Guy Rule #3: No sex in the friend zone

Jack Halston’s life changed when his best friend married his sister. He started flying solo more often, especially once his niece and nephew were born. It made him reexamine his life and consider the possibility of settling down. But finding the right woman isn’t easy—unless she’s the one who filled the gap your best friend left behind.

Ellison Reed enjoyed her long-standing work flirtation with Jack. When their friendship deepened over time, she did her best to ignore the chemistry which sizzled whenever he was near… until the night Jack’s possessive tendencies exploded and he claimed the woman who was his. Before someone else could.

An accidental pregnancy between two surgeons who should have known better. A job offer in another state Ellison would be crazy to turn down. Too bad the path from friends to lovers is so complicated.

Warning: This novella contains a sexy alpha, insta-love, and an "oops" baby! It's quick, hot, and dirty.

**This is the third novella in the Yeah, Baby series, but each story can be read as a standalone and features a different couple.

Baby Don’t Go is book three in the Yeah, Baby series by Fiona Davenport.

Jack Halston is Bailey’s older half brother from the first book. In that book, we got a taste of his alpha tendencies the way he was so over protective of his sister. Well, now that his sister is married to his best friend, Wyatt, he lost his wingman. Jack is a pediatric surgeon. He has enjoyed his life but seeing how happy Wyatt and Bailey are, especially now with their twins, he wonders if the right woman could be out there for him. A fellow surgeon at the hospital, Ellison Reed, was at first a respected co-worker, then became a friend. Jack liked Ellie, a lot. But he was afraid to cross the friendship line. He didn’t want to lose her. But when Ellie tells him about an upcoming date, an overnight date, she has planned, Jack has had enough. There is no way he is letting her go on this date. She’s his and it’s about time she knows it.

cave man carrying woman over shoulder:

Ellison Reed has long harbored a crush on the hunky Jack. But Jack never dates anyone from the hospital. And she doesn’t want to jeopardize their friendship. He has never even hinted that he feels anything more than just buddies. So she is completely perplexed when he freaks out after she tells him about her upcoming date. And even more shocked when his mouth crashes onto hers and he claims her as his own.

This book is so cute. Jack is hilarious. I mean, he is in actual pain trying to deny his physical reaction whenever Ellie is around and also the emotional connection they share. But when he decides to go all in, oh boy, he most definitely doesn’t hold back. And he has a plan of action to make sure that she belongs to him.

This might have been the most fun of the three so far. Jack was so much fun to read about. I am truly enjoying this series and look forward to the next book, Dance With Me, Baby.

This is me and this book in a nutshell:

description

In other words...

...Super Meh.

I'm not sure why I didn't love this one, being that I really enjoyed the first two in this series.

Maybe it's because they went from BFFs sitting on the couch watching a movie with some ice cream...to "Hey honey, you want this pussy?" "Yeah baby, I own that pussy," followed by some *growl* *growl* growl* caveman...within 0 to 60 seconds.

description

Or maybe it was just the simple fact that the h calls the H "Honey..."

And then the H compounds my despair and invites further distress when he tells the h something like, "I love it when you call me 'Honey.'"

description

My peeps all know how I feel about that word as a romantic endearment.

And if you don't, you can read about it here and here...because I'm too lazy to write about it again.

Or here's the quick n' dirty explanation:

description

To be clear:
The above gif is about the term "Honey," not this book.

Because, while I didn't OMG lurve it, I didn't hate it either.

Something was just off for me.

But that's just me. And me be weird sometimes. So all my smutters should carry on and read this, because I'm sure they will dig it.

3,5 stars. Whoot, whoot!

Baby, Don't Go is book three in the series and I I really had a great time reading this sweet little hot one. My favorite in the series so far. This is the story of Jack Halston (Bailey’s brother from book one) and Ellison Reed.

Jack and Ellie have worked together on and off over the last two years. Ellison is a general pediatric surgeon and when her patients needed a specialist in pediatric vascular surgery, she usually requested him. A few months earlier, they ran into a tough case and ended up working long hours together. They began to realize they have a lot in common. From there, things took off and they’d been inseparable ever since. Jack’d always been attracted to her, but the friendship they’d developed was important to him and he decided never to cross the line out of the “friend zone”, until the day he finds out that Ellie is going on a date. Little did they know that things were about to shift between them.

Really enjoyed this friends to lovers story. The chemistry between the leads was off the charts HOT and I loved super possessive alpha Jack Halston, hell bent on knocking up his woman. If you are looking for quick, sexy and sinfully erotic steamy romance that features OTT heroes that will left you all warm and fuzzy, this series is just for you.

