Bad Boys on Holiday #3

Beached with the Bad Boy

Rate this book
“I want you on your hands and knees in the sand, right here, right now, and I don’t give a f*ck who’s watching.”

There’s nothing Layla Hart loves more than a hot, dirty-talking guy taking control… in the pages of her manuscript. But after a devastating breakup, the bestselling romance author has lost her muse. Deadline looming, she’s hoping a week at her favorite Cali beach rental will get her juices flowing again. No distractions, no drama—nothing but the pounding surf, the salty ocean breeze…

And Trick Harper, the infamous bad boy of punk rock, passed out in her bed. Naked. Hard. And—holy hell—HUGE.

Random chicks climbing into his bed in the middle of the night? For rock star Patrick “Trick” Harper, that’s just part of the gig—usually. But this spring break, he’s taking a sabbatical from sex, holing up in a beachfront cottage to clear his head and finish his latest song. Only one thing can screw up his plans…

A ball-busting, sexy-as-hell writer who leaves him aching to make her sing the high notes… preferably while he’s f*cking her senseless on the beach.

With neither willing to relinquish the double-booked rental, the battle of the sexes is on. A no-strings fling with a well-endowed rock star might be just what Layla needs to get her writing groove back… but will the cocky bad boy rise to the occasion, or is this breezy seaside romance doomed to sink?

I love this series, because even though they're short stories, they have really, really good smut, as well as a sensual connection between the main characters.

Take it, read it, fall in love with this series.

Beached with the Bad Boy is the third book in the Bad Boy's on Holiday novella series. I have read them all, and loved each one! They are short, sexy, and leave me wanting more! Now, it's time to go to the beach...

Trick is a 34 year old rockstar man-whore that needs a break from everyone, including himself. He needs a detox from his life and everything in it. The parties, his friends, his record executives. No more distractions including women. He has one last song to write to complete his album. One step closer to closing out his record deal so he could be his own boss. The problem? It's taken him forever to write it. He needs a muse. And that muse will have to be the beach for now. At the last minute he rented a beach cottage so he would be alone with his thoughts or so he thought...

This is exactly what Layla needs. To be by the ocean in the beach cottage she rents throughout the year when she needs to write her romance novels. It's the perfect setting and one she needs to finish this book. The one that is driving her publisher crazy with deadline changes. She has one week. One week to finish it. Since her break-up two years ago, her writing, and her life has taken a back seat. Maybe this week he will help get her groove back. Then she enters the bedroom that she loves so much and she finds that she isn't alone...

Trick and Layla both need this space and neither of them will leave it so they will have to make some rules. Bottom line? To stay clear of each other so they can both work. But it's harder than they thought since the sexual tension is high, their attraction to the other ones bodies and attitudes is making for dangerous territory. They decided to place rules but rules are made to be broken! And that makes for a crazy sexy few days. Will the distraction that they were most afraid of actually be exactly what they needed? But what will happen when they have to leave their cottage?

I fell for Trick. Fast. He is so yummy!! And Layla is kick-ass, I mean she writes romance novels, she has to be. They both have things to work out that need some serious attention. Will they figure it out?

This might be a novella but it packs a lot in. I hope there is another book in the series. Please Sylvia, I need more!

Quotes:

“I like my coffee how I like my women.”
The woman rolled those bright green eyes. “Let me guess: Old and bitter?”
“Hot and naked, a fresh one every morning.”

“Hey, you made the rules, Sunshine.” Trick flashed his infuriating, panty-melting grin. “Now you gotta live with them.”

With a teasing smile, he said, “Fuck. You’ve got me breaking all kinds of rules tonight, Sunshine.”

Layla and Trick are both writers suffering from the same problem, both dealing with uncertainty and misdirection in their lives. Suffering from a broken heart, Layla is unable to put that spark back into her writing and finish the next installment in her series of romance novels. Feeling that the life he is leading is missing something, Trick is unable focus on the words and complete the final song for the release of his new album. Under a deadline and needing a change of scenery, they both have the same thought of running from the worlds they live in to escape to the tranquility and peace of the beach which will hopefully unlock the internal block and get the creative juices once again flowing. But when they are both rented the same beach house and neither is willing to give it up, Layla and Trick reluctantly agree to share the space. But as the days together pass both their eyes and their hearts begin to see something more in each other than what they had originally seen on the surface. Will Layla’s heartache finally ease long enough to see more in Trick than a womanizing bad boy rock star she believes him to be? Will Trick be able to delve beneath Layla’s dark and angry side and find the soul which could help him finally rediscover the path he always wanted to travel?

Beached with the Bad Boy is another fantastic addition to Sylvia Pierce’s Bad Boys on Holiday series. Once again Sylvia Pierce has given us memorable characters and a love story that will make you swoon and fan yourself from heated passion. Although Layla and Trick initially butt heads because of the circumstances, you can most certainly feel the chemistry which sparks between them from the moment they meet. Beached with the Bad Boy is the third installment in Ms. Pierce’s Bad Boy series and despite the fast-pace as well as their novella-length, she definitely has a knack for drawing me quickly into her story and keeping me absorbed in the lives of her characters page after page right through to the very end.

