"Nailed" by Tara Wyatt

Follow the rough-around-the-edges Hennessys and the women who snag their hearts in DIRTY WORK, a contemporary romance anthology with novellas by Amanda Heger, Harper St. George, and Tara Wyatt.
Harper St. George was raised in rural Alabama and along the tranquil coast of northwest Florida. It was a setting filled with stories of the old days that instilled in her a love of history, romance, and adventure. By high school, she had discovered the historical romance novel which combined all of those elements into one perfect package. She has been hooked ever since.
She lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and two children. When not writing, she can be found devouring her husband's amazing cooking and reading. She would love to hear from you. Please visit her website at harperstgeorge.com
Let's face it, the anthology thing has gotten a bit out of control. I mean, who the heck is going to read twenty-five different books in one whack ? (That's my personal issue with large anthologies talking, I know I've read several anthologies I've enjoyed. ) Well, I'm here to tell you that Tara Wyatt, Harper St. George and Amanda Heger are definitely doing to anthology right. In fact, I might be tempted to call this the anti-anthology. What we have here is three lovely little books for your reading enjoyment and this is a GREAT way to sample a writer's style and determine if you'd like to read more. All three of these are second chance love stories and I truly enjoyed EVERY SINGLE ONE! I made the wise decision to read these on my vacation and they were just the right length and they weren't too heavy emotionally. While I was familiar with Tara Wyatt and she is a favorite author of mine, after reading Heger and St. George's contributions, I'll definitely be reading more by them as well!
I have never actually read an anthology before, so I was quite excited when the possibility to review Dirty Work arose. I wasn't sure what to expect but loved the idea, the premise of each novella was intriguing and I loved how all three heroes were related. Now let me start with this: The world needs more Hennessy men! I for one, would sign up for one of those immediately.
Uprooted - 4 Stars
We start off with Chris Hennessy, a sweet, loyal and caring landscaper with the forearms of a God. Yes. Please. Chris plays opposite to Natalie, a girl who fled town and still suffers from the effects of a tragedy many years earlier.
First off, it was fantastic for Amanda to include small reminiscing moments of these two as teenagers and what they had together. The reader is given bits and pieces throughout the novella about their past as a couple, and you can see how that influenced how they act around each other now. I don't think Natalie had any chance of being around Chris without falling back in love with him, and Chris practically worshipped the ground that she walked on. He was incredibly swoony and perfect to help Natalie overcome her struggles.
Uprooted is a fast paced, cute read which packs an emotional punch that will leave you swooning for days. The author keeps you guessing with secrets of the past with developmental growth in the present. Chris is everything. Natalie is fantastic. And Cormack, can't forget about him! Who doesn't love an old dog who thinks he's a goat? I totally would have adopted him.
Revved - 3.5 Stars
Revved is a journey of two characters finding their way back together that will leave you wishing for more.
I might be slightly influenced by my love for the Fast and the Furious franchise, but there's something extremely sexy about street racers/mechanics, am I right? Enter Sage Hennessy. True to the Hennessy name, Sage is loyal and has a big heart, but you know what else? He has swagger, he's confident, he's the guy that all the girls flock to.
I had a few more problems with this story as opposed to the other two and I think it has a lot to do with the heroine. I couldn't really connect with her and at times she seemed to have a 'woe is me' complex. I applaud her for finally taking control of her life, but the way she came across and some of her reactions were a little confusing for me.
This also seemed quite short, as it was mostly just two flashback scenes and the main couple having two or three conversations in the present. The story revolved around solving a previous conflict, rather than the characters rediscovering each other. I would have loved for this to be expanded on a bit.
But that ending. Dear LORD that ending! Sage! Rachel! ((I'm just over here smiling like an idiot and swooning.))
Nailed - 4.5 Stars
If you've ever had a fantasy about a hot construction worker, can you please raise your hand? *throws arm in the air, calmly, of course.*
Okay, now that we have that settled, let me introduce you to Adam Hennessy. Adam not only shares the same traits as the other boys, but he's funny, full of wit and has no problem sparing with Charlie. Physical description wise, he is definitely not my type, but that's what I love about reading, you fall for the character's thoughts and soul, not appearance, and I definitely fell for Adam (and Sage and Chris).
