I read this as a child in translation and couldn't find its original title or the book, when I tried to read it again. One of my favorites, couldn't explain why! The atmospheric description of the life in the Swamp stayed with me for many years. The boy's story was exciting, though I can't recall what actually happens.

Very much enjoyed this book. Cormack is a skilled author. The story held my interest all the way to the end. I would say the book is about High School Level. Nothing deep, but just a good story, paced well and well written. Great character building.
