This is not a book or an audiobook. It is a recording of Dave Ramsey giving a sermon/presentation to a live audience about the importance of knowing that our money belongs to God, not us.

I don't know why this is on Goodreads, but I added it to my "currently reading" list when I downloaded it for free and thought it was an audiobook.

This is only an hour long, and the content is good, but it shouldn't be on Goodreads unless we plan to add every radio show, podcast, and sermon we listen to to Goodreads.

I know it took me way to long to actually get around to reading Dave's book. As he points out, he just repackaged old ideas to try to reach more people. I found it well laid out and his goals for each person financially were good. We differed in opinion on life-insurance and secured credit cards, but since 1995 when this was printed (an knowing there are many newer copies out there) I think the financial landscape has changed some in those areas. If you don't know what to do with your money I strongly encourage you to read his book or one by Larry Burkett (often referenced in Dave Ramsey's book). They are both Christian men hoping to impart good financial skills to others.

It was a simple and organized help self book for people who don't speak finance. I like the intelligible and numeric steps to get out of debt, curb your spending and help save your money. Recommend for everyone who either need a step by step guide or just a nice reminder on what your financial priorities should be. The worksheets in the back are great tools!

A bit dated in the numbers since it was first published, but man, I wish I had read this 40 years ago. I could be retired by now. The concepts and principles are exactly what I have learned the hard way over the years and now I need to get my kids and their spouses to buy into them.
