I've been a fan of this author since I first had her Dragon Lords books recommended to me. They are fun , sexy and imaginative and yet this spin off series ( although shorter) seems to be really taking off now. No it isn't futuristic but I think that's the beauty of it as the author has gone back in time to when the dragon shifters first returned to Earth seeking females. So this story takes place here and now in a contemporary setting rather than on the almost medieval planet Quirilixen and its enabled the author to really bring something different to her dragon shifters . A chance to travel through a portal and arrive who knows where but with females increasingly becoming rare for Seanan there is no choice.
What makes this story so different is the fact that the heroine Jules is frankly a bit of a vigilante . Alone and determined to try to stop those who prey on the weak she just seems to fly by the seat of her pants! Skating a bit to close to the seedy underworld at times and trust me that lands her in all sorts of hot water . A fluke sees her getting attacked but when off duty cops and a guy that looks like a dinosaur show up what's a girl to think? Oh yes stress and hallucinating must surely go hand in hand!
For Seanan or Sean as he's now called that chance meeting changed everything. Just the sound of her voice and his dragon knew it had found its Mate yet Jules disappeared leaving Sean desperately trying to understand this new strange world he finds himself on. So imagine his shock and surprise when a couple of years later he encounters Jules again and you've guessed it she is still in trouble but this time there's no way Sean will not protect her. Slight problem though as Jules doesn't quite see things that way and no matter how hot he makes her there's no way Jules will let Seanan get dragged into her mess .
This is part romance and yet part suspense too which was very unexpected and yet works so well. Sean might have been out of his depth initially but the author played a blinder by letting him get taken under the wing of an Irish Catholic family of cops! I could picture it so easily, the teasing and the love of this close knit family. Then there's the chemistry the couple share which frankly resembled a blow torch! I did expect it from Seanan with his almost animalistic side but the first physical interaction between them had my jaw dropping and no doubt flies aiming at my mouth! Just not what I expected, no not at all. Without revealing the story too much all I can say is this reads more like a modern crime drama at times but of course with Ms Pillow at the helm you know there's a happy ending

Hunted by the Dragon is the fourth book in the adult paranormal (sci fi?) series, Captured by a Dragon-Shifter by Michelle M. Pillow. I have only read one book by Michelle in the past- Love Potions, and it was a very different kind of story. So while I didn't love Hunted by the Dragon as much as I loved Love Potions (which had hot scottish warlocks...umm hello?!) I did really enjoy it. It is about a race of dragon shifters that are from another planet. They have to come to earth to find their mates in human women, because their race doesn't have very many women. I came into this series a little late, and while I had no problem following the storyline, I do think I would have benefited from reading the first three books in the series. I think it would have given me some more context into the history of the dragon shifters and their world. Hunted by the Dragon takes place primarily on earth, so I still don't know a ton about their culture, and ways, etc.

I really, really loved Sean or Seanan. I thought he was considerate and, patient, and very determined. In the end I liked him so much more than I liked Jules. She was so frustrating! Always trying to run away, even though Sean had done nothing but help her at every turn. It grew to be very tiresome for me, so I can only imagine how frustrated Sean must have been. But he is a bounty hunter, so it wasn't anything new to him.

Hunted by the Dragon is quick read that I am sure fans of the series will really enjoy. If you are new to the series, I would probably recommend starting with book one to get a feel for the world. I would imagine that the first book had a lot more development and background on the dragon shifters as a race. And then if you enjoy the book, you can jump around and pick up book 4 next. What I liked most about this book was the unique premise. I have never read a shifters series were the shifters were from another planet. It added an interesting twist to the story. Though Sean did not like to be called an Alien, it is sometimes hard not to draw that comparison. I also found it interesting that they do not shift into a full dragon, so they cannot fly. They are more like a human/dragon hybrid when they shift. Still fierce, for sure, but I found this to be delightfully different.

Bottom line: Hunted by the Dragon is a very solid read, and is just as well written as the prior book by Michelle M. Pillow that I have read. I liked the premise, setting and characters of Love Potions more so that is still my favorite series of hers, but if I get the chance to read more of the Captured by a Dragon Shifter series, and can learn more about the race as a whole, I think I will enjoy this one more. If you are new to this series, and the unique premise intrigues you, grab a copy of book one and check it out. It is pretty cool.

