It was okay. I didn't realize that it was American, so some of the information is very different or not applicable. I read the 3rd edition from my local library, and it was getting a bit dated (2013, I think). The personal audit of one's expenses is probably the most valuable thing this book has to offer, and there are several worksheets/forms to help organize that information.
The book offers some great tips and ideas I had not thought of. Reading this also upped my motivation to find ways to do so many more things myself rather than spending more money.
This book was excellent on laying out simple guidelines that anyone could follow for budgeting. I didn't need the how-to, but the refresher in getting it done was nice, and reading this book was excellent motivation for actually setting out a realistic budget that reflects my family and our needs. Anyone who needs help getting their finances in order could pick up more than a few pointers here.
This book seems really good and helpful, however, it is pretty involved and I found other sources were simpler to follow and follow through with. As a library frequenter, I think if I had bought this book instead of checked it out, it may have helped me more as they have numerous lists to fill out IN the book itself.
My brother gave this to me because i have been separated for almost 2 yrs and the budgeting I was doing was not bad when I was f-time but now that i am p-time, i had to re-learn the budgeting thing.
Very good beginners guide. If your just starting out or need a refresher because you've gotten off course, I recommend it. It lightly covers many topics but nothing in much detail.