Charlie was one feisty heroine and I loved her to pieces. Even from the first encounter between these two, you know it's going to be one hell of a ride. Her emotion is palpable and completely justified, which was fantastic. These are common feelings, this could happen to and hurt anyone. She's relatable and as a reader, I was drawn to that.
This novella was my favourite of the anthology and I'll tell you why with one simple reason: I didn't want it to end. I wish these two had a full length novel, I wasn't ready to let go of them yet! Wyatt is precise and to the point with creating a story that flows effortlessly. Nailed was a true joy to read.
Final Thoughts
Each novella in this anthology shared some qualities while still being unique in their own right. My favourite similarity has to be the three heroes and how even with each being a different man (they are cousins), they were a cohesive unit in that their values, morals and attributes were the same. Get ready for some swoon worthy, hard working men because these Hennessy boys need to come with a warning label!
Another fantastic similarity was how each hero and heroine have previously had a relationship. I think this was an excellent creative choice in that if they were completely new couples each time, it could be too much information and development to try and cram into a shorter piece of work. Each author gives enough description and background info on each couple to make the past relationships not only believable but feel right. Trust me when I say you are routing for each couple the entire way through their respective stories.
As being my first anthology, I really enjoyed Dirty Work! My rating is coming from a culmination of each story and my thoughts on such. This is the first (so far!) piece of work I've read by any of these lovely ladies, so I'm definitely interested in trying out some more in the future.
*An ARC was received from one of the authors in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first anthology that I've ever read. I don't know if it was a conscious choice to not have picked one up ... in the past, I've not been a fan of novellas because they didn't seem like full and complete stories to me. I'll be honest, if one of my favorite authors hadn't asked me to give it a read, I probably wouldn't have given it more than a glance since it is an anthology. I'll admit ... and please don't tell my husband because he doesn't think it's possible ... but I was wrong. I must have not picked good novellas in the past because these three ladies are bad. ass.
Oh!! Before I forget ... here's the deal ... when an author writes a book that is so earth-shattering that I add them to my list of trusted authors, I'll just read what they send me without reading a blurb, without looking at any book news or previews ... I just pick it up and start reading. That's what happened with this one. I dove right into it without knowing even one tiny piece of info on it and by the time I got to the second novella, I thought that these authors had lost their minds. Out of the three authors, two of them had used the same last name within their story. Talk about confusing! I thought I'd never keep things straight and as I was questioning their sanity and whether they had taken the time to talk to each other in order to avoid this kind of chaos, I realized ... this anthology is about three dudes from the same family ... hence the same last name ... and I'm an idiot. Anyway ... I just avoided you being an idiot like me. You're welcome. Now go order Dirty Work.
I'm just going to touch on each novella briefly ... they were all rated almost exactly the same with me and I don't want to give away any spoilers; so no long diatribe on each. Again, you're welcome. The first novella, Uprooted by Amanda Heger, was awesome. I knew within the first few pages that it was going to be a five-star reading situation and I was right. Heger told such an intricate and heartwarming story in so few words and it was perfect. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything since it was a shorter story. Everything was well written and it made me add Heger to my list of authors to book-stalk in the future.
Next up is Revved by Harper St. George ... it was really the same type of situation with this book. I adored the characters, the story was so well written and I knew within the first few pages that this was also going to be a five-star novella. It did slow down for me just a tad bit in the middle but for the most part, the five-star feeling didn't diminish until I got to the very end and I actually wanted to give it less stars just because it ended too early. I ADORED Sage and I just wanted more of him.
Last but definitely not least is Nailed by Tara Wyatt. Cheeky little title on this one. Which, I loved. Right from the first page, I was laughing. The back and forth between Adam and his friend was just hilarious and I actually read it twice because I enjoyed that part so much. The rest of the novella didn't disappoint. It's filled with a snarky and sassy heroine that you'll adore and a relentless hero that you can't help but love. It was great from the first page to the last and I was really sad to get to the last paragraph.