This book is part of the bigger Qurilixen World series, which I have read. Hunted by the Dragon is the 4th book in this extension of that big series, and is set on Earth. This is the first book in this series that I have read, and it reads and feels very different from the author’s original books. Not that that is a bad thing, just different. Seannan was sent through a portal to Earth to look for females for his fellow dragon and cat shifters to mate. And things go sideways from there. He meets Jules, who is his mate, but she’s in trouble and running for her life. Time passes, and Seannan has to learn how to be an “Earth” man, and it’s not easy for him. If you’ve read the original series, all of this will make sense. If you haven’t, you can read this as a standalone, Michelle gives enough information so you’ll understand what is happening. The story takes its time in developing, but is well written, and the characters are interesting. I will read the other books in the Captured by a Dragon series.

Another exciting adventure in the 'Captured by a Dragon-Shifter' series and I feel like the books are awesome. The are in a contemporary setting instead of a future time, like the original dragon and Var lords books are. Seanan goes through a portal to Earth to try to find a mate because the number of females on his planet are extremely low. He lands directly in a gun-fight and tries to save Jules, who he then learns is his mate. This story was exciting and adventurous and I really liked the characters. This side series to originial series has me hooked just like the original series did.

This review is from: Hunted by the Dragon (Captured by a Dragon-Shifter Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
This is the fourth book in Michelle Pillow's Captured By A Dragon-Shifter Series. I am a big fan of the entire dragon Lord series and am enjoying these prequels about the days before Galaxy Brides starting providing Brides for the Quirlixen shifters. These stories are fun and take place closer to our present time as the main series occurs well into the future.

This is Seanan's story. He (Sean) is one of the first shifters to go through the ancient portal to earth that was used for the shifters to escape from persecution on our planet. The plan was for Sean to quickly go through the portal and bring back a bride. His brother Galen was going to anxiously be waiting his return hoping that this would be the start of saving his people by bringing females to be ages for the Draig. Apparently the several Suns of his planet emitted radiation that made carrying a female child very rare.
When Seanan arrives thru the portal he is immediately drawn into a drama taking place. A woman is screaming and Seanan comes to her rescue at the same time three off duty policemen arrive. Jumping in front of one of the men to save him from being shot Sean is heralded as a hero and adopted into the Boston police family. Unable to get back to his planet or find the portal Sean's adopted family keep his "shifter" anilities a secret and help him assimilate to this new world. The woman Jules he has saved has made a huge impression on him and he can't get her out of his mind.

Two years pass by and Jules has placed herself in major danger, possessing hard evidence against a violent crime family (mainly the sister and remaining brother). On the run Jules runs into Sean again when she tries to steal his car in an attempt to avoid capture. Jules has not been able to forget Sean either and the Sparks rekindle when they are reunited. Sean vows to protect Jules and this suspenseful crime drama escalates as does the feelings of love the two have for each other.

There is lots of excitement, drama, thrills, some humor and a bit of smexy as well. This book does play out more as a crime drama than a paranormal shifter story but it is still a fun read. I do enjoy more the stories in this series that take place on Quirlixen. I hope that the series does eventually find these characters getting back to their lost planet and that the portal does become a successful means of finding their true mates.

Some of my favourite dragon shifters are back on Earth!! We have come back to when the inhabitants of Quirilixen used a portal to visit Earth and try to find mates. Seanan has his chance and when he arrives he realises things have advanced way beyond what his ancestors could have imagined!

When he manages to stumble into an assault on Jules, he saves the day and is later helped by a family of police officers. When they find him he is in his shifted state so they know he's not exactly a neighbourhood guy! When he can't find the portal home, his new family adopt him and help him adjust to 21st century Earth life.

Fast forward a few years and Sean (as he is now known) is a brilliant bounty hunter. When he again meets up with Jules, he finds she is neck deep in trouble. She has become a bit of a vigilante and she'' do whatever she needs to do to bring down the local crime boss.

Try as she might there is no shaking Sean this time, not when he realises that she is his mate. He's just trying to figure out when the best time to tell her that the dino-guy that saved her the first time they met is actually him!

