Three Brothers. One mating ritual. Equals one night of sexy, sizzling passion...
Reckless. Wild. Callous. All words that could easily describe the eldest Hawthorne brother, Phoenix.
Ever since the fated morning he'd been tricked by an undine into stumbling unwanted into an ancient dragon ceremony he knew he'd screwed up bad. He'd looked into the eyes of a dragonborne and without knowing it then, tethered her heart to his forever.
Madison Draconian is one pissed off dragon. From the day of her hatching she's been bound to Phoenix, but the idiotic, surly grizzly seems to think that if he flirts with other woman she'll be forced to accept that fate doesn't control them. Thing of it is, Madison could care less about fate. She wants that bear because he's hers. Period. And this is one dragon who'll stop at nothing to get her man...
Selene Charles is the pen name of a NY Times and USA Today bestselling author.
She is an avid penguin sweater knitter. She believes that unicorns really do exist and that skittles aren't really candy at all. She enjoys skydiving in the arctic, chatting with her polar bear friends around a warm campfire while sipping on warm cocoa, and she used to work in a travelling carnival which is where she got all these crazy ideas from. Only two of these statements are actually true.

I love Selene's books anyway, but this is a wonderful addition to the Mating Fever series. Phoenix is determined to not ruin his mates life but when forces beyond their control take over there's nothing but dragon's heat between them!
I absolutely enjoyed reading Phoenix. It's a fast paced short story that really brings you into the characters lives. You feel their frustration and pain, you cheer them on and occasionally want to Gibb's smack a certain stubborn bear, but in the end you get to see how they come together as well as see how the brothers all live happily ever after.
Selene did a wonderful job creating this little world in Kodiak and this book helps wrap everything up with warm and fuzzies for everyone.
I def, recommend this to people who enjoy a quick paranormal read. You won't be sorry!
Phoenix is the middle brother of bear shifters. He's reckless when he's bored and that always lands him into big trouble!
When he's dared by a nymph to go to a secluded cave when he's just 17 years old, he interrupts the birth of Royalty dragon eggs. When the son is born, he doesn't open his eyes until he senses his mate. But when Madison, deemed to be the next Queen, scents the bear secretly watching the show, she opens her eyes and they are instantly bonded.
With the help of August, his brother, he talks to the Dragons and promises that his brother will remain pure until they mate. Meanwhile, Madison is linked to the stubborn bear who treats her terrible for years. Because he's hers, she can't leave him and fly the world like most young dragons do.
When the brothers have their mating ceremony and Phoenix realizes that Madi is his mate, he's ashamed with how terrible he'd treated her for years. Just when she's about to release him from his bonding; he comes to his senses and realizes that he won't live without her.
I just hated how she forgave him for years of torture.
Phoenix's book definitely did NOT disappoint. We learn how Madison and Phoenix ended up as they did in the first book. What turns took them on the collision course that they were on. I learned one thing, never trust an undine. Especially when she is out to mess with a whole line of shifters and their normal course. We watch as we see the train wreck that seems to be coming. Will the collision of the two survive or will one be killed? You're going to have to read and find out what Urich wants to do to Phoenix and why. This series has definitely not been dull or boring and was entertaining from start to end. It was great meeting Chance, August, and Phoenix. You're going to have to read to see what explosive things happen in this book. Enjoy it!
Just goes to show how silly males can be. Lots of love and lots of anguish caused by male stupidity. However, regardless, the females are the brains. Good reading.
This was a fun read but also sweet and heart felt. Phoenix a bear shifter has to come to terms with being mates to Madison a Dragon shifter so they can find their HEA
Of the three Hawthorne brothers, Phoenix has always been the risk-taker. The one who intentionally put himself into dangerous situations, just because he was bored. All that changed when he was 18, though, after he was accidentally bonded to a dragon. Since then, he has done his best to make things right - even if it means breaking his dragon's heart...
Madison is miserable. After accidentally claiming Phoenix as her mate on the day she was hatched, she has had to basically give up her beloved skies to stay close to Phoenix. Not that he appreciates it - he's pretty much ignored her since the day she claimed him. But now it's time for his mating ceremony, and she hopes it shows Phoenix that she DIDN'T claim him by mistake - that he really is her One True Mate. Because otherwise, she will be spending the next few millennia mourning a bear that wasn't meant to be hers - since Dragons mate for life.
Phoenix is the third brother in the Bears of Kodiak series. At the age of eighteen he recklessly walks into a dangerous situation so as not to be thought a coward. That decision not only changed his life but that of a young female dragon. Madison has been tied to Phoenix from the moment she saw him at her hatching. The only problem is he’s not tied to her…and will be undergoing a ritual to find his true mate. Selene Charles makes you love the characters and feel for them. The reader will both laugh and cry over the struggles faced by these two fascinating shifters. I couldn’t put his book down until the end. This was a fast and fun read that will make you smile.
I officially confess. I am a dragon groupie. The story of big brother Phoenix and gorgeous Maddi starts off quite sadly but quickly accelerates into a passionate story with two strong characters and Ms Charles paints a hilarious picture of these two headstrong people bumping heads and ultimately falling more deeply in love. I LOVED this book! from page one I was invested n the characters and I am amazed at how the author is able to gratifyingly bring this story to conclusion in only a few short pages. This is the satisfying conclusion to the mating story of the 3 Hawthorne brothers and while short, definatly worth the read.
As the third of the brothers after reading the first two books I knew quite a bit about Phoenix - or so I thought. But this book took me by surprise and sucked me right into a lovestory riddled with misunderstandings and deep emotions, subterfuge and misconceptions, funny quirks and so much romance! I loved the dragons, even though I can imagine how problematic such a ritual can be. As you see in this book. From then on it's breathtaking and sensual and I just couldn't put it down. I'd love to read more about this world and its inhabitants!
Amazing fast read!! This is the best one out of the three brother trilogy. We get a hint of how complicated the relationship between Madison and Phoenix is in one of the brother's book. I couldn't wait to read this one. Phoenix the older of the Hawthorn clan is pretty much the biggest screw up of the three. He doesn't think he just goes with it no matter the consequence. Showing up to the hatching of Madison he really screws up when she chooses him as her mate. Or did he!? This is a great fast paced short read. Anything from this author is a hot and fun ride!!
Phoenix stumbled into trouble at every turn, and if he ever found himself bored mischief was sure to follow. One morning he stumbles into a very important right of passage and changes not only his life but the life of a young woman forever.
Phoenix and Madi definitely get off to a rough and rather untraditional start. Their story was a wonderful read, and I also enjoyed that this book brought the stories of our 3 brothers into a beautiful ending for all of them.
This book was a fun read, and I will definitely be reading this series again.
You only get one true mate and when you accidentally find yours in a dragon, things get dicey! This book is about Madison, a dragon and Phoenix, a bear. How they meet, how they accidentally get mated and how they create a life together. Or do they? This is a fast read book by Selene Charles. You will enjoy it! It is excellent! But all her books are.
Finally the grand finale and I wasn't disappointed. It was everything I expected and more, because everything with Phoenix is complicated. I loved how she brought him to heel and claimed her grizzly.
Good read. Phoenix and Madison went through a lot in order to be together. Glad to see then get over past hurts and misunderstandings to reach the love that was formed on that fated day.
This book tied the series together nicely and rounded a few loose ends. Another story skillfully told by Selene. Thanks for sharing your world with us :-D
