalia and the rest of the Tree Folk and their laid back personality and culture. Also liked that there are gay/lesbian couples in the book. I liked that we got more backstory on Senka, Isa and Claw. I'm glad that Malek was put out of his misery when Walter killed him and the other Blood Eaters. Great seeing Stokes again and him helping Walt and his friends at the battle to reclaim the Silver Tower.

I have no idea what's going to happen in the next two books. But hopefully these characters have a happy ending with no more demons lurking about and wanting to murder them. Great job, Everet on making this book action-packed as usual, and having my emotions going in all directions of what was happening to the characters.
