As this is a book with a collection of personal stories it’s a challenge to rate it with less than five stars. I appreciated each story as these women (and men) opened up to share memories and encouragement with the readers.

I love to quilt. And I love to read. But these two didn't come together in this book.

I received it as a gift with an order of fabric and felt obligated to read it. I don't think the people at MSQC (Missouri Star Quilt Company) understand the importance of editing. I think they took these first-person stories directly from the envelopes they came in. I felt embarrassed reading such poorly written text. The stories might be touching, but if the punctuation, syntax, and diction are lacking, it's hard to be moved.

In the style of Chicken Soup for the Soul series, this book is a compilation of letters from quilters telling their tale of why they quilt. Most are short, inspiring, and anecdotal. As a fellow quilter, it reminds me of the reasons I quilt and the deep friendships I have forged through quilting.