Sean's character is fabulous as the fish out of water alien, with his use of idiom always just that wee bit out of sync! Jules is a spitfire and not your typical damsel in distress. The cops who adopt Sean are amazing and I really hope they get finagled into another book (maybe their own series please!!!)
Awesome mix of crime, scifi and romance. Can't wait to see what happens next!

4.5 stars, I loved Michelle Pillow's latest novella in the Draig world. Seanan is one of the ancient dragon shifters to cross a portal into Earth to find an Earth female. The second he landed on Earth, he heard a woman scream and instantly attempted to save her. He did save Jules, but he was injured in the process. He knew from the second he looked at Jules that she was his mate. They are separated while he heals and he becomes part of a family who helps him learn about Earth, get a job and find a place to live. He now goes by Sean and has never forgotten Jules and longs to see her again.
Jules has been getting into trouble for the last couple of years and is on the run again. She ends up stealing Sean's car to continue to run. When he catches up to her, the chemistry between these two exploded. There are some very passionate, hot scenes between Jules and Sean. He wants nothing more than to be her mate and take care of her, Jules isn't ready for that, she needs to continue to run to take care of unfinished business.
This is a novella and I loved it because I love the Draig world and its inhabitants (even when they are on Earth), the short length seems to leave out some details. I don't think Sean and Jules actually know each other very well before they got together, I feel like a little is missing from that. But I highly recommend this novella, passionate love scenes and a ton of action between Jules and Sean and the bad guys.

Hunted by the Dragon is the fourth book in the Captured by a Dragon series by Michelle M. Pillow.

I am a huge fan of the Dragon series and I am enjoying the prequel to the world before Galaxy Brides were around.

Seanan aka Sean is one of the first dragon shifter to go through the portal connected to Earth. The plan for the chosen ones was to go through the portal and bring back a bride. It has been a long time since the portal was used so they did not know what to expect from Earth.

But when the portal opened, Sean was immediately drawn to the woman being attacked and his dragon shifting abilities was witnessed by off duty policemen that arrived due to the attack.

Sean was injured which caused him to be left behind because the portal closed. The woman that he rescued seemed to be what he wants.

Jules thought that the feelings she harbored for Sean was just because he saved her and was just confused so she did not hesitate to run away from him.

This was so different compared to the Dragon Series. This was drama, thrills, crime, and a heroine that is sort of a vigilante. She is not your typical girl.

I absolutely loved this book! It was refreshing to read a dragon shifter in Earth, trying to assimilate the culture. There was a lot of running away and getting caught. A lot of heroic acts and sacrifices. You are phenomenal, Michelle! I cannot wait for more!

I love all of the “Pillow Worlds” and now the Dragon Shifters from other books and another planet have come back to earth in search of a mate. At least Sean(an) has. His drop in has lasted several years and he is adapting. But his reason for the trip remains, and the female, Jules, is not making his life easy.

This one has a great adopted family, some really bad people who want to do bad things, a strong female who thinks she needs to right all wrongs. What's he gonna do with her—well we all know what he'd like to do with her. And she thinks he's hot too, so why is she so stubborn? You'll need to read this good one to find out. I loved the story and am hoping there is a follow up with a certain family member, but you need to see if you can guess who I mean as well, wouldn't want to spoil it for you.

Thank you Michelle Pillow for another visit with a sexy dragon man and his woman. I was provided and ARC for an honest review. This is a strong recommend from me.

I absolutely love this series!!!
Seanan is sent from Quirlixen to Earth to find a mate because women are very rare on his planet. When Seanan goes through the portal a gun fight was going on and he tried to help the screaming woman.
The first time Jules met Sean she thought the he was a lizard man but people convinced her it wasn't real...that she was well from the gun fight.
They have an unfortunate meeting two years later when she tries to steal his car.....and succeeds!
Jules saw and typed something she shouldn't have and now the Velazquez Crime Family. Only Sean and his new family can protect her but she still runs.....

My review is written after both reading and listening to the audion version of this book.

If you are a fan of Dragon Shifters then you will love this series, I've been in love with it since I read Determined Prince the first book in this series when it was first released, indeed I read this book back in 2017 although this is my first time listening to any of the books in the series.

This one is definitely one of my favourites probably because I really love Seanan aka Sean, I like too that the story takes place in the present here on earth where he has to deal with a modern independent woman.

