All enlightened beings, most founders of religions and many renowned scientists knew and understood the six principles of enlightenment. These universal truths have been written about, taught and discussed for thousands of years yet remain shrouded in mystery and misinterpretation. This book seeks to remove that shroud.
The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life is an intellectual and spiritual work that explains the six significant universal truths woven throughout science, religion and philosophy. These principles draw upon thousands of years of wisdom and are presented in a concise, accessible format. Each principle is defined and has an explanation on its application to life; they are further supported by quotes of wisdom from enlightened beings, philosophers, artists and scientists like Buddha, Albert Einstein, Rumi, Stephen Hawking and Jesus. Understanding the six principles then unlocks the meaning of life which is explained in the final chapter.
Award-winning and bestselling author Russell Anthony Gibbs is a philosopher and spiritual seeker on a quest for enlightenment. His research into Baha’ism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Sufism and Taoism greatly influences his spiritual and philosophical perspective. He is also profoundly influenced by the information from two channeled entities, Seth and Abraham. He further incorporates quantum mechanics, physics and psychology as well as concepts from the works of Albert Einstein, Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud and Stephen Hawking.
Gibbs’s communication style is concise, intense and deep. He would rather express wisdom in brief, powerful quotes and concise paragraphs than in complicated, long-winded explanations. Espresso Wisdom is short, strong, rich insight. Like espresso coffee, it gives an intense jolt of enlightenment. Enlightenment is an awakening, and Espresso Wisdom is meant to help jumpstart you on your journey.
Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion.
Powerful, wise and motivating teachings in little book.
So many lessons, so little words.
No sermons or preaches, just the real-life experiences and realization in a well written and organized work.
At some points I felt as if the author had been given supernatural powers that he got to know the answers I was looking for, found it and wrote them in a prolific manner. I could relate myself to it in a deep level. Many times did I wonder, how the writer is able to explain rocket-science-looking stuffs in laymen's terms.
What compelled me most about the lessons was it had richness and prosperity in its content.
For combining religion, Quantum Physics, philosophy and Scientific teachings, without producing any conflict between them, clearing confusions and providing satisfactory solutions, I congratulate, salute and respect the author for this Herculean quest.
I adored how real life implementations were described after each chapter, supporting them even further with motivating quotes by enlightened personalities who have achieved a lot philosophically and scientifically.
I've certainly gained empowering messages about life from this 72 pages book than from anything else. In a few words, the author has made a huge impact on me.
Verdict: If you see this book and start contemplating, 'I should read it or not?' then dude, STOP THINKING.
“The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exists in all creation.” – Michael Jackson
Six Principles of a Enlightenment and the Meaning of Life by Russell Anthony Gibbs is “a reference guide for your path to enlightenment”. Gibbs summarizes each of the Six Principles of Enlightenment.
I’ve been fascinated with the concept of Enlightenment since studying the rules of attraction years ago. Gibbs takes that concept and expounds it to include oneness, openness, multi-realities, and neutrality. Although the concepts are very dense and complex, Gibbs does an admirable job summing each up in clear concise language. The book is insightful and the language articulate. Readers who feel this title may be too complex needn’t worry. He defines each principle then gives a concise overview of each. Each chapters ends with several quotes that sum up the principle in simple words. I highly recommend this title to anyone who has ever questioned “the meaning of it all”.
I rate it: *****
**ARC received via NetGalley for an honest review**
While at first glance this book appears to be short, one must truly read and ponder it to begin to grasp the much deeper meaning. This book gives simple yet very thought provoking answers to the Law of attraction or enlightenment. While many may feel the law of attraction was brought forth in this century, in reality it has been around for thousands of years and is expressed through multiple religions and philosophers. I love the quotes at the end of each principle that are used to show example of this. Thousands of years ago this knowledge was shared only with the philosophers and those who were enlightened. Today it is available to anyone who is willing to take the time to truly understand and practice this deep wisdom. This is a book that needs to be read many times over and each time you can walk away with a completely new level of understanding.
Really interesting book. Russell Gibbs makes your mind question what you have been taught your entire life. Just by reading those pages, I have found myself thinking more deeply about the universe and the world around me. I love how he made each principle into an inspirational message as well.
The only thing I wasn't the biggest fan of was the quotes at the end of each chapter. I understand what Russell was trying to do (support/justify each principle with various figures and religious texts), but they just felt kind of randomly inserted at the end of each section.
Either way, this book is incredible and perfect for anybody with a busy schedule. It requires only about an hour to read. I dare you to expand the boundaries of your mind with it.
The author, Russell Anthony Gibbs , gave me a copy of this book in exchange for my review.
This book was different from the usual novel series that I read but I’m glad that Mr. Russell gave me this book for my honest review and honest it’s going to be. Even though this book was a short read, each chapter had so much depth and knowledge put into it. The cover of the book is beautiful with all the symbols of different religions and loved that author had explained the symbolism of the cover. There is an introduction chapter as to what is enlightenment. Then comes the six principles of enlightenment. By reading each principle I started comparing them to each every aspect of my life. Loved the quotes at the end of each chapter. Each quote is a simple fact that we overlook or that we don’t often adapt in life but it actually holds great meaning. This book has changed the way I look at life. The author did a great job of explaining each principle.Hats off to Russell on creating such a masterpiece.
The six principles of enlightenment and a quote from the book which I liked. 1 )The Principle of Oneness “ Everything in the universe is within you. Ask all from yourself” -Rumi
2) The Principles of Manifestation “At certain points in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That’s the world’s greatest lie.” – Paulo Coelho
3) The Principle of Multiple Realities “The only limits to the possibilities in your life tomorrow are the buts you use today” – Les Brown
4) The Principle of Timelessness “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment”- Buddha
5) The Principle of Neutrality and Nonjudgment “I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe”- Dalai Lama XIV
6) The Principle of Openness “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”- Albert Einstein
I would like to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to review this book.
