A madman is murdering New York City’s immigrants, and it’s up to NYPD Detectives Pete Nazareth and Tara Gimble to take him down in this deadly game of kill or be killed. The investigation is complicated by a terrorist who successfully turns the recent slayings to his advantage as he plots a major attack outside One Police Plaza.
This is the second novel in the Detective Pete Nazareth series.
Author Russ Johnson has written twenty-nine novels in a variety of genres. The books are works of fiction, but they have a ring of authenticity derived in part from his military, private-sector, and consulting experiences. He lives in Kennebunk, Maine, and Princeton Junction, New Jersey. You can learn more about Russ's upcoming books at www.authorrhjohnson.com.
People dying, and bodies dumped on the street in the early morning hours. All in the first few chapters. Nothing like grabbing your attention and sucking you in for the rest of the book.
I loved every page and got to the end way too fast.
Looking for a great read by the beach, or on a plane this series is for you. Well written and plenty of action to keep your attention.
I wonder how many RH has up his sleeve. I also wonder what actually goes on in the mind of a writer.
Much like R.H. Johnson's previous book (Widow-Taker), A Measure of Revenge was a fantastically written thriller. The characters and scenes are expertly developed, and the "bad" guy's thought process is absolutely chilling! A Measure of Revenge is a true page-turner from start to finish. A definite MUST READ!!!
A friend of mine recommended that I read A Measure of Revenge and I am so glad that I did. The book was incredible. I read a lot of thrillers and I can honestly say that this one proved to be one of the best. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fast-paced thrillers - you won't be disappointed!
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Widow-Taker, but this one was even stronger. Lots of action to keep you turning pages and some great characters. The closing scenes are terrific. I know there's a third book coming, and I'm looking forward to the continuing adventures of Detective Pete Nazareth.
Once again Nazareth and Gimble are fighting the good fight. This time they are on the hunt for a man consumed with revenge. He suddenly just snaps and begins delivering dead immigrants to embassies all wrapped up and stamped with RTS. I really enjoy this authors writing and love the trouble Pete and Tara find themselves in as two powerhouse detectives with the NYPD. This book is worthy of more stars than the allotted five.
In my opinion, this was one of the best adventures of the Nazareth and Gimble series. I enjoyed the expected twists and turns of this detective thriller. I have now read several of this series of novels and this rates high on my list as a real thriller.
Just read this second in the Pete Nazareth books. A fun time watching the two heroes tracking this latest NYC bad guy. Once again Johnson picks a timely topic and follows it to a rousing conclusion highlighted by a chase through Central Park. The last page points toward a coming third book. I can hardly wait...