Seanan arrived on Earth two years ago on the orders of the King and Queen of the Draig, his mission was to ascertain if it was a safe place for them to find brides. The visit was intended to be short, a quick look, then straight back through the portal. But when he hears a woman scream his plans abruptly change as he rushes to her rescue only to find himself shot and unable to return home!

After Seanan (Sean) saved her life Jules became somewhat obsessed with stopping all corruption in Boston to the extent that she thinks nothing of risking her life. One of the major crime families is now after her and after running for three days, going without sleep, in an attempt to get clear, she attempts to steal a car not realising that it's Sean's car and he's still in it! Now that he has found her he's determined to never let her go! But that doesn't mean it's going to be easy convincing her to stay with him.

What happens next forms the basis of their story, how they adjust to each other, admit their feelings and deal with the fact that he's a dragon shifter from another world, all whilst trying to stay one step ahead of the people after Jules. No more spoilers from me just download this one and enjoy!

The narration by Sarah Pavelec is so well done, she brought the book to life beautifully, and with such feeling.

You can’t run from fate!

Seanan came through the portal from Qurilixian two years ago and got shot trying to rescue his mate Jules. He was adopted by the Flaherty family, a family of cops, because he also saved their son Brian. They saw him in dragon form, but have kept his secret. They changed his name to Sean Flaherty, gave him new ID and taught him how to blend in with the Humans. Sean is stuck on earth because the portal he came through closed up as soon as he went through it. Jules came to see him when he was recovering and was drawn to him, but the senior Flaherty, a cop, convinced her it was survivor’s guilt. So she disappeared and tried to start a new life. Sean has been looking for her the whole time but could never find her.

Jules has struggle to survive but finally thought she had found a stable job as a waitress in a club. That is until she realized she was working for a mafia family. She is determined to get evidence on them to put them away. She records them murdering two prostitutes. She hides the recording and runs. Somehow they found out about the tape and are hot on her trail. She steals a car totally shocked when it is Seans. She still runs, because she doesn’t want him to get involved. Of course he follows her, but every time he catches up to her, she manages to escape again. Will she ever trust him enough to let him help her before the mafia kills her?

Good book from start to finish. Lots of action !

Seanan of the Draigis is a dragon-shifter. His trip to Earth was supposed to be quick, but it all changed with a woman's cry of distress. He not only saved her that night but he also saved a cop, with a big family determined to help him fit on Earth. He's been on Earth for two years now and taken the name Sean Flaherty working as a bounty hunter.

Jules Dalton can't seem to keep out of trouble. Being in the wrong place, and hearing the wrong thing has put her life in danger more than once. The one thing she's good at is running, the bad thing... too stupid to live decisions.

When a dragon man saved her from a bullet, she was told she imagined it. When she's told her feelings for her rescuer were misguided, she took off. When she finds herself in the crosshairs of a mafia family, she runs again even from those who would help her.

I liked Sean and how he found his place on Earth with the help of the Flahertys. When Jules disappeared he was told to let her go and he must follow Earth's customs. He didn't like it but never forgot her. He won't make the same decision the next time he finds her.

This story had promise but I got so annoyed with Jules it really took a lot of enjoyment of the story away. Sean was the hero and protector that never gave up on her, he deserved better.

Not My Favorite Story

Audiobook Review:
I seem to go back and forth about how I feel about the books in this Captured by a Dragon-Shifter series by the very talented Michelle M. Pillow. I certainly enjoyed the previous story that took place in Cajun country, but I didn't really like the book previous to that quite as much. Similarly, I wasn't wild about this one. Perhaps because it had fewer paranormal elements and it took place on Earth. I certainly tend to like the stories that actually take place on the planet Qurilixen more than ones that take place on Earth (unless there’s a strong paranormal aspect, like the Cajun country story). After all, I'm familiar with Earth, so it is much more interesting to visit another planet through story, especially as it is funny to watch the Earth females trying to adapt to that very different Qurilixen culture. I did like the narrator of this story, who did a great job with Boston accents. Perhaps another reason I didn't like this story is that the heroine was a bit too much of a tough cookie to be thoroughly likable to me. I like how the shifter was able to integrate himself with a caring, large Boston Irish family and how he became helpful in the community. If you enjoy listening to audiobooks and want to listen to this entire series, this book isn't bad; it's just not great as many of this author's other works are.

