I'm Totally Speechless!!!

Book #4 Wings Of Lomay... What can I say?... Oh yeah I know what I can start with...

WHY DEVRI, WHY???

Sorry, I apologise for shouting there. But Oh. My... I cried! So much!! I wouldn't have minded so much but when I started that particular part I was sat in the middle of a busy coffee shop and I had to stop reading!! But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

There is so much I want to write, but as I will NOT publish spoilers for anyone who hasn't yet read this! So my review...

Kiora, Emane, Alcander, Drustan, and Arturo have all grown and been through so much throughout this series. Their characters have gone from strength to strength. They have faced evils that would have made lesser people turn and run screaming for the hills!

The levels of magic in this book reach new heights, as the forces of good really do unite to try and rid the world of evil once and for all, but can it be done? If it is done what will the cost of it be to Kiora? those that she loves? and the rebels?

This review is so unfair, I want to write so much more but I am so scared of publishing spoilers, and if I did that I couldn't forgive myself.

Wings Of Lomay made me laugh, yell, smile and cry! As I've already mentioned the part that caused the most tears I came across sat in my local coffee shop I had to stop reading until I was back at home behind closed doors!! After feeling like that at the start of that part, you would have though that I would have been prepared by the time I got to continue, right? Wrong! When I continued to read at home I openly wept! I felt EVERY bit of hurt that was written on those pages. Which brings me back to the start of my review again... WHY DEVRI, WHY?

Wings Of Lomay is well thought out, superbly written and had me from page 1. I was transported into Kiora, Emane and Alcander's world once more. I felt like I was there through all of their ups and downs, I've been there on all of their journey's and on the beach during THAT scene, the scene that completely destroyed my heart!

Wings Of Lomay is every bit the epic finale that I thought it would be, and it was a fitting end to an amazing series.

Solus Series by Devri Walls Overview:
I'm so sad to see that Kiora, Emane, Alcander, Drustan, Arturo and all the others have come to the end of their adventures. I will miss them all, some more than others.

It's not very often I review an entire series from start to finish. But this is one series I'm so glad to have done that with. I was completely hooked from page 1 of book #1.

I don't know how many of you reading this review haven't read this series but seriously if you like fantasy, magic, adventure, love and DRAGONS then I can't put into words how much I recommend this series. I truly is amazing!

Thank you to Danielle for inviting me to take part in this tour and giving me the perfect opportunity to get this series in my life.

I can't thank Devri Walls enough for allowing me to have a n ARC of Wings Of
Lomay! Thank you Devri, you Rock!!

Did I enjoy this book: There were too many battle scenes and not enough character development scenes. Add to that the fact that it really irks me when authors kill off the third member of a love triangle just to make things end nicely (don’t worry, I wont’ spoil it for you), and you’ll see that although I enjoyed the first three books, this one gets significantly fewer stars.

Would I recommend it: If you’re itching to know how Kiora’s story ends, go for it. But if you tend to skim through battle scenes like I do, you’d be further along to read a summary and move on.

Wow! Okay I have to give props to Walls for writing characters that had me so invested that I was blubbering like a crazy person. I will say this though, that I predicted the end (you who have read know what I mean...) around book 2 simply because I felt some foreshadowing happening. That in no way stopped me from crying so much that even when I got myself under control would burst into tears on the next paragraph. This book truely took chunks of my heart out almost as much as the ending of Harry Potter.

This was such a fantastic book/series series I really hope it gets made into a TV series because the sheer descriptive beauty of the characters and land would be the most delicious eye candy ever!

As I said in my first review I had a hard time getting into the book, but I'm so glad I kept at it because this was such an amazing read!

Loved, loved, loved it!

The ending could've been better

I can't say that I'm happy with the way this series ended. Emane deserved so much more than he got. He gave absolutely everything he had to give, and I just wish he'd gotten even a smidgen of the happiness he so richly deserved. To be quite honest Koria didn't deserve to have someone like him be in love with her. And that's my opinion.

I will say this. Devri Walls wrote a series that made me feel a lot of things. I mean seriously by the end of this series I hated Koria, and at first I thought that meant I didn't like the series, but then I realized that for me to have such intense feelings about a character in a series of novels must mean the author managed to get my to emotionally invest in the story and that means the books were awesome.

