4 Yummy Detective Stars

 photo simon-cereal-it-was-great_zpsj1aotrg8.gif

Watch Me the 2nd book in the The Donovan Family Series was a great read for me. Although my OCD was driving me crazy the whole read because I read book 4 first and I always read books in order so I had to keep telling myself it was a standalone. Which really it can be read as a standalone too. Like his twin Connor from book 4, Quinn was a yummy Detective. Men in uniforms nuff said!!

I think I loved Quinn a bit more. Quinn had a naughty side that I really liked. He also knew the moment he met Tessa that he wanted her and that they had a special connection. He went after her like a dog with a bone. He was so sweet and protective. I liked Tessa a lot which if I'm going to be honest shocked me because she could be a bit of a coward in the book. She had a really good reason and that probably helped. It also helped that she was very down to earth, likable, and didn't treat Quinn badly. They had a instant connection relationship and were inseparable. They had a ton of passion at times I think my glasses fogged up.

One of the things I love about this series and although they have some suspense in them they are still sweeter easy going reads. I can just sit back and enjoy the ride. Get a romantic love story, and fall in love with the whole Donovan family. There is a strong family bond in this book with the Donovans. There was this one moment with Quinn and his mom Rose that was so touching. I love the twins Quinn and Connor together. Yummy Twin cops * M-mmm* ! Great read and now I am off to read little sister Mia's book!

Tessa Porter is a second shift night nurse. Returning home after work, she finds her apartment has been broken into. The most disturbing thing is what the culprit did to all her underwear. She's surprised when a detective shows up who responds to the call. He's the gorgeous guy who lives in the apartment in the next building ... and she's been fantasizing about him for weeks.

Since there are no dead bodies and Quinn Donovan is a homicide detective, he turns the case over to Robbery .. which suits him just fine since he has a rule never to date a woman in one of his cases.

The attraction is immediate and burns really, really hot. But Tessa also has a rule .. she won't date a cop. Quinn is determined to find out the reason why.. but Tessa isn't talking.

Tessa's neighbor reports that she has seen a man at her apartment door several times. Quinn is now personally involved, so he starts his own investigation into all the men that Tessa knows from work.

There's the X-Ray Tech who has repeatedly asked Tessa out, but she's always refused. He can be a bit cruel in his approach to her. There's Dr. Hunter, who's good-looking but his arrogance is a real turn off. There's Hunter's assistant ... but he's so shy around all the nurses, even though he's constantly watching. It could by any of them, or none of them. But Quinn is determined to keep his woman safe.

Warning: Contains explicit sex and graphic language. The book is listed as Contemporary / Romantic Suspense, but it borders on Erotica.

The story line is a good one, and it's well written. This is the second book in the series and does well as a stand-alone. The Donovan Family is kinda growing on me. Quinn is such a good guy. Any man who will go his own mother for advice on love rates really high on my scoreboard. I liked Tessa, but I think some of her attitude was a bit overdone.

All in all, now that I've read books 1 and 2 ..... I'm more inclined to read the rest of the series.

“Brushing her hair to the side, he kissed her, and she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back. As their kiss deepened, he briefly considered blowing off lunch with his family.”

4 frisk me stars! Who can resist a sexy cop?? Not this girl!

Tessa is a nurse and after returning home one night she’s welcomed by her apartment being broken into. Imagine her surprise that when the cop that comes to write the report is her sexy neighbor that she’s been lusting after. She may have seen him through his window one day and hasn’t looked at him the same since. Quinn has also watch Tessa through her window and he can’t help but be intrigued when he finally meets her in person. The attraction between these two is off the charts and neither of these two can deny it. And while Quinn falls fast and hard, Tessa has a secret she’s hiding that can ruin everything between these two.

This series is sexy and so fun and just when you think you can’t love it anymore, the next book makes you fall hard!! I love the angst and the sexiness of this book! Tessa and Quinn are so hot together, I mean it’s hard not to love this book! This book is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone!

This book was a hot mess, and not in a good way. It gained one star, though, because the author never used the word "bae" even once. (I know; that's pathetic. I just finished some of her earlier books in this series where the word was overused to the point of annoyance.)