I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.

HUNTED BY THE DRAGON is a Qurilixen World Short Novel and chronologically, the first installment in the Captured by a Dragon-Shifter series by Michelle Pillow. This is another fun and steamy story of two people from vastly different worlds, culture and well different everything fall deeply in love.

The planet Qurilixen has a problem, no females are being born. Fearing the eventual end to the Draig and Var, the  portal that brought them from Earth to Qurilixen has been resurrected. The first volunteer has been sent through the portal to Earth to test the viability of using it to find mates.

Seanan volunteered to be the first dragon shifter to go through the portal. It was supposed to be a quick back and forth trip. Stranded in Boston three years ago, Seanan has been working to blend in. He met his mate immediately and lost her just as quickly. Now she's back and just stole his car. She's running from something or someone and he must find her. It's his job to protect his mate.

Get ready for misunderstandings and confusing outcomes as the two world cultures collide. Nothing can adequately describe the situations and humour in this romantic story.

I really enjoy these fun, sexy stories. The situations make you laugh out loud. I recommend this book and the series to anyone who likes fantasy romance on an intergalactic planet and some steamy and fun reading.

Seanan is on the Planet of Qurilixen enjoying an evening with his brothers. He has been asked by his King to go to Earth. It's only to be for a short time. He goes through the portal, hears a woman scream and as honor is strong, he goes to help. He is hurt and the Flahertys thank him and tell him they are in his debt. He took the bullets meant for the old man's son. Two years later he is still on earth. In going to the rescue of the woman he left the portal but something in her voice.....Now he's a bounty hunter. He is being held up by someone who he disables then discovers it is Jules, the woman he saved two years ago. She needs his car to get away from danger. But she realizes she still has feelings for him. But she has to get gone fast. Then the head of the Velázquez crime family calls her and tells her to come back..not going to happen. He finds her again after a spanish mafia hit man tells him to let them know if he finds her because she's dangerous. But she won't say anything. He gives her his number and leaves. She finds a ride with a trucker who turns her over to Hector. But Sean finds her and saves her. Now they're running and she has to decide what to do..will they be able to get her to safety? Will he ever be able to get back to his planet and will she be willing to go with her?
Another fantastic story from Michelle.

Hunted by the Dragon is a very good read. Seanan is stranding on Earth for two years after entering the portal from Qurilixen. After rescuing Jules, which was the reason he was stranded, he made a new life for himself with his new found friends, the Flaherty clan for saving their son, Officer Brian Flaherty in the same attack that Jules was in.

After two years, being a bounty hunter, Seanan is being carjacked by the woman he saved. Except this time Jules is in serious trouble. Again.

From Seanan's POV, his story made sense, as he tracked Jules down for his car and also the excuse that he wasn't letting Jules go after he finds her again.

Form Jules' POV, she is conflicted in trying to protect Seanan but made a mess out of things. She wants him and not wants him. She had good reason and trust issues with law enforcement after witnessing a mafia hits.

I was frustrated with Jules and her misconception of Seanan being a bounty hunter. For someone who has saved her life, she has a poor sense of judgement. From time to time, it seemed, she doesn't really have a plan for putting her life in danger. I'm just glad that Seanan and his adopted family provided Seanan back-up in rescuing Jules again.

I was disappointed that there was no epilogue, of Seanan and Jules going to Louisiana in finding the Lizard Man. This would be a nice introduction to the next story in this series.

The narrator, Sarah Pavelec did an excellent job in narrating the story. I love the Irish and Hispanic accents that she gave properly to the characters. I also love Seanan's accent, a little of being Qurilixen and Irish. I do hope that the narrator will be back for the next book.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I have decided voluntarily to write an unbiased review for this book. I was not compensated or influence in any way for writing this review.

This Qurilixen dragon-shifter romance is great fun from beginning to end. I really liked the characters, and the tension of the plot kept the story moving briskly. The romance was spot-on, enjoyable without taking away from the rest of the story. The characters were all interesting and sympathetic. I really enjoyed seeing a dragon-shifter on modern-day Earth as well. Pillow does a great job of integrating Seanan into modern life and giving him the skills and knowledge needed to be a virtual force of nature in finding and protecting Jules when she needs his help the most. Full of both drama and heart-stirring romance, this story really hits the spot.

