Her team confronts Carter with disturbing information. Is Penny stealing from her, betraying her by working with Carter’s enemies? Nick seems to think so, but Carter doesn’t want to believe her wife could turn against her. She makes inquiries of her own, but what if Penny finds out the woman she loves questioned her integrity? They will have to rebuild the trust between them which takes more than the undeniable heat between them—but once you surrender, it’s forever. Their love will lead them.
Raven J. Spencer, lesbian, married, loves everything sensual and indulgent which led her to write erotic romance and fantasies. When she's not writing, you can often find her on Pinterest in the pursuit of inspiration.
This is the third book in a series sharing the magnificent story of a most intriguing and intricately constructed relationship between two possibly idiosyncratic women. Whether they are or not, they are assuredly passionate about each other. In essence, this series has woven a fantastically complex, multidimensional love affair between two individuals from rather different backgrounds. Unlike anything covered in the first two books (which I recommend be read prior to this third book), a situation erupts that in a very short period of time places both women in an emotionally tumultuous upheaval with implications and repercussions leading to far ranging consequences. This shift in storyline explodes on the scene disturbing everyone's equilibrium. Sublimely disconcerting!
Carter Forbes is more or less a complicated individual. Her style of management, those inside clues as to how intensely she responds to Penelope, and her high-octane confrontation with several trusted long-term employees make this third book an explosive eye-opener. The penetrating look into what makes Carter tick and how she feels about her staff is more than a tad mind-boggling. These eye-openers add some startling insights in to Carter's makeup, focus, and the personal ranking of what is really important to her. The mystery about where Carter comes from is partially unraveled. Carter is a decidedly monumental success story, yet she has a huge heart that could put her at risk. I wonder if Carter truly realizes how much Penelope complements, promotes, and enhances all her strengths while she captures her heart. Impressive!
Penelope Elliot, called Penny by almost everyone, is an astonishingly astute woman. Additionally, it is important to Penny that all who know her realize she intentionally and lovingly chose to be with Carter as her wife and then some. Penny is particularly concerned that her family is clear and comfortable with her remarkably altered mode of living and position. After Penny experiences a critical undermining of her faith, a particular part of her core and soul needs succoring. Penny needs an expanded perspective plus a solid foundation upon which to forgive and understand. For me, Penny is a winner from the git-go, I just love her, and I continue to be in her peanut gallery at all times. Moreover, her willingness to pretty much present her heart and essence on a platter to her mate makes her one of the most astoundingly ethereal women I have ever encountered. She simply takes my heart away and I profoundly desire that she stays unharmed and as preciously innocent as is realistic. Breathtakingly delightful!
The three books currently making up this series most assuredly should be read in order so the wondrous buildup is not missed. Carter and Penny will remain in a treasured place in my heart and memory. Captivating!
NOTE: This book was provided by the author for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.
After reading the first two books in this series, I was very excited about diving into the third instalment. In book one, Penny has to deal with being abducted and falling for her captor, something she did hard and fast. Book two, both ladies have to learn to live together in the ‘real world’, not secluded on an island, which in and of itself was full of trials.
As with the first two books the kink/erotic scenes are mentioned many times, but not given much page time. A paragraph and it’s over. There’s one scene right near the end where I got excited, literally my pulse sped up, and I was all … yes, yes, yes, time for these ladies to shine and for the author to turn up the heat – the scene wouldn’t have been gratuitous, it would have fitted the plot perfectly – but again it fizzled. I mention this as had I not been expecting some real heat in this installment, I wouldn’t have felt letdown when it wasn’t delivered.
Book two ended with Carter’s mother needing help, well Carter’s business contacts to help get a friend out of a bad situation. Thus led me to believe it would be a rather large driving force of book three. It wasn’t. In this book the angst is caused by mistrust directed at Penny. This is what I struggled with. Nick’s actions made no sense to me. And thankfully, nor did it to Carter once she found out what he was up to. By then the fallout had occurred, which resulted in Penny and Carter being estranged for a while.
Again, after two books and these two ladies being so deeply in love, that their deep bond and love for each other leaped off the pages, I had a very hard time buying into the entire mistrust/miscommunication ordeal. With that, I’m in the minority with my opinion, so please check out all the 5 star reviews this story has already received.
I recommend this trilogy to readers who enjoy lesbian romances with some power exchange, and something a little different from the norm.
Loved the storyline. This could have been so much better if the book had been properly edited. Some of the text left me scratching my head. Such as: I pick out the blue dress I’ve worn on of the first evenings on the island, when for all I knew, Carter could have been a cold-blooded psychopath looking to own me. (huh?) I hate having to stop and reread a sentence to make sense of it. The book is full of these poorly worded sentences.
