Rate this book
12 episodes -- the complete Season One collection

Eighteen-year-old Channon Beaumont is a virgin in every sense of the word, and vanilla as angel cake. But the moment he lays eyes on the dominant older man next-door, he knows he'll do anything he's ordered just for the chance to be with a man like that.

When he rented the house for the summer, billionaire entrepreneur Jonathan Nash never expected to find such a sweetly obedient youth in his backyard. Channon takes naturally to submission, so Jack decides to train his boy into the perfect submissive, willing to endure anything Jack demands of him and enjoying every second of it.

Channon finds himself sucked deep into a world of dominance and submission, pain and pleasure, and willing service to the only man he's ever wanted to call Sir. And Jack? Just might accidentally fall in love.

I had so much fun reading some of these ‘episodes’ in public, wondering what I’d say if one of my middle-aged straight coworkers asked me why I’m smirking at my phone 😂

Because this was pure, gloriously unapologetic smut, guys! 😳🔥 Well okay, I exaggerated. There is some plot here, but it’d fit on one page or less. Shy teenage virgin meets his hot older neighbor, and kinky sex ed ensues. That’s it, that’s the plot. There’s no useless teen angst, there’s no gay panic, no awkward ‘circling each other’ phase. Unrealistic? Yes, but who tf cares? Certainly not me.

I’ll be back to this series soon, I want to see where Channon and Jack’s journey takes them.

12 books/chapters on 12 different sexual encounters between Channon (18) and his new temporary neighbor Sir (Jack 30 something). It starts as a Dom/boy relationship and transitions into a Dom/slave relationship. The sexual acts are relatively tame, I would say. Nothing out of the ordinary and since Channon is still learning, nothing too deep either.

“I want to come in your mouth. And then, if you’re a good boy, I’ll let you sit in my lap and bring yourself off again, while I play with your tight virgin asshole.” 😋

The most part is orgasm denial and edging. A little exhibitionism and good spanking and sharing with a friend.
I'm honestly not quite sure what to make of the story. There is little plot and also the relationship develops only little. They have a good dynamic and the depiction of the scenes is really well done, you can also empathize well with both characters, although most of it is only shown from Channon's perspective.
I miss something, "only" sex and submissiveness is too little for me. But maybe I expect too much, I think the story does not want to be anything else.
Or maybe I'm just too numb after nearly 400 pages of sex, so ignore my complaints, I'm giving it a good rating because I think my expectations are just too high and the story really doesn't want to be anything but a string of sexual encounters.

This was a GREAT twelve book read. Channon's submission to Jack was so natural. I hated, hated Channon's Mom, ex girlfriend, and his so called friend Ben. They had no faith in him and I felt so bad for him. The only person who saw potential in him was Jack. Even though the age gap Jack was a very decent man to Channon.

R.J. Moray wrote a great first season and now I'm on to the next season. Excellent first read!

Well, wasn't this a boxful of kinky delight, with a little bit of a story, too. I have to say, serials aren't my thing. But a box set? Hell's to the yeah. This won't be everyone's cup of tea, but as a fairly light read between heavy books, I've really enjoyed this story so far. It's grown on me.

When Channon (stupid name btw, because I'm still not sure how to pronounce it. Is it Channon with a CH, like chicken? Or Channon with a SH, like shark??) Anyway... With high school ending and very little emotional support from his parents, Channon is directionless. He has no job. He's not going to college. He's not even sure if he likes his friends or his girlfriend.

When he meets Jack his life is changed forever. He's finally able to look into himself and understand some things. The first...his being gay. The second...his need for Submission. Of course, Jack doesn't put a name to it for some time, preferring to gently seek out ways for Channon to understand everything he's thinking and feeling without overwhelming him. I liked Jack. He might have demanded Channon break up with his girlfriend when Channon still didn't really have a clue what was going on, but he's kinky and sweet, and when we finally get one chapter from his POV we see how in awe of Channon he is, and just how much he wants to keep him. He's also very supportive of Channon and wants him to find his way in the world. (But he's a billionaire so that's pretty easy for him to help with.)

Each chapter is a little bit more of their story, all containing some kind of sexual scene. So, there's sex. A lot of sex. But each encounter is a mixture of hot and sweet that further evolves the story, their relationship, and Channon's awareness of himself. He really is a submissive, in the truest sense of the word, and seeing what he gets from their relationship, and the changes he goes through, is a real journey.