Great ending to what was one of my favorite series!! Was sad to see it seems you cannot get this series anywhere anymore though, I was going to re read the whole series until I couldn’t find book 2 on my kindle for some reason. Figured no big deal and went to Amazon to purchase but cannot get the series anymore 😭 thankfully I had the last book of the series on my kindle still so went ahead and finished it and ugh! So much heart break and such a roller coaster but so happy with the ending! Hope to see this author come out with more novels in the future. Truly enjoy her work 🤍

Kiora is in the fight of her life, she will have to use all the power that she possesses in order to fight the darkness that threatens to swallow Meros. She will have to learn that this is war and that in war bad things happen and people die. Sacrifices will be made, lives will be lost, as all hope of freedom is put on the shoulders of the Solus.

In Wings of Lomay we follow Kiora, Emane and Alcander as they make preparations for their final stand. As the Solus leadership sort of falls on Kiora's shoulders as everyone looks to her for guidance. This is not a role that Kiora is particularly comfortable playing, but she has grown tremendously since first learning of her destiny. She was once afraid of her own powers, her own strength, but now she is a force to be reckoned with. She is strong, confidant and a natural leader. She falls into her role as the Solus with trepidation, but flourishes under the guidance of her allies.

Every character in this series has grown tremendously since Wings of Arian. Each character has come into their own in this series, accepting the role they play in the quest to rid Meros of it's darkness. This is especially true of Prince Emane. When Prince Emane first graces the pages of the series he is cocky, arrogant, timid, fearful, and not ready for his role in the future. But as time passes Emane grows, matures, and by the end of Wings of Lomay Prince Emane is selfless, fierce, cocky, loyal, thoughtful, and deep. Of all the characters in this series, Emane is by far my favorite. I think Emane the witow, was stronger than any of the characters with magic, to me he is the true hero of this story. He is the underdog. The person that is always there to help the hero through their quest. He is the strength and heart of this tale. Oh sure, the story is about Kiora, but the hero of Lord of the Rings was supposed to be Frodo when we all know that Sam was the real hero. Well Emane is Sam, Kiora is Frodo. Without Emane Kiora would have failed a long time ago. It is because of his strength that she was able to make a final stand in Wings of Lomay. And in a world full of magic, he stood tall, proud and fearless.

I guess there is no secret where my loyalties lie! For me it has always been about Emane. Not Alcander, the powerful, beautiful Tavean. Oh I like him too, he's just not Emane.

I have mad love for this series, I have been in love with it since the beginning and it saddened, terrified and excited me to finally get my hands on Wings of Lomay. I have known where this story was going since book 2, Wings of Tavea. I saw the writing on the wall, I saw the clues that Devri Walls left on the pages, the crumbs that I knew would eventually mean the end of my heart. This entire series we have been building up to this huge battle, where the Solus was going to either succeed or fail. And in Wings of Lomay we finally get it. We finally get to see what all this struggle was about. What it was all for. We finally get closure.

Wings of Lomay was a wonderful ending to an incredible journey. All the story lines were tied in neat little bows. But it was gut wrenching and it brought me to my knees in pain and anguish. Devri Walls completely shattered my heart and put a hole in my soul with her perfect telling of Wings of Lomay. Nothing prepared me for what I found in the pages. Nothing. But I take my hat off to Devri Walls and applaud her ability to turn my sorrow and pain into something beautiful, something worth it, she made it shine brighter than the stars.

Wings of Lomay is what a series ending should be like, powerful, raw, emotional, and satisfying. This was my favorite book of the series, it will leave you breathless, somber, blissful and a total hot mess. Even now, looking back over the story I cry. Devri Walls and Wings of Lomay broke me and you totally need to read it!

I have to say that this book has touched me in a way no other has before, the whole series had. I re-read the previous books to refresh everything and to be able to read them back to back. I got so pulled into this fantasy world. This series could so easily become a series of movies at the same impact that the Lord of the Rings movies did. I like this one even better to tell the truth. I felt deeply for these characters and for each one that was lost. I loved how deeply Kiora felt for everyone, she has such a deep feeling and caring for all life, even when she had to take the enemies life. She is truly a remarkable woman. I felt what she felt, and could see this all play out in my head like it was a movie. I absolutely love Alcander and found him perfect for Kiora, but I also loved Emane as well. He really wiggled his way into my heart as well.

