Wow, this was one of the best books I’ve read so far. This book is about Lionel Messi,
one of the best football players in the world; if not the best in the world. Lionel Messi started his career as a football player in Barcelona however, that didn’t work out so he moved to Paris Saint Germain and embarked on a journey that eventually led him to the best football player ever. He trained with some of the biggest coaches of our generation such as Pep Guardiol, Lionel Escaloni, Mauricio Pochetinno, and many more. The book covers 20 lessons about how to be a better footballer and get the best out of yourself, So for me I would give this book a 5 star rating.
These are some of my biggest lessons from the book. 1. Have fun. Across the entire book Messi mentions how important it is to have fun. 2. Listen intently and care about people. The most important thing in a team is trust, so that people can be their most authentic self and vulnerable with each other and when this happens it gives the best results. However; for people to trust us we need to be trustworthy. We can start by being our most authentic self and showing others that we care about them, their family, and everything they do so that we can create genuine friendships with our work partners. Other lessons are: Work hard, play smart.
This book has already impacted my Hero’s Journey. It taught me many things, in fact it
taught me so much about leadership and what it means to be a foorballer in a match that I had a hard time crunching everything down to my three favorite lessons from the book. This book will help me become a better leader and know how to guide people to be the best version of themselves and reach their own goals inside a company/business or even a match. Whether they are employees or the company's leaders/founders or footballers.
Be a team player. ...
Don't run with the ball until you've caught it. ...
Be good at everything and great at something. ...
Play through the pain. ...
Keep your opponent honest, balance your attack. ...
Defense wins championships. ...
Offense wins fans.
.
The moral dilemma of this book was to have passion and to have trust in yourself. Messi said that he had to struggle with many people that hate him and told him that he was bad at football but he followed his passion and trusted in himself and got to the place of the best football player. This book relates to my hero’s Journey because I also play Soccer and I love it. This book changed me as a reader in reading more books like this one. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about leadership. Messi’s approach to leadership is a unique and effective one. In my eyes this book is a must read for everyone. Yes, the book does have a sport approach but the lessons and knowledge that lie
inside the book can be applied through all aspects of life. It’s an easy and interesting read with real life examples so for me everyone can read this book even the ones that don’t like sports because I know that the book is about sport but all the lessons are not just about football some of them are leadership and hard work so everyone can read this book.
So in a resume I would say this book is a book that can impact a lot of people and so for me it is a 5 star book because it teach you many lessons that you can apply in real life.
