I'm a Dave Ramsey fan, so I reread the book. Any book he writes or suggests, I'm on it. Since 2011, his program has helped me so much and I am very, very close to being debt free.
This book was okay. I liked how interactive it is, but I felt like a lot of the questions repeated themselves. I loveee Dave Ramsey, this just wasn’t my favorite book of his. IT IS really good for helping raise awareness on your bad habits. I just am just already pretty self aware. Overall 3/5.
This book was a gift (as part of 3 books) from my sister after graduating college. It was very timely, as I didn't yet have a full time job and was starting to evaluate my financial situation which included a lot of student loan debt. While I completely disagree with Dave Ramsey's political beliefs, I think he has a lot of insight into human behavior around money. His books helped me to come to grips with my debt load and rethink the expectations of society around money (glad I didn't try to buy a place in 2007 with no down, when I was told I should by others).
Nicely written book. A lot of the details from this book made there way into Dave's Total Money Make Over. If I was to suggest a starting point to some one in need of financial help I would point them toward the Total Money Make Over. Once they get started and are making progress this book and Financial Peace are a great review.
In this book Dave takes a more comprehensive look at examining your life with several checklists to help accomplish this. It is a pretty good book. If you are serious about changing your life and having "more than enough" it would probably be good to buy the book as there are so many checklists in there.
I really liked some of the ideas in this book/workbook. Admittedly, I didn't do every activity, but it did give me things to think about as I go forward in life.
