We have an enemy. And our enemy knows the most powerful person on the planet is a free person. When we're free there are endless possibilities for God to work in us to accomplish His purpose for our lives. But many of us are not free. When it comes to our God-given purpose, many of us are fearful, unsure, and held back. Insecure. The enemy doesn't want us free. That is the very reason we have to become free. In this book you will find the keys that unlock the chains of insecurity. You will find the strength and confidence to be the person God sees, and accomplish the work He has called you to do by tackling issues like: - Our lack of identity - Believing lies that hold us back - Fearing what people think - How to walk in freedom Do you want to be free? How much do you want it?
This book is a good, honest account of one woman's journey to freedom. She reminds people of the importance of putting God first and embedding Scripture in their hearts. Also, she notes that freedom is not a destination; freedom is a lifestyle. One that must be worked at and sought after daily. Finally, to truly be free is to love yourself. If God loves you, why are you to think you know better than Him and tear yourself down? Believe in who you are in Him and be set free.
The only thing I wish the author did was add more Scripture throughout the chapters. It would have been great to have a few Scriptures referenced each chapter to start things off or to reinforce points along the way. Overall though, I would recommend this book to anyone. It's an easy read and very helpful and applicable.
I did the In_Security devotional on the Bible app quite a while back, so it’s taken me a while to get to the actual book. I found the longer version just okay—I would have liked more scripture throughout, and I thought Light spent too much time defining insecurity (it’s not like it’s an original concept) and not enough time on the “solution.”
A real and honest account of this author's journey to freedom from insecurity, and an extremely practical guide to how the reader can get there too. Everyone should read this book because everyone struggles with insecurity in one way or another.
Not sure why the bright cover doesn't show, but this book is a must-read for everyone. We all struggle with insecurities. But, are we aware that they may be keeping us from being who we are called to be? If you find yourself comparing, cycling through failed relationships, never being at peace with yourself, then this book is for you. If you mentor others, read this book! Anna takes the reader on a journey of her own life, and then gives practical steps to breaking down the walls that hold you back.