All in all, this is an anthology about second chance loves. When you pick this up, be prepared to read at least one novella per sitting. Grab a cup of coffee and go sit down in your comfy chair because you're not getting up until you get to the next novella. I blew through these a lot quicker than I probably should have. I should take my time and savor every single word but when an author is good, and these authors are great, you don't want to take your time because you're on this amazing roller-coaster with unforgettable characters and touching stories and you just don't want it to stop.

Awesome book! The authors make you keep wanting to turn the pages and finish each chapter. I very much enjoyed Tara Wyatt's piece in this anthology. She does so well with making you get attached to the characters and root for them, while also giving you the romance you want in a book.
I really enjoy anthologies, the ones that are connected are the best. Dirty Work is only loosely connected by the Hennessy cousins but enough that you feel the common thread. The only author of this group that I read before is Tara Wyatt but I have a feeling I'll be trying the others as well. I really liked all three stories. As a whole Dirty Work is well-written with characters you wanted to know more about. I'm so glad that I read it. Each story is only about 75 pages so this is a afternoon read. A must read for those looking for something good to read.
Uprooted Uprooted starts the book off. Right away you will find yourself really liking Chris Hennessy. He's such a sweet guy who's worked very hard for all he has. I will admit I liked him much better then I did Natalie but not by that much. This story has tons of emotions in it and you will root for both of them to find happiness.
Revved I really loved Sage. I'm not saying he was my favorite of the Hennessy, I'll just say he called to me the most. So sexy!!! Sage is also a very sweet man. He works hard and parties hard too. From a young age he's stepped up to the plate. As much as I liked him, I can't say the same for Rachel. She was a very weak person and I wasn't sure how much I'd ever like her. By the end of the story she did turn my opinion around. So sexy!!!
Nailed
I think out of all the stories I found this one to be the funniest. I really loved both characters right away. They made me laugh more then once. I felt so bad for Charlie and what Adam did. of course I also understood how he felt too. These two are perfect together. I enjoyed them so much that I would like a longer story for them.
DIRTY WORK is a very enjoyable collection of second chance romances, ranging from sweet to steamy, with charming everyday blue collar heroes, men who do good work with their hands (double entendre intended), strong and sassy heroines, each with a heartfelt story.
I usually avoid reviewing anthologies because of the length and number of books, but one of my favorite authors offered me a copy and I was unable to say no, which is a good thing because I have found a couple more authors whose work I'm interested in checking out. Every one of these books was a solid 4-star read for me and for someone who is not a fan of novellas I have no complaints because there was nothing left out.
In Uprooted by Amanda Heger, Natalie Green gets a chance to face her painful past and heal from it with the support of her old flame and also gets a second chance with him. Natalie had no plans to return to her small town after the events that led to her leaving, and even though she broke his heart, Chris Hennessy is not letting her run away with his heart a second time. This particular story is a very sweet and heartwarming story of forgiveness, healing and finding home. Chris was a very adorable, supportive and caring guy and really was Natalie's safe place.
In Revved by Harper St. George, can a woman on a quest to live life on her terms get a do-over in her love life? Rachel Cambridge broke Sage Hennessy's heart when she dumped him in order to please her parents, but she never forgot him in the eight years since then. After spending most of her life trying to fill the hole her sister's death left in her parents' life, it's time to concede that she never will and live her life on her own terms. First up is reconnecting with the man she never stopped loving but can Sage forgive her? Revved is very steamy and the chemistry between Rachel and Sage was off the charts. Even their emotional connection felt so deep and I loved that Rachel was willing to risk rejection from Sage by putting herself out there and not giving up.
Nailed by Tara Wyatt stakes its claim to cute and rounds out the anthology nicely with humor and wit as two people who have been bruised by love have to decide if they are willing to take another chance on it. When his buddy needs his help fixing the damage to his neighbor's property, the last person Adam Hennessy expects to come face to face with is the online date he stood up without explanation, but he's definitely not going to pass up on the chance to make it up to her and pursue the attraction between them. Charlie Grant's foray into love left her jilted on the eve of her wedding and since then, she has avoided it. Adam is a threat to her peace of mind because she knows she won't recover if he breaks her heart, but will she let her fear rob her of the joy of loving him? This story has so much to love - a snarky heroine, a relentless hero, fun dialogue and very hot sex, all the things I need in my romance.