A Review of Beached With The Bad Boy by Sylvia Pierce

Another home run!! - 5++++ stars

Sylvia just has a way of drawing you into the storyline that she is spinning and making you feel like you are a part of it. In this book, we meet Layla Hart -- a romance writer with major writer's block and Trick Harper -- a punk rock star that has his own kind of writer's block. Somehow, Trick ended up renting the same beach cottage that she did without knowing it. He was sound asleep when she walked into the cottage and since she had been there many times, she knew the layout of the place without any lights being on. So, when she slides into the bed and reaches for a pillow, she grabs onto hot flesh instead and ends up screaming down the place.

Neither one of them wants to give in and take a room at the hotel they were offered, so Layla decides to push his buttons by taping off sections of the cottage and coming up with a ridiculous contract that she is sure will make him run. There are laughs galore and plenty of sexy going ons (after all, she is a romance writer). Can they survive this week together or will one of them break? Each one of them has their own demons they are dealing with, so what happens when they finally have a real conversation with each other? Will they be able to help each other or will this destroy both of them by the time the week is up?

I've read several books by Sylvia and each one gets better and better. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to laugh and enjoy some good old fashioned fun. Perfect for a day at the beach!

There is no better place to find yourself again than the beach. Layla Hart is stuck in the past, heart broken by the man who had promised to love her till death do them part. She has allowed it to consume her, preventing her from continuing on with her life. Affecting her work as a romance author. She needs to get to her happy place, the cottage on the beach. Trick Harper is every woman's dirty dream, with his sultry voice and hard core bad boy image. But Trick is in a rut, his creative juices are all dried up. Deciding to forgo Cabo for Spring Break, Trick heads for the beach instead. Maybe there he can finally get himself back on track. What he doesn't expect is Layla Harper ending up in his bed.
It seams the cottage was double booked and now Layla and Trick's quiet time and place to themselves is anything but. Although there is an instant attraction, neither one wants or needs the distraction. Not starting off on the right foot Layla and Trick want nothing to do with each other. Then one night changes it all. When someone sees you for who you really are, what do you do? Will Layla fall for the bad band boy? Can Trick break down Layla's walls? Sylvia Pierce has delivered another excellent novella in the Bad Boy's on Holiday series.

super fun afternoon read. This fast paced book is all about being stuck with a stranger and making the best of it. Both Layla and Trick are escaping life to reach their deadlines, both aggravated their cottage is overbooked, both wishing the other would just leave, but the chemistry between them is strong. can they fight it, can they learn to get along?
Layla is a great character, she's been burned in the past and has sworn off men. I bet her writing would be hot as hell to read!
Trick is a bad boy rock star. he's yummy and a player, but facing a deadline, he's also sworn off women. he's very likable with a bad boy thing going for him, but he's also funny and has some deep songs. Total swoon worthy.
the book gives us some super hot naughty moments and some more serious beats. really good read!

A great read!!!

This is a story about a double booked beach front cabin and what happens when neither of the occupants are willing to give it up.
Trick the rock star and Layla the romance novelist were great characters, I loved Tricks sense of humour and although Layla was a bit uptight to begin with she was still very likeable with her sassy come backs. It was a well written fairly light hearted, standalone novella which is the third in the Bad Boys On Holiday series which includes Snowed In With The Bad Boy and Bad Boy Valentine which are also standalone. Sylvia Pierce is an excellent story teller and I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes their romances hot and sexy.

So far I've enjoyed every book in the Bad Boys on Holiday series and this was by far my favorite one!!

If you are looking for a quick, sexy, HOT read - then look no further.

This is about Layla and Trick - both of whom have rented the same beach cottage - and both too stubborn to relent. Layla needs a quiet spot to finish her romance novel (the only place she is seeing any action) and Trick needs a quiet spot to finish the last song on his album before he goes on tour (and he is avoiding any action on this trip).

Sparks fly, ignite, and burn!! Oh my!! The ending was very sweet. Sylvia's books claim to be HFN stories, but this one really feels like a HEA!!

*My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a very sweet romance about two like minded people who find themselves struggling to finish their work and going somewhere they hope they can get their muse back.

In finding each other at a rental where they have been double booked things one up in ways they never saw coming.

I loved how sweet our rocker Trick Harper was and how Layla is a romance writer going through a few steamy scenes.

I really hope there are more novella's coming out in this series, I just can't get enough of them :)

Beached with the Bad Boy is a great story! Trick needed to detox from his hectic rock and roll lifestyle so he escaped to the beach. Layla needs to finish her book that is very overdue, but what do you do when you show up to your sanctuary to find someone had invaded it... These two meet in the most unexpected way and do not get off on the right foot, and actually Layla draws a line in the sand, so to speak. These two have great chemistry, but will they let their past keep them apart or will they finally let go of what's weighing them down and give into it? Love these two!

Well I love a good rocker bad boy' and Trick really had that bad boy attitude down. Layla....ohhh sweet Layla......how she was knocked on her butt when Trick snuck into her life. Sometimes all you need is to be forced to stay with someone for a week in order to get your head straight. I think they both helped each other realize that they we not loving life to the fullest and stuck in past. I mean sex on the beach.......and with a rock star non the less........MAGIC!!!!

I really enjoyed this one. Trick and Layla get off on the wrong foot. The first impressions of each other are not favorable, but once they get past the surface they see the true inner person. The chemistry between them is beyond hot. Trick is one naughty musician. Layla is trying to move past her what her ex put her through. Trick may just be the person to get her over the hump. Will their vacation be just a fling or can it be more? It's a passionate fast read that I would recommend.