And congratulations to Russell on winning the 2016 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award for Best Spiritual Self Help Book for The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life.
Russell has produced something almost impossible to imagine in such a brief number of pages, an accessible wide-ranging exploration of the very meaning of life. It helps for me that his conclusions very much match my own views, though I cannot imagine being able to express them as lucidly and in such an interesting way as he does. Russell sees the entirety of existence as one and he includes in that oneness a universal underlying intelligence. His vision is more rewarding than that which you find in basic pantheism and reading his book allows you to look out upon the world with the wonder of a new arrival in this most amazing place. One point on which I have difficulty is the suggestion (which later appears to be tempered and more or less satisfactorily resolved) namely the idea that since all us are one there is really no difference between (a) that which we usually consider as good or (b) that which we consider to be evil. In other words the idea that morality is a subjective invention of man. The consequences of this uncomfortable notion are balanced by his answer to the question "Then why should anyone choose to lead a virtuous life?" "Harmony and happiness is the result of a virtuous, enlightened life while discord and suffering is the result of a selfish and ignorant life. The Universe is just expressing itself in every possible variation, to experience itself and you get to choose which one you prefer. If you wish to live in a reality of peace, harmony and love, you will choose an enlightened path. If you wish to live in a reality of pain, suffering and hatred, you will choose to ignore the wisdom that would free you from this unpleasant reality" This book is full of food for thoughtful reflection and I am pleased that Russell has allowed me the opportunity to review it.
It is not my inclination to read books that promise to be inspirational. I made an exception for Mr. Gibbs’ book and was pleasantly surprised by what I discovered. The material he covers is complex and far-reaching. His discussion begins with science, both mainstream hard science and theoretical physics. Mr. Gibbs blends what scientists know and what they believe may be true about the universe, with the speculative ideas of great philosophers across cultures and epochs. Though one may disagree with Mr. Gibbs’ analysis, there is much to be learned from what he has to say.
This is a brief book, free of jargon and condescension. It left a lasting impression on me. Since finishing The Six Principles of Enlightenment and the Meaning of Life, I’ve read about how bacteria sense each other. Called quorum sensing, this ability to communicate and react as individuals in a group brought to mind Mr. Gibbs’ ideas about the interrelatedness of the universe.
If you like to think about life’s big questions, you’ll enjoy Mr. Gibbs’ discussion. And if you don’t care about those big ideas, then read the book for the science. String theory, time continuum, dark matter and many other notions are explained in simple terms. Even if you're not inspired by Mr. Gibbs’ discussion, you'll likely gain insight into the physical reality in which you move every day. I know I did.
"The Six Principles of Enlightenment" by Russell Gibbs is a great book to read. It clearly puts forth the Six Principles clearly, like the Principle of Oneness. The Principle of Oneness states that we are all related in the sense that we are all part of the same universe. Energy can be neither created nor destroyed, but it's form can be changed from energy to matter and back again. There are other principles as well, like the Principle of Manifestation. This is the same thing as "think yourself to wealth or happiness". You just have to concentrate and do this each day. There are other concepts covered as well like the models of energy, models of consciousness, and how you are the univers.
I found the book easy to read, and the quotes at the end of each chapter really showed me how other people saw the principle, which helped me understand the subtleties ev en more. Highly recommended for those seeking more out of life.
This well written and articulate work helps you understand the Universe/God and our relationship to it. It is concise but covers the complex principles quite well. The author’s voice is extremely clear and he supports his arguments with a wealth of meaningful quotes from both scientists and spiritual authorities. This book is a significant summary of the most profound spiritual, scientific, and philosophical principles covering the span of human history. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has ever thought about the meaning of life, the pursuit of happiness, or is a spiritual seeker themselves.
It took me a while to get through this, not because it's bad (it isn't) but because it's the perfect type of book to leave lying around the house. It's good for those moments where you feel you need a shot of inspiration or an uplifting, so whenever I was down or had a few minutes with nothing to do, I'd pick this up. It's a very short book, so you could easily read it through in one sitting, in under an hour. I enjoyed it and would recommend it as a short, interesting read.
Russell Gibbs attempts an important but extraordinarily difficult challenge: pulling together spirituality, psychology, and modern science into a coherent whole aimed at helping readers live more meaningful, centered lives. He succeeds wonderfully.
He handles complex ideas simply and gracefully so that first-time readers can grasp them and experienced readers can explore them in greater depth. Like so many other reviewers, I found the quotations from a dazzling array of sources extraordinarily powerful – they richly illuminate the text. This is a book to read, and re-read, as your consciousness continues to open up to the wisdom it contains.
I won a copy of this book during a Goodreads giveaway. I am under no obligation to leave a review or rating and do so voluntarily. So that others may also enjoy this book, I am paying it forward by donating it to my local library.
This first book is intended as an intellectual overview of enlightenment and to help explain the big picture of our existence. An intense desire for answers, understanding and enlightenment compelled me to seek out wisdom and write this book. Einstein, Buddha, Rumi and Jesus are my greatest influences and their quotes truly speak to me. I also found the channeled material of the entities Seth and Abraham, to be amazing rich and useful. These six teachers each have slightly different ways to explain the complex principles. When you hear the different explanations and compare, you can get a much better understanding of their messages. My hope is that these principles will provide positive and empowering tools for you to better understand and live your life.

The 6 principles of enlightenment are Christianity, Infinity, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism and Islam. Enlightenment is a human existence of purpose and meaning of life, the awakening state to achieve perfect happiness and peace with many pathways and as each person begins their journey they too will reach the ultimate goal.