I do not want to say too much on what happens as this book is explosive and just about anything I can say would be a spoiler. I do not want to spoil the great journey that is this series.

I will warn you; towards the end you will need tissues. I won’t say why, but just trust me, you will need them. I hardly ever get this intensely immersed into a story to feel as deep as I did. I can say I have a book hangover now; I do not want to pick up another book right now.

This series was written so well too, brilliantly even. There are twists and turns you won’t see coming at all. I can’t say enough how much I loved the Solus series. If you have not read this series yet, and you like any type of fantasy, then please give this a try. Trust me, it’s that good!

Now for the cover, this cover is the best of them all, and this is a scene right out of the book. Its done brilliantly too. If I never heard of this series at all, and see this cover, I would have been checking it out on the cover alone.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It’s one of my favorite series of all time now.

Full series review:

Going in I knew that this were fantastical. It's not my favorite genre but I've been trying to read a bit more and these just beg to be read!

Book one started a bit slow for me. I think Devi Walls did a marvelous job of creating this environment that we have to see while reading but something about it was slow. I did enjoy her lovely imagination though! And the amount of different beings in this is amazing! I mean, as I said above, I'm not totally into fantasy, but dragons! Even I know that dragons are cool!

I also really enjoyed the push/pull between Kiora and Emane. I wasn't sure if I would like him but I did like their relationship. They are good for each other whether they know it or not. And seriously... I want to ride on a talking pegasus!!

As for book two, Kiora lost some of her appeal. She seemed a little lost and a love triangle. Oy! I hate love triangles! What I did love was the EVIL! I mean pure evil characters. Evil characters seem to be hard to create and more importantly, maintain, but I feel like Dralezer was amazing. I also enjoyed the plot line a bit more than the first. Maybe it was the pacing of everything and how things happen. It didn't take me as long to read and I felt the reading flow much easier than the first!

For The Wings of Nestor, book three, I feel like I'm getting into this fantasy thing! There were some ups and downs with the first two, just like any genre, but this one I think is my fav.

I really like Alcandor. There is just something about him, and notice he is one that yummy cover too! I do hate dividing my attention between men and I hate, hate, hate love triangles but there is just something about Alcandor that I really like. And it seemed like Emane and Alcandor are willing to make sure Kiora is safe and if that means being on the same side while doing that, then fine. It seemed like a real relationship between two guys fighting over the same girl. I felt like this was the meat and potatoes of the series and it felt great to sink my teeth into it.

I was totally ready for book four and truly enjoyed the changes that the main characters have been through. They are fighting evil for goodness sakes there has to be changes and Devri Walls did a fabulous job of creating changes in them that fit.

Unlike book one that took a while to get through, I feel like I sped read through this one. Still there are some parts that didn't fit because again, fantasy and all, but I really think that this was fabulous even being a genre that I normally do not reach for.

I feel like this ending wonderfully though. It felt like a huge series has come to an end and although I will actually miss (A FANTASY!!) the characters I think Devri Walls did a superb job of bringing them all to life in this very magical world.

This was one of those series that got better with each book. I wasn't a huge fan of book 1 but, I still liked the story enough to continue. I am glad I did. I enjoyed book 4 and was satisfied with the way the series ended overall. There were lot of intense moments here cuz of the battle we knew was coming.

Kiora is pushed to her limits here trying to figure out a way to beat Jasmine without too many causalities of war. She's trying her best to figure out ways to lessen the collateral damage. Jasmine, on the other hand, is hell-bent on destroying everything and anything she can just cuz she wants to. The clock is ticking for Kiora, enemy forces are at their doorsteps trying to figure out a way to get in. Can Kiora find a way to find a way to make the odds go up in their way. She does and I thought it was pretty smart. There are some other unexpected turn of events that help them with the battle even more so and even out the battle zone for them. Jasmine, being the daughter of the creator, is stronger than Kiora. She knows it. However, Kiora also is good with thinking outside of the bun ;) and with some outside help she's able to wield some crazy powers that do cost her the outside appearance. Go read it....you'll understand!!