I truly liked this trilogy and hope Raven J. Spencer continues the story of Penny and Carter. It's what I would call light reading and good for an escape from a crappy day or week. These stories have the right amount of drama and mystery that kept me hooked and wanting more. The chemistry between Penny and Carter was just right. I'll be reading the short Christmas story that ties into this one.
They had to get their personal life back on track after the disastrous way that Nick tried to protect Carter. It almost destroyed everything. Both have enough to deal with and that included huge trust issues. Carter is forced to make difficult decisions and choices are not always easy especially when they involved the heart. Can true love prevail? The story never lagged. Lots of drama and twists in the storyline. The author captures the true essence of love; romantic love, joy, sex, lust, but also disappointment, hurt, anxiety and so much more. The story pulled me right away and it's an well written, heartwarming love story. It really struck a chord with me. I love this series immensely and it makes me sad that this is the last book of this trilogy. A big thumbs up for the author.
I love this series and both of Carter and Penny. Raven has created two people so complementary but equally so different. Unyet she avoids them being stereotypes. This isn't a domme / sub story but it's so much more and so much more like real life in how complex it is!
The tension and events are more about the couple than in previous books. The trouble created by other characters being a reflection of their own gaps as a couple, rather than purely external events this time.
I'm sad it's over... Really besides a few editing errors... this was really well written, very engaging, this book will keep you in the edge of your seat , wanting to skip pages just so you can breath again... Every part of this story from book one to the last is action pack good. You will see how the Author pushes our comfort zones and still keeps it very safe and respectful. I'm very impressed. Ok people, this series is a must own.
Carter and Penny's relationship encounters its biggest obstacle yet. How they deal with it determines their fate. I had a feeling Paris would bring a lot of trouble. I also knew that the connection they share could not be broken. It took some hard conversations, but they got there.
I received a copy of this book from Inked Rainbow Reads in return for an honest review. This was probably the best book in the series in terms of the relationship between Penny and Carter, although for plot I would have to go with the first book. This book had some interesting developments, mainly about a potential problem with Penny that requires investigation, and how Carter and her closest employees react to the situation. And how Penny reacts when things finally come to a head. I've been pushing this whole time for Penny to stand up to the power imbalance between her and Carter. This book sees Penny start to stand up for herself. There's a very big imbalance between them anyway because Carter is extremely rich and is a successful businesswoman, and Penny is a hardworking college student who doesn't come from a family of means. Carter seeks to redress this by giving half of her company and assets to Penny, but it doesn't quite work because Penny doesn't have the background to wield that power effectively. And truthfully, Penny doesn't want that. What she wants is an equal partnership with Carter; she wants Carter to talk to her and treat her like her opinion matters. And at the end of this story, it seems like Carter finally, finally understands what Penny needs, and what the cost of ignoring those needs might be. A very satisfying resolution to this trilogy.
** This is a true series and should be read in order **
I’ve been a fan of this series from the beginning, and I have to say that this book certainly lived up to the hype from what I had for it.
The story starts out with the drama and suspense, yet it was once again great to see as Carter and Penny were able to pull together and keep going strong. I love that part of this series because it shows that if you work hard enough and believe in each other enough, that you can overcome anything.
One thing that I do love about these books is even though there are the sex scenes in them, it’s not the whole focus of the book. We get to spend actual time with Carter and Penny, without it just being a constant stream of sex.
I will seriously be re-reading this series again the future!

Bravo, another excellent masterpiece from this magnificent Trilogy.
As we get to take the last ride with Carter and Penny on their unconventional journey, we learned a very valuable lesson. Love will conquer all.
This two courageous ladies will show you how no matter the task if love is strong it will find its righteous place.
From the moment I was introduced to this magnificent Trilogy, I knew it would be my all-time favorite. Not only does it shows you how strong can be but also how powerful you can become with the right person by your side. You do not want to miss the end of Carter and Penny's love journey.
Gifted by author in exchange for an honest review.
I was sent this book by Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in the trilogy but can be read as a stand alone novel.
A lovely romance, great characters and just the right amount of angst and doubt to carry it through to the the idyllic end it deserves.
An enjoyable read, one you can relax with, because you can have total faith in the author's ability and understanding of her readers to guide her characters through the pitfalls and challenges they face, and, come out still loving and trusting each other.
A great book for anyone who believes that Love is all that matters.
I first read this series over a year ago and was drawn back to it. While the first book has its challenges, I found that each subsequent book showed great strides on both the writing and editing fronts. I'm glad to have revisited this series and will definitely do so again in the future.
I gave it five stars because this book and the other two was a great surprise. As the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover is so true. I didn't read this series because I judged it by the cover glad I got over myself great book and series definitely recommend.