Where to begin? Voyeurism, bondage, insta-lust themes are not for me. The homicide detective was so blinded by lust that he used poor judgment, and in one huge violation of professional disrespect stepped all over a colleague's case. These two deserved each other. I'm just sorry I watched their train wreck. 1½ stars

4+ Stars ⭐⭐⭐🌟 WATCH ME opens with a brief glimpse into Tessa’s male work relationships, quickly transitioning to a voyeuristic scene involving Quinn and Tessa. Thus setting the tableau for this story. Tessa comes from an emotionally distant family and has a tragic personal history, which has left her with thick walls around her heart. Quinn, however, has a loving (if somewhat intrusive) family background. Although he has also faced past tragedy, he remains more open to forming a loving connection, even if that’s not what he initially seeks. It’s easy to see where the romantic conflict in this tale will arise, making for an interesting and engaging read. Add in the suspense and intrigue of a creepy stalker, and you have a book filled with emotional highs and lows, captivating twists, moments of heartache, and plenty of steamy passion. All these elements keep you entertained and immerse you in a story you will thoroughly enjoy from start to finish.

Tessa and Quinn's Romance!

This book was thrilling. The riveting plot was filled with suspense, tension, some action, uneasy feelings, meeting a loving family, an epiphany, and falling in love. Tessa and Quinn, the protagonists, were ideally suited for each other and gushed with chemistry. Overall, I liked the captivating narrative.

Nice story

Seems Quinn might become the first Donovan to fall in love. Until she tells him she cannot be with a cop. There is someone threatening her and he insists on protecting her. And still hoping to win her over.

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

I love how this book begins. Two strangers unable to stop watching each other and never knowing the other one witnessed their private moments of pleasure. There's nothing like coming face to face with the one person who made you lose control and starred in your fantasies. It's an explosion waiting to happen.

Tessa is a nurse who works late hours, when she comes home one night to discover her apartment had been violated there will come sunshine to her gloom in the form of Officer Donovan. He'll protect her and make her feel safe...even going way beyond the means of his job.

Quinn is a homicide detective who wasn't looking for anything serious, but once he laid eyes on Tessa and realized who she was there was no stopping the desire that raged inside him or the lengths he'd go to protect her. He's overly sweet and always tries to do the right things, even when he'd rather do anything but.

"I'll stay with you tonight, as long as you need me here. I'll sleep on the couch. Or you can stay in my apartment. You can sleep in my bed and I'll take the couch. And maybe tomorrow, after we both...settle down, we can talk about this. Figure out what's happening here and what we want to do about it."

She leaned back and a tiny smile curved her mouth. Her eyes twinkled. "Aren't those supposed to be the woman's lines, Donovan? Aren't I supposed to be the one who wants to talk about it? The one who asks if you'll respect me in the morning?"

She determined to keep things casual because of a past that still haunts her.

He's determined to have her no matter the odds.

Watch Me is hot, their chemistry sizzles upon the pages, and there's just enough suspense to keep you on edge wondering what will happen next. The storyline will draw you in, but the characters will keep you addicted.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: There's just something humorous about a little extra attention at a baseball game, especially when Rose shows up.

Tessa and Quinn are neighbors that didn't know each other, until one day someone breaks into Tessa's apartment, Quinn, a detective, comes to investigate. The couple quickly jumps into a relationship, even while Tessa vows never to date another cop.

I enjoyed the story, but I felt like the couple jumped into a relationship too quickly. There wasn't any real build-up. They basically jumped into a relationship as soon as they met, which was a little too unrealistic for me.

Despite the fact I would have liked to see more of a build-up, I enjoyed the book. Tessa and Quinn were great together, and was great watching them learn to trust each other enough to tell them their secrets and confide in each other when they had a bad day.

We get to see the Donovan clan, and they have such a great interaction with one another. They're clearly a tight-knit family, and it was fun to watch their interactions. They have each other's backs, and it was nice to see how easily they welcomed Tessa to the group just because they knew she was important to Quinn.

Ok so this is Quinn's story. I thought this series would be great, continued characters, hot family of cops who love each other and meet once a month to all have lunch together and go to their mom's for dinner. Who wouldn't think this would be a great foundation for amazing stories? Well me, and I would be wrong! The Donovans themselves are great. It's the women they fall for that suck!! In the first book our h (who was a Donovan) pushed the H away but not to annoyingly. However in this book ugh I wanted to throw my kindle, smack our h and yell WTF all at once. Tessa is a scared, annoying, weak character that gives redheads and nurses a bad name (from one redheaded RN' s opinion at least) almost from the beginning she pushes Quinn away and keeps doing so until the last few pages of the book because he's a cop & he could die!! Fyi we all are!! She knew he was a cop going into the relationship, why is he then punished through out the whole book because she is a scared insecure weak character? I am not a fan of weak annoying female characters and I won't continue reading anything by this author due to that fact. Two strikes, two weak heroine' s equal no third chance!

