Typical Chinese web novel with the Wuxia, Xianxia & Xuanhuan elements. If you have read one, you have read them all

The review is for all the 1309 chapters. This is only the Fifth fan translated novel I have read, from Chinese to English. Been binge reading them since I discovered the new world of translated Japanese/Korean/Chinese web novels.

This is a book with a huge amount of world-building with an in-depth magic system but when you look at the standard of wordsmith it is mediocre at best, do consider what I read is fan translation.

At for the plotting and storytelling itself, the starting was really good. Really enjoyed the growth of the MC from a mediocre youngster to a powerhouse. The ending did feel a bit like a downer but in comparison to other similar works, it is much better.

I love this so much better than the drama adaptation. I mean Lin Dong drama was a little too much of an immature brat. And I really love seeing the family dynamic here. Where you could see his family member going from disdain to respecting his view and opinions. And like that the Lin Dong in the novel is clear more level headed, cautious and truly a hard worker. We can see that he is someone who doesn’t rest on in laurel and always strive to improve himself.

This is one of my favorite male lead novel, it has a lot of mixed emotions, adventures and life lessons (for me) magic, too many suspense actions and dramas. Anyway, I just dont like the Harem part(you know why! hehe) I finished the novel online for two months, binge reading haha! I highly suggest it :)

the story is somehow amazing but the action and scenes are always redundant and you eventually you will feel that this happen before ,

Impressed with the new power system. The hero is a bit OP but still bearable. Character development is great.

Chinese edition; completed in audiobook.
Will probably end up reading or at least skimming the rest of the translation once it's complete.
