Love the Gods that she brings into the story - action packed

This series started strong with unique circumstances, exciting characters, and pretty easy to follow world building. I liked the three couples in these books as they offered variations on the stock romance characters.
The biggest issue I have with this series started early and persisted: the narration is 3rd person and shares thoughts from multiple characters within the same scene. In the first book I thought "rookie mistake" but as it continued, I started to wonder why no editor had mentioned how confusing it was. By the third book the only thoughts being shared were the two lead characters, but even still there was a definite toggle between them in the same scene.
It may not (must not) bother other readers, and in fact I wrote a blog about the possibility of multiple protagonists in a single book which would necessitate a kind of head-hopping, but other books follow multiple protagonists by shifting perspective at the chapter break, not mid-scene. Ultimately the lack of focus took away from my enjoyment of the books.
I realize these are fantasy romance books, not literary fiction. My criticism may seem unfair. In the end, though, I just want the writing to improve over the length of time I'm engaged with the books and it never did.

Can't put these books down.
Really love this series. As new characters are introduced they are a perfect fit for the existing storyline. Her characters are have so many sides and depth to them. They come from such dark places but learn to rise above the haunting tragedies in their past. It's adventure, science fiction and romance all in one. I'm so glad I stumbled across this series. I can't put them down.