All in all, DIRTY WORK is very engaging and fun to read.

5 Stars Dirty Work An Anthology brings together three very talented writers, Amanda Heger, Harper St. George and Tara Wyatt! Each writer contributed a story centering on the blue collar Hennessy cousin hunks and the common theme of past romantic heartbreak and second chances. The stories were crafted in such a way that they remained separate works yet showed a connection to the other stories in the anthology. I loved them! Diverse in style and each possessing their own unique voice this was a fun, sexy read that showed off what great authors they are. 5 Stars In Uprooted by Amanda Heger ten years and a past tragedy separate teenage sweethearts only to find when they are unexpectedly reunited the love that they had denied could not be held back. Letting go and finding peace from the past were key to this couple's finding their happily ever after and Ms. Heger did a great job in bringing their story full circle. If you ever doubted landscapers were sexy read this novella and Chris Hennessy will set you straight on that point as he works his charm and focuses his love on the beautifully wounded Natalie Green. Wonderful writing tosses fun and serious moments around for a touching read. 5 Stars In Revved by Harper St. George judgments and bad communication tear young lovers apart. Sage Hennessy is no push over and between licking his wounds and buffing his cars he has had eight years to build a wall around his heart. When Rachel Cambridge, the girl who left him after tearing him down, suddenly returns wanting a second chance at love Sage has to shift gears and reconsider the attraction he thought died. Ms. St. George takes a seemingly irreparable situation and shows readers a believable scenario as their love reawakens. With fine writing and a moving reunion this was a steamy and well put together work. 5 Stars In Nailed by Tara Wyatt bad timing and past heartaches war with yearning hearts. When genuine and handsome carpenter Adam Hennessy has a favor called in by his best buddy, who demolished his neighbors fence and deck, Adam's past catches up with him. The neighbor, spunky sports journalist Charlie Grant, is none other than the woman he pursued on line for months and then stood up for their first date. Commitment phobic these two gun shy people re-entered the dating world as their past relationships held their hearts hostage. The effort to gain their release was at times laugh out loud funny, sexy, sad and romance at its very best. Ms. Wyatt's writing was spot on as she "nailed' her story. *I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
A sweet second chance romance that is also about forgiveness and moving on. After the pain Natalie went through following the death of her best friend after a party night gone wrong, she left behind her hometown and Chris without a word of explanation.
Ten years later, we get to see them rediscover each other-and nothing has cooled down with them at all. The way they so easily pick up virtually right where they left off shows just how comfortable and matched they really are.
We get to see Natalie work through the pain from a decade ago which she never really let go of, and finally forgive herself. I loved Chris, he was there for Natalie, supporting her and loving her no matter what.
4 stars for Uprooted, Chris really stood out for me in this one.
Revved
Another second chance romance, again with the idea of forgiveness. I have to say, I really liked Sage-he's a hard working, strong and sexy man. Rachel though, what she said to him when she left the first time around...I was not happy about that at all. I am not a fan of people (whether they are characters in a book or a person in real life) who let others dictate their choices and who can't stand up for themselves and what they want...which is exactly what Rachel was like. She may have changed things around later-hence the shot at a second chance-but for me what happened the first time just ticked me off.
It's purely because of Sage that I give this 3.5 stars. Him? He's worth a lot more ;-)
Nailed
It's a common theme with the Hennessy cousins...someone runs the first time around, then we get to enjoy their second chance. This time it was Adam who ran and Charlie who needs to forgive him. And with the sparks that fly between them, it's a good thing Charlie can move past Adam's faux pas.
I loved Charlie's tough, independent personality. She was easy to identify with and like, and aside from her housecleaning habits (the non-existent habits that is), she's a good, strong character with a lot going for her. She guards her heart closely thanks to her ex-fiancé but thankfully learns to push past what he did to her. Good thing, too--because I loved Adam's character and really wanted to see him get his HEA...even after his jerk move the first time around.
