For cavemouse Geronimo Stiltonoot, life is one prehistoric problem after another! In the lagoon near Old Mouse City, cavemice have discovered a giant oyster. It holds a pearl of megalithic proportions! Since the mice of the lagoon don't have the tools to fish the oyster out of the water, they call on Geronimo Stiltonoot to help. Can figure out how to get the pearl before the saber-toothed tigers catch wind of it?

I wanted to rate this book a 4 but I rated it a five. You ask why?
Because this book is very informational and has a lot of fact on how transparent walls are created. it was quite and I learned from it the book didn't have any mystery but it was very funny and crazy. the sabre-toothed squad just jumped out of nowhere because they were getting attacked by jumping ants. The title of the book actually kinda spoiled the book. the title could have been the stone age mission because then it wouldn't have given away the plot of the book which here was about the pearls. I think that this is the first book which doesn't come under the category mystery which I have given a good review on. the cavemice series seem very nice. I have read another one of the books from this series. I think these series kinds of shows how people used to live in the stone age. it gives facts and explains interesting details on this period. I also like history and this may be one of the reasons why I'm impressed by this series.

Besides the made up mouse based words these stories are very creative and family oriented for kids. My 4.5 year old loves them and stays engaged despite the fact that there are not detailed photos on every single page. They are a quick read and average around 120 pages or so. They have proved to be a great introduction to chapter books and something that I enjoy reading to him every night! I would highly recommend them as either a starter or to anyone whose kid likes to follow characters through various adventures.