There is one chapter however, titled "Sharing Interests" that kind of speaks for itself. I will say that normally an encounter like this wouldn't bother me but there were a few things here, from a romance readers standpoint, that did.

I'm totally eager for more.

DNF at 16%. Maybe will resume some other time. Or maybe I just shouldn’t read books with billionaires in them.

Edit: Another dnf at 65%. Channon is so young and I think I am not suitible for reading erotica.

This story isn't bad if you're in the mood for smut but there's very little else. There is a plot but just barely; not enough to actually hold my attention. I'm not rating this because I don't think it's trying to be anything more than what it is... decent smut; and in that it succeeds. I'm just in the mood for something deeper.

I love the books I’ve read by R. J. Moray. They’re wonderful stories with incredible sexy scenes and very little angst. I enjoyed reading about Jack and Channon and their developing relationship. I’m excited to know that there are two more seasons for their relationship to continue.

So would it be a bad thing for Jack to scoop him up and carry him off like a spoil of war, take him home and keep him? (p. 160)

I'm just going to copy Amur Thera and say what was best about these books:
- Channon

so much sad boi energy:
"When it was over, Channon took his diploma home. His mom said he should frame it, but he tucked it into a folder, along with his achievement certificates. It wasn't a big deal, after all, not a big enough deal for his dad to visit, anyway." (p. 283)

I took a bit to get into this (clearly visible from the read-dates) but I am on Volume 2 and am enjoying it so far!

NSFW infos:
- One neighbour ("had to be at least thirty, but he was buff as fuck, tanned golden-brown, with a thatch of black hair on his chest..." p. 5)
- One younger neighbour (eighteen, dark hair, green eyes, "twunk", virgin, thought he was straight but learns he is interested in his neighbour, discovers the label gay for himself and also submissive)
- strict top/bottom
- intercrural (Episode 2, 5)
- Bath house
- Public sex (Episode 9)
- Sharing (Episode 10)
- Bareback
- Impact Play
- Bondage

Reread 4/17/23: Upgraded to 5 stars

”It didn’t matter what Channon thought, because if Jack said it then it was fact, pure and simple. The relief was staggering, the idea so huge and all-encompassing that it stripped away the paralyzing indecision, the fear of being wrong. He didn’t need it. There was Jack, a lodestone, an anchor. His Sir, right here with him.”

I really love this series as a whole & I appreciated this first season even more the second time

Channon is so young, naive & vulnerable. That kind of bothered me the first time I read it because he could so easily be taken advantage of in this relationship. Now knowing how the characters and their relationship develop, I can see how smitten Jack is with him from the beginning and how invested he is in taking care of Channon.

It’s really lovely how much trust they are building between them and how Jack is building Channon’s self esteem

Umm.... I don’t know if this qualifies as a book? So I guess it makes sense that the author took a “season” approach instead of calling it book 1 of a series. It doesn’t really have a proper plot progression. Just feels like we’re peeking into the lives of 2 men who stumble upon each other (I still can’t figure it out if it was accidental or planned on Jack’s end 🤔) and fall into a relationship of sorts.

Channon is an 18 year old boy who’s never had any inclination that he might be gay! So it’s been a journey of watching him explore his sexuality and his submissive tendencies. I won’t lie, the sex is frequent and mostly hot. But it doesn’t really feel like it’s just another smutty book. There is a plot and it’s actually really well written. It just doesn’t have a fixed end goal...?

Anyhow, I guess I like it enough to read season 2 😬

3.5? I was gonna rate it 4 stars at first because the prose was (surprisingly) good and it kept my attenion, but the more I thought about it, the less I wanted to.

Checked this out because someone said it was really good for normalized kink, and, I mean... On the one hand, yes? The author clearly knows what they're talking about and writes it competently and without shame. But on the other... like, there's unapologetic joyful exploration of sexuality in its various forms, and then there's glossing over and normalizing something that should probably actually be addressed in therapy instead?

Like, nothing against the premise -- I absolutely believe it's possible for people to have dynamics like this and be healthy and whole individuals with a great relationship -- but the way this specific work is written makes such a clear causal line between the protagonist's self-esteem issues and his insatioble hunger for approval, which manifests as a pathological desire to please, pretty much being game for whatever his newfound father figure wants to do, emotionally or sexually, that it's just... disturbing. I'm all for healing trauma through kink -- in fact, I think more people should do it, and more romance should explore it -- but this did not feel like healing; it felt like a bandaid that masquerades as a solution to a problem which in fact goes completely unaddressed.