Alcander and Emane are there for her at every step of the way. I loved how their relationship grew throughout the series and they went from hating, to tolerating, to respecting, to almost loving each other like brothers. It was crazy, odd and yet very nice to see. I LOVED the banter between Alcander, Emane and Drustan. It left me chuckling every time. The camaraderie between these characters was good.

There was a very emotional moment in the book almost towards the end and honestly, I wish it had not been like that. I do understand why but, I wonder if there could have been another way. I knew it was coming cuz of what happened in Book 3 - wings of Nestor - but, it still did not make it ok. I won't say much cuz of spoilers. But, just be warned :)

There's an epilogue at the end and it is set to be several years after the war. I'm satisfied with the romance aspect the series too. The choice she made in the last book. I did ship them overall as I felt it was a better match for Kiora in every way. I am glad I read the series despite the shaky start.

I am so glad that I got the chance to read this series because they are really great fantasy novels. Complex, imaginative and filled with all the right emotions. It is impossible to read them without feeling connected to the story and caring about the characters. I am sad to say goodbye as each book was a pleasure to read.

Wings of Lomay is a solid conclusion to the Solus series and contains everything I could have possibly wished for and plenty more besides. It tied together so many loose ends, was filled with may twists and turns, and slowly pulled me into a captivating world.

Though the characterization isn’t the best, the characters have grown tremendously over the course of the four books. Even the minor characters develop and change and I enjoyed seeing some old friends who make reappearances. The dialogue though, is definitely awesome. The humourous exchanges between Drustan, Alcander and Emane were fun to read and brought a smile to my face. Kiora’s relationship with Alcander has grown stronger as well and I loved seeing the two of them together.

The battle scenes are tense and exciting. Choatic is definitely the adjective I would use since many things happen at once and we are treated to multiple POVs. This also means there is never a dull moment making the book hard to put down. Kiora’s magic has improved once again, making bigger and more complicated plans possible.

Kiora continues to struggle with learning to overcome her regrets and let go of the feelings of guilt that eat away at her confidence. Loss has a big presence in the book due to the massive numbers of lives lost, and affects all of the character’s in different ways. Destiny continues to play a big role, coming true in the most surprising of ways.

The ending was bittersweet but I am very happy with how the series concluded.

The transitions from from the first book to the last are vast. The Solus series began  as a "feel-good" paranormal romance and ended as an all out dystopian fantasy. I compared Wings of Arian to seeing "The Never Ending Story " for the first time. I would have to compare Wings of Lomay to "The Lord of the Rings". The plot is one of depth and strategy.  The story-line is bittersweet and heavily laced with an intoxicating emotional allure. In the end they finally stand-off with the Shadow,  the relentless face of unadulterated evil.

Life-altering circumstances may have forced Kiora into choosing between Emane and Alcander,  but her heart will forever beat strongly for both. No matter the choice made, devastation would loom either way. I am, however,  happy for Drustran-- shifter and prominent character throughout all of the books-- as he finds love. I would very much be interested in reading a series based on this character.

 As I've finally read Book four, I can now say I understand Lomay's elusive demeanor throughout the series.  He is truly a noble and humbling character. I'd like to note that the magical characters I mentioned in prior reviews barely scratch the surface. There is some thing in this series for all paranormal lovers.
 How a magical war involving an impressive dynamic of magical characters is written can be detrimental to the series, especially when it is the end of the story.  The strategic and visual effects inspire a range of emotions leaving one to feel drained. Each scene is written with vivid detail. The clarity of the battle scenes, the techniques...all of it left me in awe.

I imagine there to no limitations to Devri Walls imagination and for that I am truly envious and forever grateful that she shares it with us. I can't see any room for there to be complaints of her skills as a writer.

Another 5 stars for a very deserving series.

What an outstanding ending to a really great series. It's not too often that a series will earn an overall 5 star rating, but this one really blew it out of the park. The big battle between Jasmine and Kiora is coming to a head and it's going to be a nasty one. It's hard to even describe the build up because there was so much going on (in a great way).

So far Kiora has managed to stay just ahead of Jasmine, but when Kiora realizes what Jasmine is really after she's not sure how to handle it at first. A plan slowly comes together, but it will come at the cost of many lives - some that Kiora holds very dear and I hated to see lost. Kiora's plans are brilliant, but come very close to falling apart several times.

