This fast-paced adventure fantasy trilogy starts with murder and leads teenagers Nathan and Kelly out of their once-familiar world as they struggle to find answers to the tragedy. A mysterious mirror with phantom images, a camera that takes pictures of things they can’t see, and a violin that unlocks unrecognizable voices … each enigma takes the teens further into an alternate universe where nothing is as it seems. Find out what happens when good battles evil in an alternate universe Interfinity is imminent. In this second book in the Echoes from the Edge series, the merging of Earth and its parallel dimensions means one thing to Nathan Shepherd―he must rescue his parents while attempting to save his world and others. But signs foretell the impending collapse of the cosmos. Nathan and his friend Kelly watch the night sky transform into a giant mirror, as stars are replaced by scattered reflections of Earth. The teens are not the only ones on a mission. Mictar, a dimensional stalker who consumes the life energy of his victims, fights to control the universe―a universe Nathan knows belongs to God. Journeying through dimensional realities, Nathan and Kelly must draw on their God-given gifts of wisdom and courage and the help of faithful friends, as they battle Mictar for lives and worlds sliding toward the edge of destruction.

Oh, what to say about this book?
Interesting, thought provoking, imaginative, suspenseful, enjoyable.

It starts out pretty quick with a showdown between our heroes Nathan and Kelly, facing off against the main villain Mictar.
Have to give Bryan Davis big props for starting out with such a bang? I mean, how many book two's open like that?
Not many.

From there, it's almost nonstop from one perilous situation to the next. The heroes are almost never safe, and the impending doom looms closer and closer with ever turn of the page.
There are a few detractors, which I'll get into later.

The characters are likable and feel real. It's easy to relate to Nathan and Kelly as they grow closer and we learn more about them. They are both good role models in their own way. The "romance" deserves mentioning as it was handled in a very unique way to the YA genre; very chaste, innocent, sweet.
Very not like most YA books where they shove love triangles and heated "near sex" down your throat.

Now, for the detractors; the plot is hard to keep up with. For someone who loves shows like Lost, this is a good thing as it keeps you continually guessing and paying close attention, but to the less hardcore sci-fi fans, this can easily keep you from really enjoying this book.

Aside from the confusing plot, the writing itself is often confusing. Bryan Davis has a fantastic imagination, but I sometimes found myself confused and with no clear picture of the environments described, and the action occurring. It wasn't too bad, but could have been better.

Even with the breakneck pace of the plot, the massive amounts of exposition regarding environments slow the book down tremendously, especially in the beginning. And even though the characters are constantly on the move, constantly hopping from one world to the next, constantly chasing clues, they never seem to get any closer to solving anything. They gain pieces to the puzzle, but never seem to put them together in a way that makes sense. It can be a tad frustrating at times. But once the holding pattern finally breaks, you will not be able to put the book down until it's over, and when it is over, you'll be glad you stuck it out, and you'll want to read it again.

The last detractors contain spoilers, so... SPOILER WARNING.....

All in all, this book put my imagination in a choke-hold and refused to let me go. I loved many things in the book and about the book, had many things to complain about and think about. It was far from perfect, but it was my kind of book.
I'd recommend it to anyone who likes YA, Christian, or sci-fi books.

Bryan Davis's Eternity's Edge draws in the reader with the mystery and action. This book illustrates the line between the good and evil, and the good and pure. The author uses the thoughts of the main character to show what is taking place in the novel. This gives it a unique idea of what is going on, because you can only 'see' out of the eyes on that one character and you only know what he knows. The characters are well developed through the differing personality of each character and the decisions that they make and voice. The setting that is shown in the book is realistic and allows you to view each place in your 'mind's eye.' In this book (the second of three) the main character fights the main evil character as he tries to kill another main character while she is injured. After forcing the evil character to flee, the two main characters travel with the power of Quattro to the world of dreams. they then journey into the enemy lair and rescue someone. They then release the supplicants. With the power of the supplicants they manage to escape. Unfortunately, they lose one of the Quattro mirrors in the process. This book relates to the book before and after it in it's series. The connection that this book has to today's society is that people in the book must keep their moral standards even when presented with temptations.

I really liked this one. I absolutely loved the first in the trilogy Beyond the Reflection's Edge and now I'm really excited about the third coming in 2009, Nightmare's Edge. This series has been my introduction to Bryan Davis and I admit he has taken me on quite the adventure. This journey into the fantasy world or alternate Earths has been quite invigorating. So many twists and turns that it is hard to keep up, but so worth it. I highly recommend the series.

This book is still full of the morality and virtuous parts that made the first book so enjoyable as well as the awesome plot. But this novel has some growth of romance that would give even the disinterested person chills. It is marketed as a Teen Fiction, but as a young adult I thoroughly enjoyed it and I definitely believe that other adults would as well, the only thing teen about it to me is that the main characters are teens.

Fast paced and a complete thrill ride, this book brings you into a reality that is complex but amazing. I would not recommend reading this book alone, although you could. I'd say you should go back to the first book to get the full benefit of this continuing story as well. Go out and get your copy right now!