I'm a little in-between on the rating for Nailed, so 3.75 stars it is.
Overall
All three stories will satisfy your second chance romance wants, and all three are meant for readers 18+ due to adult language and sexual content. My overall rating for the anthology is 4 stars, and Uprooted is definitely my favorite story of the bunch. In all three the Hennessy guys shine, these men are my favorite part of each story.
Dirty Work is an anthology of short stories written by Amanda Heger, Harper St. George and Tara Wyatt, it could be considered as contemporary romance about the Hennessys cousins so if you´re up for a good story about love and lost and nice guys this is the book for you. The first story – Uprooted by Amanda Heger- introduces us to Natalie and Chris (I love that name!) and of course Cormack the dog, I don´t like to spoil stories but this one is about love, forgiveness and home, yeah - home - because at the end home is where your heart is.
I´d wish it wouldn´t be so short, I liked the characters, the dog and the main theme but at the end I felt like some things were a bit rushed to fit in, I don´t know if the author was in a deadline or what but some things could have been written in a better way.
The second story is Revved by Harper St. George, this was my favorite, I loved the story, the characters, the sex was hot enough to a short story and the way the Rachel and Sage had a new beginning in their lives is something anybody can relate to, I´d definetely like to read more books of the author, these two first stories has something in common, they both are loved and lost, I guess it´s just the way life is. This one made me cry so hard I thought I´d dry myself but that´s the point, didn´t it? Crying so hard you feel relieved.
The third and last one is Nailed written by Tara Wyatt is about Charlie and Adam. It´ss really good but for me not as a good as the previous one, this time there´s no dogs or deaths in the picture but the feeling of rejection every one has experienced once or twice in a lifetime. It was a cute stories but not as emotionally strong as the second one.
The main thing I liked about the book is these characters are not damsels in distress or charming princes in a white horse, they are regular, blue collar people just like you and me. Not young 22 years old naive girls fresh out of college or handsome billionaires waiting to find the next lady willing to be tied up to a bed.
Dirty Work an anthology: Amanda Heger, Harper St. George and Tara Wyatt.
I'm not a big anthology reader, but this one from Amanda Heger, Tara Wyatt, and Harper St George really delivered! All three stories focus on second chance romances. More so, the heroes are connected-they're cousins-so there's a very nice flow between stories which I really appreciated.
Each couple had great chemistry. Heger's couple, Natalie and Chris, were high school sweethearts. She gives them such a well-fleshed out story as they each deal with personal issues while on their road back to each other. It felt like a complete novel to me and I was fully invested in the outcome.
St. George is new to me and I was impressed! Rachel and Sage left my Kindle smoking from their on fire romance. I love a "rich girl/poor boy" story and this one hits all the right marks including hot garage sex! Not gonna lie, Sage was my favorite hero of the anthology as he rocked the bad boy vibe right off the page.
Finally, Wyatt's second chance romance had a slightly different feel with Charlie and Adam giving a second chance to a fairly new romance. They had struck up an online romance months earlier after each found themselves in a failed relationship. When Adam lets his fear of relationships keep him from his and Charlie's first meeting, she is hurt and then angry when Adam shows up on her doorstep. Adam's wooing of Charlie is fun and sexy. And Charlie was such a great heroine, a Boston sports journalist, who can really keep up with the boys.
4 stars for this fun anthology! Heat level: 3.5 I received a copy of Dirty Work from the authors in exchange for honest feedback.
Uprooted- This was a cute little story about a woman who returns home after years away. She's home to sell her grandfather's home. While here she runs into the boy she left behind. This was a pretty short book that feels like it takes seconds to read. It pulled me in and didn't let me go. Natalie was a sweetheart that just wanted to be accepted and Chris was the nicest man that just wanted the girl. ;) The characters were relatable and the story sweet.
Revved- This one was short, very short. I really enjoyed the story. A second chance, girl from the higher class, for from the working class... Story line was great. characters were nice. Sage was a sweetheart and Rachel knew what she wanted but had to make it happen all on her own. but with this being said... I wanted more. I need more. but I'm satisfied, and that's all that matters, right?
