"You took everything in my life that is wrong and made it okay."

"The past few months, we have grown apart, but only because he's been sticking his dick into Tiffany What's-Her-Name, much to my shock and dissapointment."Courtney Bennett is a Hollywood actress who is starting to feel the pain of being passed over for roles because of her age. Clinging to her assistants and handlers, her entire world crumbles when her Hollywood husband dumps her for a younger woman. She finds solace in the Colorado home of Wes Young her new bodyguard.

"Do you understand? I'm never going to fall in love with you."Wes, a former Marine, is certainly taken with his new houseguest. However, he has no interest in getting involved romantically with his new client. Not to mention, she is heartbroken and married. But when Courtney and Wes begin to spend more time together, he decides maybe a little fun would be just what the doctor ordered.

"Shock gripped him as he realized he had no desire to run. No desire to push. Fort the first time in his life, every part of his being was screaming the word 'stay'."Told in dual POV, The Break-up was quite an enjoyable read. Both main characters are complex, and together they are a perfect match. The physical attraction between the two was intense, and the pages were drenched with plenty of steam. I thoroughly enjoyed the multilayers within this plot. Not only are the main characters finding their way together, but they are also repairing their individual resolve. The determination in Courtney to rebuild her self-esteem and the way that Wes gives her support along the journey made this read especially rewarding. To state it plainly, it's always romantic to have a hero that is ready to save the heroine but only after she recognizes that she can save herself. As with the other books in this series, family is a prominent theme. Harper (Wes' sister) and Wes' Dad play a pertinent role in helping Wes heal. I love the family dynamics in ths series and the way they support each other. The tempo of the writing was well paced, and I enjoyed every moment of their journey.
"Somehow, he knew exactly how to touch her, exactly what she needed."
