Plot with a Strong Hero
This book definitely has a powerful, skilled and intelligent protagonist, with very little flaws. This story revolves around his heroics and his expert kills. Gautam Shukla is no less than a Bollywood hero and is fast as a lightening. The plot is strong although slow placed. It takes time to finally reach the main story line. The main story picks up in the second half, where the characters plan their actions and the execution takes place.
The first half of the book just explains the history of various characters which didn’t intrigue me and felt unnecessary and dragged. There was no actual progress in the story. There were also certain details which seemed too cliché and typical 70s bollywood drama like ’She stated at the very beginning that she would marry Bhima or marry nobody at all and thereafter spent her days in silence wirting his name over and over again on every surface available.’
Writing Style
I personally did not like the writing style in the book. Since the book is written in third person, the author failed to clearly divide the description of various characters in the beginning. It became very confusing for me to keep a track of each and every character introduced and also to differentiate between the past details and present.
The details of the past of the characters seemed unnecessary and in superfluous detail. The detailing of the present happening in the story were not so much as compared to the past which was a little disappointing for me.
Final Thoughts
I liked that towards the end, there was some progress in the story and the plot became interesting. It gave a window for the author to continue the series. You should read this book if you are looking for a bollywood ‘masala’ story with an exceptional hero and lots of action. However, if you are looking for a book with standard writing, you might not enjoy this one.

Disclaimer: Thanks to HarperCollins India for a copy. All opinions are my own.
A book with a strong storyline never fails to entertain the readers. A thriller is one of the toughest genres to pull off. Set against the background of the militarily as well as mafia, Himalayan White is an action thriller. An ex-military officer pulled into the mafia war as well as fighting against anti-nationals will attract the readers. This fast paced thriller is an exceptional movie marterial. The action sequences could be visualized in three dimensions. The geo-political scenario is depicted with responsibility as well as finesse. The twists and turns at the right timing makes the book unputdownable. The romance and making out between Gautam and Nisha was unwanted. Why do all the thrillers require a squeezed in distraction of love and sex is beyond my comprehension. Without these also the book is excellent in fact better. Angad's character could have been developed a little more. Both antagonists were shown in the third person narration rather than the scenarios where in they act and react in person, which weakened the character build up. Overall, the book is a riveting thriller which is highly recommended to the action lovers.