And, it'd be one thing if this dynamic was occurring between two equals, or at least people who each had more power in different areas, but I just could not get past the age gap. (High school! A thirty-something CEO fucking a high school student!) And the wealth gap. (A billionaire!) And the experience gap. (A virgin! A newbie gay vs. someone with a decade of experience in the hardcore BDSM scene!) Not to mention personality and assertiveness and social capital and god knows how many other things.

I don't care if the paternal-acting older man who suddenly takes over every aspect of your life says (and thinks) he's on your side, when one person holds all the power in a relationship, there's just no way for that to be good for you. I don't care if it counts as abusive or not, that's you running from your own independence and your own wounded soul, and, sure, it might feel good in the moment, and it might play into a rescue fantasy, where it's such a relief to give up all that control and just do what he says and not have to be a full-fledged person anymore when it feels like you're fucking up and someone's gonna know better and promises to take care of you -- but what is it costing your personal development and inner peace?

Idk, maybe I don't know enough about these types of relationships and am being needlessly judgmental; maybe if this book played into more of my own tastes I wouldn't even care about it; maybe this is just supposed to be a dom fantasy where their subs literally don't want anything other than to be good subs and this fantasy has nothing to do with real people and real relationships. All I know is that whatever I was hoping this book would be, it turned out to be the opposite of that.

My comments apply to installments #1 - #40. Reread of seasons 1-3.
I rarely reread something so out of my comfort zone. This series is probably 70 - 80% kink I don't care so, less in the first season of the series as it pretty much concentrates only on the two main characters, Jack the dom and Channon the sub.

-First of all, this is the journey of a virginal 18-year-old boy into a hard-core 24/7 relationship. I don't like those, at all, the sub even gets dictated on what days he can have a cheat day and eat a slice of pizza. Not realistic at all. He has very very little will of his own. And frankly, I would have felt more comfortable if Channon had at least been two years older, not a few weeks shy of his high school graduation.
-Secondly, there's a lot of swapping, swinging, sharing and displaying the sub with all kinds of super kinky people. I can deal with the occasional menage between the dom's best friend and his sub, but I find it completely weird that the dom gets turned on being basically cuckolded. Shudder.
-Thirdly, there is just too much weird stuff going on. Kink school for subs, creepy sex clubs, objectification, training of a cum- and cock slut, side characters that weird me out (Mr White, hello).
-Fourth, the sub gets his rock off being a service sub which is - arggg - so not sexy. I am also frankly quite often uncomfortable with how little free initiative and will he shows. His standard response is "Whatever you wish for Sir" and most often I only want to shake him.

However, I absolutely adore the main characters as well as the main side characters (Nate and Ewan, the dom and sub's best friends). I adore most of the kink they do when they are alone (except for the predicament bondage later on, because crippling pain in the whole body is not erotic anymore), I absolutely love how the dom coaxes Channon (the sub) out of his shell and strengthens his self-esteem (because his dad and mother belittled him on every turn). I like how the author captivates me - and let me tell you - it takes some talent to write good smut and engage me in over 40 instalments in a series that mostly features stuff that's completely out of my comfort zone.

Will I reread the series again? Probably not. Will I read further instalments? Definitely yes. And I will also revisit Nate and Ewan's story.
B fir the first season, B- for the second season, C- for all further installments (mainly bc of all the stuff that weirds me out).

This is fantastic smut. Innocent virgin hunk, a lot of debauching, kinky sex scenes and a gorgeous stern billionaire dom. This serial had all I like in a smexy story. I won't continue though for right now because of some future kink references. I neither care for cross-dressing nor "sharing" scenes, they just don't do it for me. I much prefer the possessive obsessive stuff without the sharing. B

PWP. While the first P was really good (there is a bit of everything, and everything is new to Channon since he is a virgin wanting to experiment) the 2nd P was MEH. My biggest issue was the characterization. I did read several other bdsm books with the same premise, but I don't think I've ever had such a submissive character as Channon, it was unnerving. His sole existence was to please Jack (his Master) and to have sex. And that's it. Surprisingly, the character I liked the most was Channon's ex-gf Kim. Not only she was energetic but also supportive.

