This box set contains all of the Lupa Schwartz novels and novellas which have been released since the first. The entire series; Extreme Unction, Common Sense, Fair Play, Shared Disbelief, and Five Secrets; tells the story of Cattleya Hoskin, journalist for Gamut Magazine who moves from Cleveland to Pittsburgh to chronicle the investigative caseload of Lupa Schwartz, the outspoken PI with a love for women, classic cars, comedy movies, and good meat; and has a strong disdain for religion, bad parking, and wasted time. If you read the Nero Wolf novels and were a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you’ll know the paradigm of PI and chronicler, and you’ll be sure to get a kick out of this modern twist on the tropes.
Book one, Extreme Unction, is available to read for free, so this set, which brings books two through five together in one place, makes owning the entire series easier than ever before.

I enjoyed reading Extreme Unction and decided read this box set which includes books 2 - 5 of the Lupa Schwartz mysteries which I got during a cross-promotional event.
This is a Detective Mystery series.
Common Sense (book 2) is set about five months after Extreme Unction ended. Cattleya Hoskins returned to her home. She attempted to get back with her ex-husband until he did two unthinkable things. One, took another story away from her and two, died. She turned to Lupa Schwartz to help her determine who and why he was murdered.
Fair Play (book 3) contains the three novellas described below. Overlord: After the mystery of Cattleya's husband's death, there hadn't been any interesting cases for Lupa Schwartz to solve. When a contestant on a 24/7 TV reality series dies, a call goes out from the producers to see if anyone from the viewing audience can help solve the murder. Cattleya is intrigued when Lupa watches only a clip and claims to know who did the deed. In a competitive mood, Cattleya tries to figure out what he saw. Will she succeed before Lupa announces it on live TV? Counterfeit: Lupa and Cattleya go undercover in a convenience store to determine who murdered the manager and discover that not all the money is real. Confessions of the Cuckold: This is about Lupa's associate who is a bounty hunter. On his way back from retrieving a bail jumper, the conversation with the alleged pedophile turns to two-timing women.
Shared Disbelief (book 4) Normally Lupa Schwartz does not resolve cases concerning a serial killer but this time, his knowledge of religious history has him doing what he can to outwit the murderer. Will he succeed before someone close to him is hurt?
Five Secrets (book 5) Cattleya discovers that Lupa has at least five secrets that puts them on the run from an all-powerful family.
I enjoyed this whole series because it educated and entertained me. I found it interesting that Lupa Schwartz is an atheist who has friends and associates from all walks of life. He does not try to 'de-convert' them yet that does not keep him from sharing what he has learned about religions of all kinds.
Warning: This is for Mature Audiences due to Violence, Adult Language, and Hints of Sexual Situations.
