Jake finds school difficult but makes a friend and with help soon settles down. Jake is Different is a gentle book on autism/Asperger's syndrome for children and is also a friendly guide for signs to look out for. There are also links to websites on autism.
For anyone on Facebook, I would recommend looking at the comments Rosita Bird makes on far-right (UK) posts, and I'm sure you'd find the fact that she's a published children's author shocking.
Rosita Bird is not only Islamaphobic and racist, she also likes to call anyone who challenges her views "pedophiles". Just the sort of person you want writing books for your kids.
She writes books about tolerance and acceptance, yet in her daily life she is anything but accepting and tolerant. Please don't give this hypocritical monster any money, as she doesn't believe in the core message she's trying to flog to you; i.e. kindness.
Great little children’s book that encourages autism awareness. This story would be helpful for all children to understand those who might be different from themselves, but particularly for those who are in contact with autistic children, to help understand them a little better. It also includes some signs and symptoms of autism and links to further online reading at the end of the book.
