This book covers the basics and is probably a good start/overview. I find myself wanting more detail on creating meal plans and scheduling 6 eating sessions throughout the day while trying to balance living a life or letting your child live a life. What about setbacks? How do you transition decision-making from parent to the child? There is a lot missing from this book.

Very quick read. I feel like this book only offers a simple overview of what to expect with FBT from a medical, therapeutic, and nutrition standpoint. I wish it would have gone deeper into the “how to” with each of the phases. The tip lists were helpful though. Not my favorite continuing education book.

Quick and easy read-finished in 1 sitting. I appreciate that this was to straight and to the point (many clinical books are dense, redundant, and, frankly, boring). This was easy to understand and implement the skills. Consistent messaging as well. Will absolutely be recommending to the parents of my patients!

Fairly well written but the focus on fbt for anorexia is difficult as it was recommended to me while my child has a different eating disorder. I'd be interested in a broader version for ALL eating disorders.

if Anorexia is smashing your kid you need this book
Simple, straightforward, and hard-hitting
Anorexia is a life and family wrecking monster. This book teaches you how to hit back and hopefully save your kid in the process

I can see this being a helpful resource for parents doing family based treatment. It was short (I read the whole thing in about an hour and a half), clear, concise, and positive.

This is a good, though short, introduction to several critical elements of having a child with an eating disorder.