I almost dropped it (for the nth time) when Jack shares Channon. While I didn't feel this was a romance at all, just 2 guys committing to the other for the same likes, I draw a line when it comes to sharing. This definitely wasn't for me. Because I will be honest... I almost drop it several times and not only when they share :(

May/December relationship, BDSM lifestyle, 80% erotica and yet there is a relationship developing between the two of them. Can’t wait to read the rest and I want the best for Channing. His family sucks. His mom really should’ve asked more questions about him leaving with a 30 y/o man.

This age gap is borderline wrong, and Jack is manipulative (for Channon’s own good or not, you still shouldn’t demand someone break up with their significant other) but I love Moray’s writing that I dove into it anyway. I was willing to smooth over those issues to enjoy it as much as I did. Only big thing is I wish I had more of Jack’s POV.

Ok, so you have to be in the right mindset going into this one … the kind of mindset where this premise is an elaborate fantasy that takes place in a fictional world where these two characters are sent by fate to find each other and everything works out magically perfectly… because if you go into this looking for realism, you’re going to find this premise very creepy and a terrifying story about grooming.

But luckily I was totally ready to get swept away into horny fantasy land, and eat up what I thought would amount to a ridiculously long PWP. And boy was I wrong!!

Not about the porn, no no, these books have hilariously egregious amount of porn… but as the story progressed (and by story I do mean sex scenes) I started to fall in love with the characters and the beautiful love story this author wove together while her characters made copious amounts of kinky love.

Each sex scene was beautifully crafted and contained so much character detail and development, we really watch these two characters grow and fall in love and find themselves throughout the series. This, in my opinion, is romance at its finest.

My other favorite detail: the amazing “mediocre” parent representation. I get tired of these black and white, Angel/devil parents who are either (a straight person’s idea of) perfect examples of how parents should react to their gay children … or evil, soulless parents who kick their children out and never talk to them again or die in prison after stalking and almost murdering their kid. In this series, tho, there are countless adults who very realistically react to the gay people around them — with varying levels of casual and sometimes unintentional homophobia, or entirely intentional passive aggressive homophobia, or straight up denial… yup. This is how the majority of people and parents respond to queerness in their life. Imperfectly. Not angelically, or villainously. Just, badly. And somehow this series managed to capture that.

This story just blossoms into a world full of fun people who have fun sexy times and fall in love. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

P.S. my second favorite detail is how obvious it is that this author is British and did not have an American editor I rarely get to experience that (usually it’s the other way around) and it was a real trip. I took to calling this unnamed fictional world “Brittanifornia” … I had to look up a couple of words (like the "biro" [pen] drawing or the "perspex" [acrylic] cock cage...) everyone was always “keen”… They kept getting takeaway! And “stacking” the dishwasher! And going on holiday!! And Jack gave Channon PARACETAMOL!! (For some reason Jack is so worried about disliking football making him “un-American” when really he should be worrying about how often he wears a scarf and “puts on the kettle” for tea …) and I really liked how the author kind of subbed coffee in for tea, when in reality we just don’t have anything comparable to tea culture in the US… no one drinks coffee that much either!! But hey. I can tell the author made a SERIOUS effort not to mix up pants and underwear. Very impressed, because that would have just gotten confusing. There is a LOT of underwear in this book.

I am surprised at how much I liked this one because it was 90% sex and the rest was plot and I am not mad at all. It felt like that was right for this story of age gap and sexual awakening. Don't get me wrong, I love a good sex scene but oftentimes I prefer more meat. I liked the gentle Dom and the eager-to-please sub. The format is interesting though. It being a serial, does that mean that there won't be an ending? I do like a good ending. I am definitely going to keep reading though.

I'm really not sure where to start except to say that this entire series is super hot, extraordinarily well written and exceptionally put together.
This first bundle brings together Jack and Channon - our sexy CEO and the innocent boy next door. The low-key hum that rumbles through the entire first half of this bundle from the tension between the protagonists builds such exquisite pull that the reader simply cannot put the book down! Channon NEEDS Jack like air and Channon is like a delicious new flavour that Jack can't get enough of.
The BDSM elements are introduced beautifully and I thoroughly enjoyed following the journey of discovery.
This has become my #1 recommendation for anyone wanting a BDSM series to sink their teeth into.

Good D/s story. Both MC's are likeable and the sex and kink are plentiful which is fulfilling. I think maybe the word Perfect is used waaay to much and perhaps things go a little too perfect as well, but it's fiction and I fell in love with them so it's all good.