I definitely think that this book (and series) would be best enjoyed by readers who have read Pillow’s Dragon Lords series, where the dragon-shifters and the Qurilixen world are introduced. I haven’t read the previous books in this particular series, either – the Captured by a Dragon-Shifter series – but had no problem understanding and enjoying this story. I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of this series and seeing what else is happening where the Qurilixena and Earth-dwellers meet!

Jules is in the wrong place at the wrong time when she overhears three criminals in an alley way, they give chase and start beating her up. When she screams for help, she didn’t expect a dragon man to help her. Later, she thinks she must have imagined it!
Seanan (Sean) has come to Earth through the portal that the Elders closed many years ago, his mission is just to have a quick look to see how the humans have developed but when he hears a woman scream, he runs to her rescue. Whilst saving her and an off-duty policeman, he gets shot. The policeman he saves protects him and as he is now trapped here, he helps him blend.
Sean spends a long time trying to find Jules but she always managed to avoid him, until now.
This is such a wonderful story. Sean is confused at first but soon learns our ways and blends in as a bounty hunter. Jules is fed up with criminals winning and so is trying to take them down but she doesn’t know who she can trust. They both feel the pull but Sean is trying to understand earth woman and Jules is a flight risk which makes this such a fun read. Looking forwar to reading the next in series.

When Seanan traveled to Earth through a portal, it was supposed to be a quick trip. Upon arrival, he hears a woman scream and charges to the rescue, saving the woman and an off duty Boston cop and taking a couple of bullets for his trouble. But the woman and the cop are safe and he is rescued by the family of the officer, who saw him transform to a dragon and realize he will need help fitting in. Since he missed his portal ride home and has no idea how to get back to his planet, he starts learning about his new home and fits into the family of the cop he saved. He starts a career as a bounty hunter, using his super sense of smell to help him track down bail jumpers. All is going well, until the woman that he saves, crashes back into his life by trying to carjack him. She is running from trouble and stubbornly avoids his help. Great adventure. Sizzling romance. If anyone is looking for me, I am out searching for that portal!

Although this story doesn’t follow any sequence to the main series it is still a wonderful read. I cannot stop chuckling over Jules Dalton. Everywhere she goes trouble finds her and she doesn’t grasp her attempts to be a vigilante and help people actually sabotages herself. Thankfully she finds herself a hero. Seanan “Sean Flaherty” is ordained to travel the portal to Earth to retrieve women or at least one woman to help populate his world. Apprehension due to the Draig and Var’s abrupt removal from Earth due to human’s violence, Sean gets quite a remarkable entrance. The story flows and becomes so entrancing it is a fast read from the constant exploits of Jules mischief and Sean’s chivalry. I absolutely love it and how it brings a potential segue for another story lead in of the mysterious “lizard man” down in Louisiana. I only wanted to yell at Jules a couple times as she is a magnet for trouble.

This is the fourth installment in the Captured by the Dragon Shifter series and is Seanan and Jules story. Seanan is a dragon shifter from Quirelixen who comes with his comrades through a portal to Earth to check into the prospect of acquiring mates for the shifters as there is a deficit of females on their planet. While exploring he is separated from his group when he hears a women screaming and is compelled to answer her call. Jules is the human female who he rescues and is drawn too. Seanan is befriended by a family called the Flaherty's and they help him learn about Earth and fit in. I do feel kind of sorry for Seanan because Jules does seem to have a death wish constantly putting herself in danger trying to bring down a mafia type crime family in Boston. There is plenty of action and drama in their story to keep you entertained. I highly recommend you check this one out to find out if they finally get their HEA.

This is a prequel to the main storyline about the Draig and Var princes. This is set in the modern era, our era, where a Draig warrior comes through the Portal leaving his brother behind and finds a woman and a guy who is trying to help her in trouble. Seanan gets hurt in the process and he is taken in by the guy's family, Brian Flaherty, his brother and his father are all off duty cops when it happens. Now a few years later, Sean is a bail bounty hunter and he is good at his job and he has strong feelings for the woman he helped save, Jules. She comes back into his life like a sledge hammer, lol. Things go crazy and the Flaherty clan and Seanan are upset and want to help. Jules is very stubborn, to say the least. Honestly, they are all heroes. I love them all. I thought I loved the original princes storyline of the Draig and Var, but I liked this book the most. That is saying something. I can't wait to read more.