Jack and Ellie have flirted harmlessly over the two years they have known each other, when they occasionally met at work. Over the last six months they have been best friends and grown really close. They were both attracted to the other, but didn't want to cross that line and ruin the amazing friendship they had. Until one day he finds out she has a date, and his caveman possessive tendencies make him snap and cross it! During this period they were both celibate because as they said, they would compare everyone to the other person.
I really loved this one and the H is so very obsessed and crazy for her, and wanting to get her pregnant. Really OTT alpha. I would have rated it five stars if not for his mentioning,
But like I said it's a great and steamy HOT read! A true smut-fest and a lovely friends to lovers story!

The story is about Jack (don't know his age) and Ellie in her thirties?

Jack is the H's best friend and h's older brother in book 1. Both Jack and Ellie are surgeons. They worked together (not often) for two years and became close in the last few months. Both were attracted to each other but because they' didn't want to ruin their friendship, they tried to fight their feelings. Until Jack knew she has a date. At that moment, he decided not to fight his attraction anymore and they spent the night together. And yes, she cancelled her date.

They're in an exclusive relationship and he wanted to knock her up. But a big promotion was offered to her, her dream job. But she realized Jack is more important to her and she wanted a life with him.

There's a cute epilogue too and Addy was so cute. I love this series! I hope Fiona Davenport writes more like this and I love her epilogues.

Friends become lovers. Nice, cute book. Too much baby talking.
He wants to make her pregnant, they keep having sex without condoms, she is not sure but she never says no.
The book was funny at times, but I really hated the guy because we have met him in the first book of the series and back then he was a jerk.
But anyhow, it was a pleasant book with a good amount of smuttiness.
Definetely recommended if you like books with a baby (or maybe four-five babies) as a conclusion.

**4.5 Caveman Stars**

I have really loved most of Ms. Davenport's books. She is definitely on my watch list for anything new because who doesn't like a possessive caveman? Jack certainly fit the bill in the neanderthal department. I loved his thoughts sometimes. He had me cracking up. Ellie was okay. She got on my nerves just a bit with her indecision about her job. I could understand it but still...I wanted her to say "fuck it!" and jump on Jack!

I really liked that they were friends first though they were both wanting more and were attracted to each other. It just took a small "push" in the right direction for Jack to make his move.

My one tiny complaint was I would cringe when Ellie called Jack "honey" but he talked about eating up her "honey". I didn't want to go there but my mind just couldn't help it lol.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Ms. Davenport comes up with next. Books like this fill my need for insta-love and dirty talking OTT heroes.

A hot, sexy read about friends to lovers with an over the top jealous possessive hero and his intentions to get the woman he’s claiming pregnant. I loved how Jack was relentless in getting what he wanted and how Ellie was strong enough to stand up to him. Even if he did know how to make her weak. This has a wonderful epilogue that has two parts, each giving us a future look at this couple and what their happy ever after looks like.

I really liked this book starting from the second chapter! Jack was super alpha and possessive but I didn't really like how their relationship went from 0 to 50 in a matter of seconds...

So when there is an insta-love, I'm usually down for the crazy caveman antics. But Jack and Ellie have known each other for 2 years... they were great friends and spent a lot of time together. Although he felt things he always held back because of work. And then all of a sudden when he gets jealous he decides to finally make a move on her.

So I just pretended they didn't know eacother for so long prior to the relationship and enjoyed the rest of the story. Jack was very sweet, the sex was pretty steamy, and the epilogue was adorable!

Librito divertido, sexy y tierno pero no tan insta-love

Baby Don't go de Fiona Davenport serie
Yeah, Baby libro 3

Comenzó a

No, no insta-love aquí.

Entonces no me gustó y ahora tampoco me llegó mucho.

3.75+ RATING- This is my favorite of the series so far. Still completely OTT but I was smiling the whole time. The hero's antics had me laughing and I really liked both characters. Short, sweet, and sexy. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

LET ME OUT OF THE friend-zone!!!

We finally get Jacks story!! Jack has been in a slum since his bff married his sister and is a father. He's been spending time with Ellison the past 2 years he feels a attraction towards her but he cares for their friendship more so he doesn't do anything, the same goes for Ellison she had a huge crush on him but doesn't take the leap. Until she announces she had a date that has Jack heart ripped in two and his caveman skills kick in. Kissing her silly and doing the dirty dirty many many times 😄

But their is some tension when Ellison is offered a job offer in another state and that boss is flirting with her she's thinking of taken the job since its her dream job but she wants her relationship to work with Jack.

