Bluegrass Seduction is a STANDALONE novel, the first in the sizzling Bluegrass Billionaire Trilogy by Alice Ward and Jessica Blake.
Alice Ward is the bestselling author of dozens of hot and steamy contemporary romances. She’s an amazingly prolific writer, releasing a new book almost every single month. Her books are widely read, especially by women and any other lovers of the romance genre. My Stepbrother, My Lover, was her first smash hit.
5 Star Kindle Unlimited Read This is the first book I've read that Alice Ward has co authored with Jessica Blake. I was floored. I honestly didn't think I would enjoy a telling of blue blood society. Was I ever so wrong.
Not only was not truly centered around blue bloods but two black sheep blue bloods bonding.
It was full of cheeky and delicious moments between the love birds. The best parts was teaching the other their limitations of acceptance.
The side stories like any blue blood family was full of scandal, lies, and betrayal. I think the best is that the true cunt and asshole of the tail get what's owed to them in the end.
However, the tail ends on a cliff hanger that I never even dreamed of coming as zero hints were left throughout the entire first book.
Auggie's mother is very controlling, so controlling that she sends her to therapy with a psychologist that she knows. Auggie being a smart girl knows that this doctor will be running right back to her mother telling her everything she has said in their session, only to her surprise the psychologist she sees isn't the one that her mother sent her to but his new partner. Well, lets just say that right there things aren't going to go as smoothly as her mother thought. Oh Baby! The stuff that happens next has her mother twisting and not in a good way.
Worth finds himself in a quandary, does he take the position as a psychologist in his father's friends office or does he branch out on his own. Well it goes without saying that he takes the position with the hopes of branching out on his own. After a series of events things seem to be looking up in Worth's eyes.
Auggie and Worth have an interesting relationship that's for sure. There is an instant attraction but you know that it's unethical for a doctor to have a relationship with his patient and if Worth want's to keep his position as a highly respected psychologist he shouldn't do anything that could be frowned upon. Ok, Ok, we all know that Auggie and Worth get together because that's what the book is about but there is so much going on that you really don't care if they are doctor/patient or not but just know that nothing unethical happens between the two...now I cannot say the same thing for others. Auggie's mother is a wicked woman and her father is a Saint - he'd have to be to put up with that miserable woman for so long. And while I'm on the subject Worth's father is a total headcase it's no wonder Worth has such low self esteem and thinks he doesn't deserve any happiness in his life.
This book is the beginning of a new trilogy by Alice Ward and Jessica Blake and I look forward to the next book.
I read this because it came along with the kindle file of another Alice Ward book. I didn't like the first Ward book I read but I try to at least read two books by an author before scratching them. Unfortunately this was another poorly written book. Again the characters weren't very likable, in fact the main characters acted like two spoiled little rich children throughout the book. The plot was all over the place. In fact it felt as if the booked needed to be a certain length so it was just added to and added to. I won't be reading the other two books in this series.
I just spent the day n most of the reading this couldn't put it down. The plots twists the characters the unveiling and flow can't wait to start book 2
Auggie is going to see a psychiatrist on her mother's order. So when she meets Worth she's shocked that he isn't whom her mother wanted her to see. When worth meets Auggie he's intrigued. He can't stop thinking of her and wants her to himself. Will Auggie turn him down? How will her controlling mother feel about this? Great read.
Quick adult contemporary read. Somewhat predictable. Story of Auggie, privileged daughter of a wealthy equine family, and Worth, wealthy respected psychologist. Alt POV. HEA. No cliffhanger, but does end on a continuation for the next book. Auggie and Worth.

NB: This review is for all three books. What follows below are my notes/reactions to the series overall. They're not as polished as usual because I abandoned the review at some point and it was too long ago now for me to remember all that much. But this will give y'all a good idea of what's up.
This series is so obnoxious. Both of the main characters are insufferable. They're both from "old money" and totally narcissistic.
The most egregious offense, by far, is that the male protagonist is a psychologist, and he abuses his position with just about every patient he sees, at least as far as the reader knows. Like, he uses his body language to get a client—IN SESSION—to focus on his crotch? Just to mess with her? His whole reason for going in to the field seems to be "I like to f*ck with people's heads." Which, congratulations, how wonderful. You are a garbage human.
