Captain Michael Sheridan and Master Sergeant Alan Cole are dispatched back to Earth to track down a man who should be dead. Before too long it becomes apparent that they are trapped in a deadly game of revenge. From the depth of space to the streets of Rome and beyond, the fight for the truth has begun.
Richard Turner proudly served in the Armed Forces for more than thirty years. He considers himself fortunate to have had numerous overseas deployments that took him to many varied locations throughout the world, including: Germany, Cyprus, Croatia, Sierra Leone, Bosnia, Egypt, Israel and finally two tours of Afghanistan. Wanting to try something new, he now spends his time writing.
Some of Richard's favourite authors include: James Rollins, Andy McDermmott and the many novels of Clive Cussler.
This seemed more like a si-fi version of a Clive Cussler book with Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino. Turner has strayed along way form the military sy-fi of the first couple of books. At 5 bucks a pop I think I’m jumping off this train.
I have got to say that these are good books most times by the third book the author would be slowing down and getting boring. Not these books can't wait to read the next one. Great job
I feel sorry for the Kurgan. They really deserve to win this war. Their soldiers are all competent, dedicated and fearless. They've obviously been planning for this war for years if not decades.
The Terrans, on the other hand, don't seem to be guarding important installations, deadly biological weapons or impressive secret stealth technology, even after a terrorist attack on Earth. The population seems indifferent about actually fighting the war. Apparently, the loss of a few dozen worlds is a no biggie to the people of Earth.
Luck and a strange betrayal help Michael Sheridan partially stop the latest Kurgan initiative.
This book reminds me more of a bourne novel, with espionage, betrayal, and a chase. I happen to love the bourne novels so needless to say I enjoyed this book thoroughly. Each book has had element of action. It isn't just about military action, but covert ops in this one. The action is very well paced. At this rate you could probably turn these books into movies or a series on HBO. If you read the 1st 3, then this is must read. If you haven't, you need to. They are all excellent and I can't wait for the 5th one now.
Thought this was a good continuation of the story. This book is, in fact the series is more about people than science fiction. The protagonists stay in harms way, but manage to live another day. Really enjoying this series.