Jack oh boy Jack is a true alpha he kicks butt and makes sure his girl gets what she wants.. but he wont let her leave him lol

No ow slight om drama, no cheating, secondary chara, sexy times, No virgins  No manwhore 6 months of celabite

Baby, Don't Go is book three in the Yeah, Baby series which is this (new?) sub-genre of breeding/pregnancy/baby craze that I did NOT know what a thing until...now. I mean, AR does it but her entire body of work is focused around insta-love and bodily fluids so I thought it was just her thing.

I admit that I find this idea of a man obsessed with getting a woman pregnant without her permission/knowledge is...different (read: fucked up). To say the least.

The more I thought about it, the idea grew until I was determined to make it happen. Fuck the condoms, if Ellie wasn’t already pregnant, I’d make damn sure she was as soon as possible.
-location 238

“I’m a doctor, Ellie, I know how to use a fucking condom.” I brought my face inches from hers, my expression turning serious. “I just chose not to because I’m going to knock you up, baby. I’m going to fuck you every chance I get until I’m sure my kid is growing in this sexy belly.”
-location 378

“And, let’s be clear about one thing, there is no fucking way you are taking another job and moving away from me. You are mine, Ellison. Or haven’t I made that quite obvious by keeping you in my bed every night and doing my damnedest to plant my kid in you?”
-location 439

I held back, not wanting to come until I was deep inside her and my boys had a chance to swim their little asses right to her eggs. If I hadn’t done so already, this time, I was going to get her good and pregnant.
-location 529

My hands slid down her soft skin to splay over her belly. “This time, I know I gave you my baby. You are mine Ellie, you and our babies.”

4 - 4.5 Honey Stars

Boy I love these little novellas in this series. Short, to the point, but full of hot and steamy loving times.

Dr. Jack Halston is Bailey, from Baby, You're Mine , new found brother. He's been without a best friend and wingman since his best friend, Wyatt, married and impregnated his sister. So he's been hanging out with Dr. Ellison "Ellie" Reed. They started out as colleagues who consulted each other while working in the same department of pediatric surgery at the hospital, and have since grown into friends who spend more and more time together.

But while they are both secretly dreaming about each other, neither of them wants to cross that line and risk their friendship.... That is until the night Ellie tells Jack, she's needs to leave their weekly horror movie night, because she's got a date that starts the next morning and will last the weekend.

What will happen when Jack's secret desires and caveman nature come to the forefront? What will Ellie do when an opportunity she thought she'd lost comes back and threatens to destroy what may be building with Jack?

Funny and sexy times ensue in this installment of the Yeah, Baby series.

I'm not normally a fan of novellas. But I've said it before, Fiona gives me everything I need in a big book in small novella. They move quickly and are fun. Even a little backstory sometimes so you can find your footing.

Thank you again for the opportunity to read your books.

I really liked this book. It is about a friends to lovers story. Not the usual insta-love since both Jack Halston & Ellison Reed were first respected coworkers (doctors) then they became friends before they became lovers. Did Jack think about how sexy Ellie would be in his bed and naked while they were friends? Of course he did! Did Ellie think the same thing of Jack? Of course she did! Then Ellie decides to spend the weekend with another man and BAM! In comes OTT alpha male Jack and the story gets hot!

Raroooo

One thought of losing your best friend/dream girl to another man is all it took for a switch to be flipped in Jack. Ellie was his and no one was going to get in the way of that.

I had to skip book two in the series. Just didn’t like the H and h. Book three was pretty good though. I liked Jack and Ellie. The book was crazy steamy with a great happily ever after. Just like all of the previous books in the series, it is a very quick read full of insta INSTA love, a gorgeous alpha hero, and an unplanned pregnancy. Though with this book Jack made it pretty clear that he was intentionally trying to knock Ellie up, lol.

I thought it was cute that they were both surgeons, and that they started out as friends. The only thing that would have made this book even better, would have been a bit more depth of character for both Jack and Ellie. The only thing I knew about either character was that they were both surgeons, and that they both had been secretly attracted to one another. That’s it. It made making an emotional connection to them difficult. Other than that, the plot had a good flow, and did I mention how steamy it was.

I will be continuing with the series. These are a fun, fast read for that instant gratification that is nice on occasion

This is the third book in the Yeah, Baby series. Fiona Davenport has fast become one of my favorite new authors. She writes about possessive, total Alpha cavemen which I absolutely love. Dr Jack Halston is flying solo ever since his best friend, Wyatt married his sister, Bailey and they had twins, Jack & Julie. Jack's been spending a lot of time with Dr Ellison Reed another pediatric surgeon who works with him at the hospital. One night when they are watching movies at his place Ellie mentions she has an overnight date the next evening and Jack feels extreme jealousy towards this other guy. He then turns into a caveman and claims her so that she won't be dating anyone else ever again. Jack was so funny and he made it clear that he wanted her and that was the end of it.