NAILED- OOH, I think Charlie and Adam's story was my favorite in this little anthology. A second chance for both of them! Maybe it's because baseball is mentioned that this was my favorite? or maybe because they were both super stubborn and I wanted to bang their heads together, I don't really know, but I really really enjoyed this one. Jared was an idiot and shouldn't have a license by the way!! But his idiotism brought these two together and that's what matters most! ♡
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon An Alpha.
I very much enjoyed this anthology. These hot little reads are fantastic!
Uprooted by Amanda Heger Natalie has to go back to the small town she ran away from after her grandfather dies. She just wants to get it over with and get out of town without running into her past. Until she does. Chris has compared every date for the last 10 years to Natalie. Now she's back and he doesn't want her to run again. I really enjoyed this story. It's written well and flows easily. Told in both Natalie and Chris's POV's.
Revved by Harper St. George Rachel and her friends go to a street race where she first sees Sage. They have a whirlwind relationship and Rachel dumps Sage. Eight years later, she can't stop thinking about Sage and moves back to Atlanta hoping to win him back. This was a fantastic quick read. The writing was great and it flowed well. Told in both Rachel and Sage's POV's.
Nailed by Tara Wyatt Adam owns his own carpentry business. When his friend Jared backs his truck through his neighbor's fence and deck, he askes Adam to fix it for him. Charlie is a sports writer and pissed at what her stupid neighbor did. When she opens her door to see Adam, her online crush that stood her up, standing there to fix her fence and deck. Let the hilarity begin. I absolutely loved and laughed at this story. It is my favorite of this anthology. The writing is fantastic and it flows seamlessly. Told in both Charlie and Adam's POV's.

Uprooted brings the Sunday eye-candy into the limelight.
As Natalie's friend/lawyer and her friends ogle the shirtless man mowing the yard across the street, as they do every week, she just wants to leave. She doesn't need to ogle some stranger, but then he looks up and the past catches up with the present like a freight chain.
Now that she's back in town, even if it's only for a short time, Chris will do any and everything to get her to stay. He's never forgotten that summer they spent together and he wants to get to know her again.
Beware of Chapter Ten, it should be labeled epilogue. The story starts to hit a turning a point and bam you turn the page and it jumps forward.
Revved is a story of lost but never forgotten love.
Rachel fell a little too hard too fast and her little scare had her running away from the one man she ever loved, but many years later she couldn't resist, she needed the closure, to hear his phone was no longer in service, or for it to belong to someone else. What she got was Sage, and hearing his voice brought back everything she'd given up.
Sage never stopped loving the woman who walked out on him and broke his heart, although he sure had tried, and one call, his name in her voice, and all thoughts that he'd moved on were blown to smithereens.
I loved how he called her Princess and how even though their words were saying one thing you could actually feel the truth behind the lies.
Nailed was the sweetest story and quite possibly the hottest in the anthology.
The world is a much smaller place than we realize and Charlie figures that out when her neighbor runs through her fence and into her back porch. She could care less about him, but the man he arranged to fix her property is none other than the man she met online who not only was she falling for but who stood her up and then did a complete disappearing act.
Adam knew the moment he saw Charlie he needed to apologize. He hadn't been ready, but now he is, and he'll do anything within his power to make her realize that this time he's not going anywhere.
The verbal sparring between these two is hilarious, especially when it comes to scenarios like Charlie being locked out of her house.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Meet the Hennessy cousins. Three different men, and their stories. Told by three different authors in their own way.
Chris, landscaper, and Natalie, in town to sort her grandfather's estate out, have history. When their paths cross, its clear neither really forgot what they had, and they both think that maybe, just maybe, they can have that again.
Sage, mechanic, had his heart broken by Rachel when she up and left, spouting that he was never gonna be good enough for her. But Rachel's heart was broken too, just not for the reason she said. Will Sage let her back in?
