Mr. Mormon: Advanced Discourses for Latter-day Saints, Mere-Mortals & Super-Mormons

Rate this book
Mr. Mormon can take a normal LDS member and turn them into a Super-Mormon by using new ideas & discoveries from science, the cosmos, world history and the scriptures. Mr. Mormon teaches about a super nova that was recorded by Chinese astronomers at the time of the birth of Jesus. It discovers that Joseph Smith taught the theory of time relativity over a half of a century before Albert Einstein. It proves that Moses could not have been writing fiction as his account in Genesis states that the moon and the sun were created on the 4th day of a 6th day creation period aligning perfectly with the 14 billion year time line of the universe. It fills in the gaps between the creation story verses the evolution of man on planet earth. It solves that age old question about Adam’s paradox in the Garden of Eden with the dilemma of breaking one of God’s commandments in order to keep the other commandment. The author has received hundreds of messages and letters from Mormon Missionaries all over the world, thanking him for writing this book as it explains the Mormon perspective in a fun and simplistic way.

I loved this book. It is perfect for people that have questions about the gospel, want to deepen their knowledge, or want to know how to discuss the gospel with friends or family. While I agree with the majority of things the author says, there are a few minor things I do not completely agree with. Regardless of those things, he stays very doctrinal based and references often to the Bible, reliable scientific based sources, other scriptures or quotes. Because of this, he is a good source himself for anyone that has ever struggled with how science and religion, specifically Christianity, work together. For example, he goes into great depth about how the structure of the solar system are similar to the plan that God has for us and examples found in the Bible. He premises this on the idea that science tries to explain how things happen, but religion explains why they happen. The author does a good job of sharing personal experiences that add to the views he shares. Many of the problems or questions he addresses apply directly to my life whether it was a question I once had or something I am currently struggling with.

interesting, informative, and excellent work. well done!

I gained a lot to think about, ponder over, and reflect upon. Thank you for your years of dedication in studying the scriptures and offering your thinking to all of us. Your prior work in trying to learn the truth through studying many different church doctrines has definitely paid dividends. Welcome to the true Church of Jesus Christ.

Excellent Book

I really enjoyed this book but being forced to comment is rediculous. I can’t leave this page without writing 20 words or more. So there you have it. Excellent book. Stupid way to get readers from Goodreads to comment.

Some really interesting ideas and quite a bit of science. I found this book very interesting. It wasn’t perfect but it was worth reading if you are interested in science and scripture.

I loved this book and I'm eager to read more from the author. Doesn't take itself too seriously while at the same time raising profound thought provoking topics. Inspiring