Kiora's goal of uniting the various people and races is coming along nicely, too. But old hatred and prejudice die hard and it is an uphill battle to get people to work together the way she needs them to for things to work. I know I already said it, but this ending was beyond amazing. I think this will be a re-read for me because I already want to go back and visit all my characters.

So many emotions going through my head right now so I'm going to try be be quick with this review!!
Wow what and amazing end to an amazing series even though there were a lot of tears shed especially in the last two chapters- I just loved every aspect of this incredible journey that Devri Walls has brilliantly created- the laugh- out-loud-moments, the tears-spilling-on-page-moments and the amazing cast of characters and the thrilling fast-paced action moments that had me constantly turning the page! While this is definitely a bittersweet moment parting with a series I came to love too much this is definitely a journey that I would love to go back and experience it all over again!! I just loved it so much!! I will miss the amazing set of characters so much - Kiora, Alcander, Emane, Drustan- they will always have a special place in my heart!! Thank you so much Devri Walls for creating such an amazing magical world and it's beautiful set of characters! I hope that since I live in the same state as you and only a couple miles away I hope that one day I will get to meet you my friend has told me many great things about you!! Anyways thank you again for an amazing journey!! This was amazing!! Love you Alcander and I am so happy for you and Kiora!! Goodbye amazing world !!

My heart is shattering and the pieces are going up into the wind. Just like (beep). *SOBS* HOW COULD THE AUTHOR DO THIS TO ME AND MY SANITY. I AM GOING TO GIVE HER A PIECE OF MY MIND. Right after I finished typing this. So this book was thrilling and yada yada, same as the other's in the Solus Series. I just cant get over the ending. It brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it. Hold on, I need a minute *composes self*. So honestly, I think it could have done without prolonged fighting. Like yes, I got it. The rebels are fighting the shadows forces, thats all there is to it. I dont need every, single, little technical detail about how a sword impaled a winged man. Anyway, I loved the romance aspect, as I always do. Alcander, is just, mmhm, I cant describe him. And now I cant describe Emane. *tears pour down my face*. Moving on, I loved the series and it was so easy to breeze through all four books buying reading it digitally. If you guys have any more questions, feel free to comment.

I need this book. I neeeeeed this book.

~~~
Well, I loved it. I mean when do I not love Devri's writing? And, this one is no exception. It had less romance than the last one and the perfect amount of action. I love how she is able to draw out the fight scenes and the emotions are just so freaking relatable. I love it. I love everything. It's not as good as the last book (that one was my favorite in the series) but this one was just...
Heartbreaking
Perfect
Beautiful
Girl- Power filled
And Alcander...le sigh!
Anything else I should add? Oh yeah, grab the box of tissues. I'll miss all of these characters. I can't believe this is over! It does have the completed feel that the end of a series should have though.
Happy reading
Great! I loved this while series. And along with the series... The author is the amazing as a person too!! I wrote her letting her know I was unable to find them and would love to finish the series. I had bought the first on Amazon for Kindle back in 2017 and have been working on reading old books that I got and didn't read.
But now that I finished the first I couldn't find the other 3 anywhere. She was so sweet and sent them to me so I could finish the series. Asked if I enjoyed them, to get her newer series instead of asking for payment. I did! I've started it and it's been good so far too!
Definitely recommend!
I thought this book was a wonderful conclusion to a truly great series. I couldn't put this book down, and just like the other books, it is filled with heart-pounding action. I cried a lot during this book *not going to spoil anything* and I laughed even more. Drustan's, Emane's, and Alcander's attitude and relationship was just the best. The sarcasm and humor in this book was real, I couldn't stop laughing. Despite the heart-breaking moments, I truly loved this book, and am sad to see the series end.
A definite 5 star series for me, all around!
Yes guys, we have come to the end of this magical series and I mean it literarily. Even though I expected what happened towards the end and I expected the death, I was still greatly heartbroken so that’s why I could not bring myself to write this review even though I had finished the book almost 3 days now.
Awesome ending!
A great ending to the series. I enjoyed all the battles and the near death experiences. I also enjoyed the growing love between kiora and alcander. Only thing is that the ending came right towards the end of the book, which is what I expected but I was still yearning for more. I guess that was the point, either way this was the best book out of all of them.