Having read and reviewed Find Me I was happy to have the author ask me if I would like to read another of her books in the Donovan Family series. I wasn’t sure what to expect but having enjoyed the first book was eager to read the second one.

Quinn and Tessa have bedroom windows that face one another and both have gotten more than a glimpse of their neighbor through those windows. Before they meet they are both rather hot and bothered. When Tessa comes home from work one evening to find her home has been broken into she calls 911. The first on the scene happens to be her neighbor, Quinn. Immediate attraction is not enough to breach all of Tessa’s reservations regarding dating a policeman but how the two to spend their time together and eventually fall in love is definitely worth reading.

This book is one I would recommend to those looking for a contemporary romance with interesting characters and explicit love scenes

I was looking forward to reading Quinn's story and I enjoyed it a lot. The romance between Quinn and Tessa was sweet, romantic and had lots of heat. They have both secretly watched and admired each other from afar but had never met until Tessa had a break in at her apartment. They are instantly attracted to each other and the pair get together fairly quickly. The suspense takes a back seat to the romance and I would have liked that aspect of the story to have been a little bit more fleshed out. The writer created a really creepy villain who was after Tessa but the author didn't really take advantage of it. I would have liked to see more danger thus legitimising Quinn's overprotective response to the situation.
Overall a good book and a series that I will continue to follow and read.

Tessa, a nurse, and Quinn, a detective, are neighbors who have watched each other through their windows but have never met and don't know each other. When Tessa arrives home and finds her apartment has been broken into, Quinn responds to the call. They are attracted to each other and begin a relationship. They fall for each other quickly even though Tessa is scared to love someone and possibly lose them. As in other books in the series, there is lots of heat between the main characters. I also love getting to see the other members of the Donovan family and their interactions with each other. Looking forward to reading more of the Donovan family in the future.

I received this for my honest review. This is the second book I've read in this series, Tessa and Quinn are neighbours that didn't know each other apart from seeing each others lower bodies through the window. Until one day someone breaks into Tessa's apartment Quinn who is a detective gets the call just as he is arriving home. This takes you in to their instant attraction but there are lots of hurdles to jump and I think it makes great reading as the other Donovans come into it so you are getting a great picture of family loyalty and friendliness and romance.

I received this book I exchange for an honest review. This second book of the series is about Tessa and Quinn and if you ask me this is one of the sexist of the series. Tessa is scared and Quinn is the player of the Donovan Clan so it is a lot of fun watching the two of them try to fight the growing attraction while trying to solve her stalker problem. As the other books this is a fun and erotic read while watching the interaction between the family.

> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < <
Split-screen style composition. Bold Title, strong author font. Intriguing synopsis.

> > Looking Deeper < <
POV ~> Third-person

Tessa is a post-op nurse at a prominent hospital in The Windy City. Quinn is a CPD homicide detective. He's just returning home from work one night when the 911 call goes out that there was a break-in in the building next to his, so he runs over, seeing as he's closest and can respond quicker if there's danger for the resident. To his shock and surprise, the call came from the woman he had spied through his window and fantasized about ever since.
I like these two as individuals. They are smart and independent, but their chemistry is insane. When they are together, they can hardly keep their body parts to themselves. The secondary cast mostly consist of her coworkers and his family, with a smattering of other CPD and a sweet old lady across the hall. The story is dynamic, entertaining and a pleasure to read. The conflicts were mostly internal struggles that needed to be addressed, in Tessa's case, I probably would have suggested grief counseling. Unfortunately for me, I picked up on the "bad guy" immediately so I was a little disappointed in the reveal. I was also aware that the robbery detective was pretty scarce, even after the confrontation and no one mentioned him at the end, although it should have still been his case.
Implied HEA for our couple, but I think they'll be a work-in-progress in the background of future books. I look forward to reading more of this series and can't wait until Connor meets his match!