They spend so much time telling and not showing. There are lengthy conversations between the two main characters about their relationship, or individual families/lives, and say the most obvious things as if they're these great insights into human behavior. That sort of thing really grates on me in any writing, but in a series where one of the two main characters is a highly educated psychologist who's apparently on the cutting edge, and also "knows how people work" well enough to regularly manipulate everyone around him, the sorts of "breakthroughs" he has are just... completely unbelievable. They're not things that any grown-@ss person hasn't already figured out.
But then again, maybe I shouldn't be surprised, because these characters never seem to learn. In #1, they make the same mistake like 3-4 times. They both do very stupid things in very public/obvious ways, and don't tell each other about it, and then one of them gets part of the story elsewhere and immediately assumes the worst about the other person and flounces without even talking to the other person. Every time they resolve the conflict and "realize" they're better together and (even more) garbage without each other and they vow not to keep things from each other ever again. And then this same thing reoccurs, like, every 100 pages.
From a technical standpoint, the writing is not the worst I've seen, but I think proficient may be a stretch. The authors regularly repeat words or phrases really close together, in a distracting way, and the copyediting isn't great either. They also employ "little did we know how much worse things were about to get" phrasing at least twice in each of the three books.
Everything that happens when the two protagonists are happy is completely boring filler. Everything that makes them unhappy was ridiculous. Aside from the same miscommunication problem happening over and over, the most trope-y stuff happens. Like, in #2 there's an actual "I don't know who I am or who any of you are" amnesia-from-an-accident plot.
This is where my notes ended, but I think y'all can see where this is going. xoxo -Garbage McSmutly
Auggie is privileged and the daughter of a wealthy equine family in Kentucky. Her mother is set on running Auggie's life for her, even though she is old enough to do for herself and graduated college. Bent on embarrassing his father, Worthington LaViere III uses his position as a highly respected psychologist to delve into the secrets he wants to explore. Especially the old money of the Bluegrass set. And Auggie. The green-eyed temptress he’s unable to strike from his thoughts. It’s the beginning of a dynasty built on a legacy of greed, selfishness and pure wickedness. Just remember, anything built on a foundation of lies can topple at any moment.
Auggie is quite spoiled and acts very childish. Worth is controlling and believes himself to be a bad person, like his father, until he meets Auggie and wants to change for the better. Both are terrible at communicating with each other. This is further complicated by them hiding their relationship, causing embarrassing situations and arguments that may have been avoided with the truth.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
WOW!!! What a twisty, action packed and times heartstopping saga. Worth and Auggie are an extremely explosive pair that had me in fits of laughter many times throughout the book. This story ticked all the boxes that make a terrific hit. Alice and Jessica, you nailed it! It sucks you in until the very end, leaving you speechless at the raw, powerful, smutty (my favourite bits), emotional intensity that is this book. I needed a moment to reflect once finished, and marvel at the dramatic creativity and totally captivating way this author puts pen to page. Alice Ward, together with Jessica Blake, have weaved a mesmerising tale that left me breathless. Go grab this book and begin reading now , people! You will be so glad you did.
I received this for my honest review. Wilful and self-entitled Auggie Langford has enjoyed privilege all her life the daughter of a wealthy equine family in Kentucky, her life is ideal. Except for her bitch of a mother and the man who makes her insides twist. Hell bent on embarrassing his father Worthington LaViere III uses his position as a highly respected psychologist to delve into the secrets he wants to explore. Especially the old money of the Bluegrass set and Auggie the green-eyed temptress he’s unable to strike from his thoughts. Auggie and Worth are pure and corrupt in their love and hate relationship. This book had many twists and turns that I didn't see coming, loved their story and the characters it was a great story.
"I was given this book for an honest review" I am new to Alice Ward and Jessica Blake, and I am hooked. This was a great book and once I started i couldn't put it down. There were some twists and turns that made this a real page turner. Aggie and Worth, both had difficult pasts and had to work through some issues, but as things unfolded they were able to work them. I can't wait for the next book, what a cliffhanger.
You did it!! Its been awhile since I've read a whole book. Let alone one with a good story. Lots of sex and twist and turns on every other page. Really looking forward to see what happens next..
This book is pretty realistic. It's like looking into the lives of Worth & Auggie. It had a slow start but I have to say, I felt it was a good book at the end. The cliff hanger provided, leaves a lot of unanswered questions so, of course, I will be reading the second book forthwith.
I enjoyed this story of Worth and Auggie. Worth and Auggie are two strong willed people with a history of an abusive parent. Can they get past everything and find happiness with each other? I enjoyed finding out.