Michelle M. Pillow has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Jules and Seanan (Sean). Sean is a dragon shifter who has been sent to earth to look around. As he is getting ready to go back to the portal, he hears a woman scream and he goes to help. Sean saves Jules, but he gets shot for doing so. He lost contact with Jules after he was hurt. He was looking for her after he recovers but he can't find her. Jules has gotten Juanita and her brother Hector killing two women and now they are after her. Now two-years later, Sean finds Jules again. She steals his car when he is looking for a bail jumper. Sean ends up saving Jules time and time again but she doesn't want to put him in danger so she tries to stay away from him.
Will Sean get Jules to let him keep her safe?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend this book to anyone.

Seanan is charged with testing the portal to Earth, and is supposed to return promptly to the planet Qurilexen. (Seanan isn’t a flying dragon, but more of a big lizard.) Right after going through the portal, he finds himself in the middle of a crime scene. Seanan takes shots intended for a woman and a police officer, and the portal closes. The police officer’s family takes care of Seanan, keeps his secret and teaches him about Earth. He eventually becomes a bounty hunter, which comes in handy when he tracks the woman he saved after their paths cross again. Jules is his match. He’s determined to take care of her, and Jules is determined to protect Seanan by staying away from him. Jules is still running from the crime family that had tried to kill her. She witnessed a murder and has evidence, but doesn’t know who she can trust. This story has lots of suspense, action and heat. Very entertaining.

“He saved her life, and she owed it to him to make it a meaningful life.”

Sean headed out on a quick trip… and found himself jumping into a situation he didn’t fully understand, yet knew he had to intercede in. When injuries made it impossible for him to return home he did the only thing he could… learned to live among humans, fortunately for him, he had the help of a noble clan.

Jules was trying to do the right thing, unfortunately wrong place, wrong time seemed to sum up her life, and her luck better. Unsure who to trust, her instincts keep telling her Sean will always be the heroic man who saved her life the night they first met.

This done in one book is full of interesting characters, a rich community, and explores the challenges of standing up for what you believe in, and doing the right thing, in the more dangerous corners of our modern world.

Ms. Pillow is one of my older authors that I began following years ago. She does an awesome job with world building, realistic characters, story lines and my favorite series books.

Dragons and finding their mates in different worlds and places sometimes keeping you on the edge of your seats wondering will they get together and solve the problems they come up against.

I could tell you but I'm not spoiling the fun or giving you verbatim what occurs.
Your opinion might be different than mine anyway. My advice is to check them out and see if you get lost in the story for however long it takes you to read.

Will it be a page turner for you? It was for me. I love discovering the mystery of the stories I read.

I found a complimentary copy on booksprout and chose to write a review. In my on honest words of the opinion I held.

It was suppose to be a simple "there and back", nothing is ever that simple.
He's injured while trying to save a woman, her voice, , , calls to him. Two years later, he meets her again. She's robbing him!
Jules remembers him well. She doesn't know why she dreams about him.
She's in trouble, shes seen something, the kind of something where others want you dead and
while Sean is determined to help her, she doesn't want him hurt.
The first time they come together is unexpected, urgent and explosive. And while they have to stay in front of the danger,
it's impossible to keep their hands off of each other.
Action, passion, intrigue and even a few laughs. What more do you need to make a good story?

Should be 4.5 stars but seems that there are no halves here. This is a shorter book in the Qurilixen universe although by many standards it is novel length. Seanan is asked to travel to Earth in an attempt to find mates for his people leaving his only family, his brother behind. He knows that Jules is his mate as soon as he steps through the portal and then it all goes wrong in the worst way possible. They meet again two years later and Jules does nothing but push him away, use him and push him away again. I have to say that the book is very well written and it is a sign I suppose of the matebond that Sean just keeps going and loving her. Personally I tried but I just couldn't like Jules. Good as the story is I truthfully have to say it. Others may understand her better though.