And Adam, carpenter, signed up for online dating, arranged to meet Charlie and then realized that maybe he wasn't ready. But when Adam is tasked to fix Charlie's porch after his friend wrecked it, he sees it as a sign, and pulls out all the stops to apologize to Charlie, and win her heart.
Three men and their stories. And they are gloriously short, sweet, sexy and just what I needed!
They are quite easy reads, not complicated or difficult to follow, and I really loved that fact. Because sometimes (and its becoming more and more clear to me I need them more often!) you just need something to READ, you know? To fall into and just wile away a couple hours, watching 6 people fall back in love and getting their happy ever after.
All three authors are new to me. All three are now on my wish list. I'd love to read more by these authors, other stories, but also of these men, and their cousins, can you find some more?? The Hennessy's are a stubborn bunch, but when they love, they love hard and fall fast.
My Review (Copy Provided) http://triciaciak.blogspot.com/ I really enjoyed this anthology. I haven’t read very many of them and this one was a perfect mix of sweet, sexy and heartwarming. I love me a second chance romance, it’s one of my favorite reads and I got it with these stories. I also love how it all came together and we learned the connection of the characters in the end.
I am a sucker for a get my hands dirty hero and in this book you are not lacking that at all. These are heroes that are sweet as well and just a tad alpha. In my opinion the whole package. I won’t get into the details of every book; each story is short and a page turner. The authors did a really good job of flowing all of the stories and giving us something unique to each story but also something that really meshed.
If you are in the mood for a few short stories that are well written, somewhat steamy, with likable characters then I recommend this one.
This is a great anthology. Each story sweet and spicy, well-written, and the characters stayed with me for a long time afterward. I will be reading more from these authors!! Putting all of their books in my TBR pile!
Natalie Green left her hometown ten years ago determined to forget the hurts of the past, only she was never able to forget Chris Hennessy. Now she’s back to deal with her grandfather’s estate and hopefully put her old demons to rest. Chris isn’t about to be ‘put to rest’ and hopes to convince her they deserve another chance together. Uprooted is a fast-paced, funny, sexy story that will take you on a full rollercoaster of emotions from laughing to crying from one page to the next. Determined to get out from under her family’s thumb Rachel Cambridge turns her back on a thriving legal career to fulfill her dream of being a writer. She’s also hoping to convince sexy mechanic and race car driver Sage Hennessy to give her another chance. She knows she hurt him years ago when she told him they were finished, but the truth is she’s never forgotten the way it felt to be in his arms, and in his bed. Revved is a sexy, heartfelt story that will leave you revving your engine.
Charlie Grant doesn’t let her guard down easily, which is why being stood up by the guy she met online really stings. When the same guy turns up on her doorstep offering his help, let’s just say it doesn’t go well. The fact that Adam Hennessey is the sexiest, sweetest, and funniest guy she’s met in a very long time doesn’t bode very well for her willpower to resist his charms. Nailed is the final leg in this trilogy and it is definitely worthy of the anchor position. It’s funny, sexy, and heartfelt…did I mention sexy?
Dirty Work is the perfect book to toss in your beach bag, or take along on your end of summer vacation. Each story of second chance love is fast-paced, well-written, funny and sexy as hell. The perfect bite-sized story to satisfy any appetite.

REVVED by Harper St. George 2 stars
I liked both Rachel and Sage even though we didn’t have much time with them. They were both mature adults who wanted to make amends. I also really liked that Sage didn’t cave right away when Rachel approached him about getting back together. He was very badly hurt by how Rachel broke up with him and it came across as more genuine that he would take his time with that decision. This one was just so short and the ending rushed up on me. I looked in the table of contents to see where I was at and realized I was in the last chapter. The majority of the story is them deciding if they should get back together. The story just felt liked it wasn’t finished.
Fun, dirty 3.5 star read! Each of these authors managed to make her characters among the most down to earth that I’ve ever read. They all felt like the kind of people I’d love to know: accepting of their flaws, realistic about the choices they’ve made in life, self deprecating in their humor but not undervaluing themselves.
It was fine; nothing that wowed me, but nothing that bothered me either. I liked book 3 the best, and also felt that one would have been good as a full length.
