Deadly Legacy : The Inheritance ( Strong Women, Extraordinary Situation-Book 7 )
By: Margaret Daley

Deadly Legacy The Inheritance is book seven in Strong Women, Extraordinary Situation series. Even though this is book seven you can still read it as a stand-a-lone without any problems. Margaret Daley weaves and plots another story that is fast paced, packed with action, clean romance , and suspense . Margaret Daley did not disappoint me. She had me hooked right from the start and did not let go till the end. A single mom with a son was having a hard time till she was told that she had inherited her childhood home place that she thought was gone for good. It had been redone into a beautiful B and B. Has her problems all been solved now? The sheriff in town is an old childhood friend that her sister had a crush on . There is a burglary ring hitting the area. Strange things are happening, threats ,and danger to her and her son. Who can she trust? Can she trust the sheriff?

Deadly Legacy was a very exciting story! I loved the setting and that Lacey returned to what was once her home. It was filled with interesting characters, such as Mr. and Mrs. Bell, who currently run the bed and breakfast. Lacey had to learn how to settle back into life with her son after a disastrous marriage and difficult time after her husband died. Things were finally looking up, especially as she reconnected with a man she knew as a child. The relationship that built between Ryan and Lacy was great and made for a nice romantic read. Add in danger from an unknown source and it put just the right amount of uneasy tension into the book. This was an enjoyable romantic suspense novel.

For me this was a wonderful read!!
I always know when I pick up one of Margaret Daley's books that I'm in for a real treat. She creates a plot and characters that will pull me into the story quickly and keep me entertained until the last page is turned.
Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations is a series that highlight the strength and resilience of a woman when she is tested. The story, which is the 7th book in the series, is about a young woman, Lacey St. John, who has a gift land in her lap that could benefit her family. She is a single mom who is struggling to provide a safe home for her son to grow up in, but in one sweep of benevolence from a stranger she is on her way back to her ancestral home of her childhood which was turned into a bed and breakfast approximately 19 years ago by the previous owner. For her this means much more than one would think, but the first thought is security.
Their arrival brings an influx of memories from Lacey's childhood where she spent many happy years. Calvert Cove was built in the 1870's, but several rooms were unused when she lived there as a child. The previous owner completed renovations when he obtained the property, but it was obvious a facelift was needed. Mrs. Bell, the manager, has already started the arrangements for this, but Lacey definitely wanted to put her touch on the renovations also.
Suddenly strange occurrences start happening and Lacey turns to police detective and neighbor Ryan McNeil for much needed advice. Their attraction is instant. As feelings develop the biggest obstacle appears to be the strange occurrences are getting scary and border on danger for both Lacey and her son.
Both the plot and characters quickly pulled me into the story. I loved the slow build of a relationship between Lacey and Ryan. To me it felt more realistic this way. This story brings elements of suspense, mystery, and romance. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good suspense.
***I received this book from the author for a honest review without bias or outside influence.

Deadly Legacy is a fast-paced book in the Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations series. What would you do if you suddenly received a letter from an attorney that you are now the owner of a bed and breakfast? Taking it a step further, it is the home you lived in as a child and was converted to a bed and breakfast after it was sold to pay the debts of your father. How would you feel to learn that the man next door is someone your older sister had a crush on before your family moved away? But the thing that kicks up the pace is not particularly the B and B or the neighbor, but the fact that a burglary ring has been active in the area and someone is seen snooping around the carriage house the first day you arrive back at your former home. This is all happening to Lacey as she steps into the role of owner of the B and B. Add in the fact the B and B is being renovated while she and her son are trying to get acclimated to their new home. For action, clean romance, and suspense, I recommend the book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I've often thought what I would do if I suddenly came into some money and what would I do with it! Well, this happened to Lacey, although she suddenly got a B & B - the house she grew up in - in a will and it was totally unexpected but it came at the perfect time. She is a single mom and very down on her luck. She is in great financial need, having paid off her former husband's debts and wondering what she can do next since she has a son to raise. She is so excited to go back to the house she was raised and has many happy memories. It is a B&B but she looks forward to working there as the owner. And, the added plus is that a childhood friend, Ryan, lives next door and he is the sheriff now! But, then bad things begin to happen around town and Ryan has to deal with a burglary ring, then a dead body in the woods and I wont say more but the book is great! There is lots of action and it's a great story. I loved the secondary characters too! Margaret knows show to write romantic suspense! Definitely pick up a copy of the book and enjoy!

An ancestral home that she grown up in, now through a legacy her’s once again. The income from the B&B for her and her son Shaun, was much needed. The caretaker Mr and Mrs .Bell were now overseeing the renovations. The opening would be soon, and then filled with guests coming. Neighbor and police officer Ryan spotted a man in the back by the carriage house and took off, was he part of the robberies that are now happening. Work is done on the carriage house and they can move in.
Another mishap at the carriage to solve first, Interesting, good characters, a bit of romance and Shaun getting a dog he wanted

Pleasant romance, not very mysterious

Single mother inherits B&B that had been her childhood home. For the first time she and her son will have their own home. Two problems, a dead body who isn't identified and a burglary ring. Her new neighbor, the police chief, lives in the next building to the B&B and her son wants to play with the police chief's dog. As they worry about the criminal who left the dead body and what danger she might be in they all become closer and romance and love enter the picture.
A pleasant beach read.

Ms. Daley is one of my favorite authors, and I enjoyed this book in the Strong Women series. I enjoyed the chemistry between Lacey (a single Mom) & Ryan, and also the added "family" dimensions of the dogs and the Lacey's energetic son Shaun. I highly recommend this clean romantic suspense as well as others in this series.

I loved this one. Lacey was a really good mother, she just wanted a home for her son and she finally found it. Things weren't easy for her in the past but it all worked out in this new town. Ryan was immediatelly smitten with her and with her son and that's so important. They liked each other so they wanted to see where things would go. I liked them as a couple very much

Excellent

Another great book by Margaret Daley! She was gifted a B&B by someone she never knew. This was just what she and her son needed, a new beginning. She never expected to fall in love or be held by a gun pointed at her.

When Lacey St. John receives the letter from Mr. Harold Hopewell’s attorney naming her as the new owner of the Calvert Cove Bed and Breakfast in Calvert County in Maryland, she hopes this is her chance to turn her life around and provide a home for her eight-year-old son, Shaun. The childhood residence she’d grown up in has become a thriving bed and breakfast and now it miraculously belongs to her. Lots of memories, some good, others not so much, surround her converted childhood home. When neighbor Sheriff Ryan McNeil’s dog, Mick, finds Shaun during a game of hide-and-seek with his mom, it’s love at first sight for boy and dog. Ryan introduces himself, and Lacey remembers him as the boy-next-door that her older sister had a crush on. Ryan is working a series of burglaries in the area and strange things begin to happen at the bed-and-breakfast. Will Ryan solve the burglary ring before something happens to Lacey and Shaun? As the three spend more time together, will things work out for them to become a family? Author Margaret Daley is aces when it comes to writing suspense with a hint of romance. Each book in the Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations series is stand-alone. A fast-paced, page turning adventure you won’t want to miss!
