Snatched #2

Snatched - Part 2

Rate this book
When I learnt of my mother’s death, I had no time to mourn, I had to go into damage control. Suddenly, I had a stepsister with a legal claim to the family fortune. I never mix business with emotion but, to save the company, I did something impulsive. I snatched her away. It’s all about the business, though, not from any desire to have her in my home and under my control.

Obviously, being kidnapped is not a good thing. It’s up there with the worst things that can happen but, considering the alternative in my case, it wasn't that awful. That rich jerk couldn't be any worse than those loan sharks after me for the cash I owe them, and he had put me in the lap of luxury. He hadn't even been near me since he dumped me here. Good. I hate that jerk. So, why can’t I stop thinking about him?

About the author

Candy J. Starr

Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. “Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She’s seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She’s seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.

But, of course, everything she writes is fiction.

The story is really getting interesting now. Dom is in a panic over the family fortune after learning he has a stepsister. So what does he do? he decides to kidnap her, just "snatch" her away, it's the only reasonable thing to do right?

The only good thing Veronica can see in her situation is that now at least she is being fed regularly, she now knows their parents have perished but she has no idea why Dom has gone to the extremes that he has. She just wants to clear her debts and if she never saw him again that would be just find by her, or would it.

Dom is just digging himself deeper and deeper, he doesn't know what he wants. I can't wait for the next instalment.

Quirky and engaging, this second part is proof that this story is getting better and better. It might not be as steamy as the first novella, but it compensates with a deepening of the attraction Dom and Veronica feel for each other.

I couldn't believe it when he kidnaps her to control that she doesn't pose a danger to his inheritance. She doesn't cower though, and her attitude part innocence part survival is really fun. I liked to know Dom a little better, he harbours some secrets and a very hot loss of control over his emotions towards his unusual captive.

The way they interact in the mansion is quite entertaining and I'm impatient to see if that cliffhanger resolves into a passionate encounter that's been boiling to happen!

Received this book for an honest review.
When I started reading this book I wasn't sure if I would like it but after a while I got into the book I got caught up into the storyline. The Author is doing a good job fleshing out the characters with smooth story line that makes this an enjoyable read.

I have to be honest it this type of book is not high on my list of reading material but it makes it no less enjoyable. The main character is someone I could not like he is cold, flat and domineering.

The female character is young and easily impressed and kind of shallow. And she finds she have deep desires not tapped into yet.

I received an ARC for my honest review

Dom is concerned about his family fortune being accessible to his new step sister. He decides that he will make a deal with her but instead winds up kidnapping her. Veronica has no idea why he would take her captive but she is being fed and kept safe and for now that is enough. Dom doesn't know what to do with Veronica now that she is at his home but decides it is best if he stays away from her. His mind is constantly thinking of her and he finds himself buying her little things. I can't wait for what is next!

Second installment in this series. Dom doesn't want to lose the family fortune to his new step sister. Veronica has no idea what is going on. Why would he kidnap her? Can he stay away from her? I enjoyed reading of their thoughts of trying to figure out how to handle being thrown onto this situation. Ready for the next book to see what is next.

I received an ARC for a honest review.

Merged review:

I think this is a great series! I love the connection between Dom and Veronica. Dom is so set in his ways. Can the woman he wants to get out of is life win his heart instead?

What would you do.

As the second book in the sequel this just keeps getting good. Not knowing what is going to happen next is what keeps you on the edge of your reader. Comes down to what would you do to save something that means so much to you. If your world centered around a business that you and your father enjoyed, what would you do to save it. Hanging tight for the next part.

The connection to the characters grows in Part 2 of this story.

Dom has kidnapped Veronica while he figures out what to do with the estate and her potential claim to it. These two definitely have some chemistry and Part 2 explores that more.

I can't wait to see where this story goes with Part 3.

Two words: Stockholm syndrome
At least the heroine acknowledges it.
Could've been a good story anyway, but why it wasn't just a whole book instead of parts, I don't know.
Also, the ending sucked, needed more close on Gramps.
Something else bothered me about it, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