The book Eternity´s Edge is the second book in the series called Echoes from the Edge. It was published in 2008 and was written by Bryan Davis. Eternity's Edge has nonstop action and suspense. The story takes place in three different worlds. It is Nathan Shepherd's duty to save everyone on all three different worlds while everything is complete chaos. Nathan is joined by his friends Kelly and Daryl who both help him along the way and play major parts in the series. Nathan is constantly endangered by his enemy Mictar who is the one behind the destruction of all three worlds. Nathan is musically gifted and he and his mother are the only ones who have the gift to use a mysterious mirror, a camera that takes pictures of things they can't see and a violin to figure out how to save billions of lives. I really enjoyed reading this book because there was always something happening and there was never a boring part. It got hard to follow and understand during some parts because it is such a complicated story but other than that I really liked the book. It had mystery, suspense, and lots of action. It is a good book and series for teenagers to read who like fantasy.

This was a great second book. It was a lot better than the first book. The first book I had a little bit of a hard time understanding some of the dynamics of what Bryan was creating but by the end of the first book I was ok with it. This book was easy to get into and keeps going where the first book leaves off.

By the time I got to this book I had no idea how everything was going to fix itself and I did not know how the characters were going to get it all done in time. this one has more actions and I could hardly put it down.

The characters are awesome and I enjoyed the teamwork they all had throughout this book. They all become close in this. We'll not so much the evil ones. One thing I really liked in this book and the first was that you had a hard time knowing who to trust and not to trust as you went along with the characters.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I am really glad I had all the books in this series...it was hard to put down but the cliff hangers were leaving me wanting more.

I enjoyed Eternity's Edge as much as Beyond the Reflection's Edge. These are some great, original sci-fi stories with strong Christian themes that are completely appropriate for younger readers.

This book is a little more "out there" than the first one. Dimension hopping has become second nature for the characters, and this story takes a pretty major step into the realm of fantasy. That's fine, but I personally found it a bit harder to follow in my standard mode of reading a little bit at a time. I tend to find a few minutes here and there to read rather than long stretches at any given time.

This is a fun story though, just like the first one. I'm looking forward to reading the third book at some point, though I don't have it yet.

The second installment in the Echoes from the Edge series is a lot like the first one. Things got a little more confusing (as I thought they would), but it was still pretty fun to read. I didn't like it as much as the first one - mostly because it was so complicated. It's difficult to keep track of all the "dimension-hopping". Still, I'm interested in finding out what happens next.

Once again, this book had some slightly "mature" stuff in it that I didn't think was completely necessary, though it was meant to convey a good message. There wasn't as much in this book, but just be careful when you read it.

If you love music then this book is for you. It takes music to a whole new level and shows what the power of music is. Nathan is a rich character whom I would love to know in real life. His story is full of mistakes he personally makes like we do. And yet in the end, his story is a triumph. What a beauitful picture of what our life will look like. I recommend this trilogy to every and anyone. Get all three books and then settle down. Find some hot chocolate or coffee or tea, a nice chair, a blanket if it's cold, and hold on to your seats because you're in for the ride of your life!

Well, that was thrilling! Now I want to dive into the third one that's sitting on my shelf at the moment.

It's been several months since I read the first one, but it wasn't long before I remembered everything that I needed to. The horrors of the last book were topped by the ones in this book, and because of that, the sweet parts were made that much sweeter.

Nathan is a very believable character. He's trying to save his parents, and that's his biggest goal. But there're other people that he wants to save too. And when he can't save them, he mourns them, and leaves you mourning too.

This book was a lot easier to get into though the second book is always more exciting, catching up with now familiar characters and getting another step closer to all the answers.

This book was especially interesting because just when you though that you had the three earths figured out Davis throws a new dimension into the mix. A misty world populated by white haired beings. Just when you think you know the rules they change again.

Short review: These are not perfect young adult science fiction/fantasy books, but they are original. Sometime a bit hard to follow but they work out in the end with decent stories. I find some of the motivation a bit stretched, but the author is working in some boundaries that makes it all seem worthwhile. Overall pretty good.

I finally figured out why the artist did the book cover the way they did it. With the Red, Blue, and Yellow swirls, and Kelly's face with only her *cough, cough* one eye showing, with the Interfinity Observatory in the background. I don't like to spoil things for future readers of this magnificent book, but I would encourage those to read on into the series. Maybe YOU can discover the hidden messages of the artists' interpretation of the book cover. :)

This was a great book. There was action and suspense right from the beginning, and the plot was fantastic. All of the characters felt very real and believable, especially the two main characters, Nathan and Kelly. As the second book in the "Echoes from the Edge" trilogy, it definitely continued the story line, and sets up the third book nicely. I highly recommend both this book, and this series.

I couldn't stop reading it...............

I love how these books emphasize the power of music. And how easy it is to bend when something or someone you care for is at stake.

Bryan Davis does a brilliant job of not making the protagonist overly powerful, Nathan is also tempted and, on rare occasion, broken.

Man I love his writing style. I prefer the first book of the series, but this one always gives me more feels than I can handle. Oh, and I am madly in love with Cerulean. He ranks up there with Geno from SMRPG and Aragorn on my crush scale. I love this series and desperately want to read more by him :)

Another brilliant installment by Bryan Davis! Sadder and slightly more morbid than the dragons in our midst series but still very, very good!
