Katrina Jacobs knows something is missing from her life--even though most would say she has it all. But when she pays a visit to her sister in the sleepy rural town of Willows, she discovers what's been missing.
Richard Jensen has the looks, the money and the career--now all he needs is the perfect wife. He's convinced Katrina's the one; he just needs to make it happen.
Terry Winters doesn't mind the whispers going on in town--after all, he moved to Willows for his horses, and they don't listen to rumours.
As Katrina grows fond of Willows, she finds herself caught in a battle between substance and form, learning that having it all isn't the same as getting it right.
But is it just the town she's enamoured with?
A Chance to Get it Right is the second instalment in the Copperhead Creek Australian Romance series, and while this is a stand-alone story with respect to the main characters, some of the characters from the first book, A Chance to Come True, make appearances as life continues in the rural town of Willows.
At the age of five S M Spencer's life changed when she was plonked onto a black & white pony for a photograph. From that day on all she wanted was a horse. She spent the next eleven years writing stories about the horses she pretended to ride through the rolling hills of coastal California until she got a job and bought her first horse at the age of sixteen.
In the 1980's her life changed again when her employer offered her a role Australia. This was the beginning of an adventure of which she has never tired.
Still living in Australia she now writes from the semi-rural home she shares with her husband, horses, cats and dogs--not to mention the mob of kangaroos that share the paddocks with the horses from time to time.
Her current series, Romancing the Californian Cowboys, is contemporary romance with just a touch of spice, lots of horses, and both Australian and American characters.
Her second series is the Copperhead Creek Australian Romance series. This is light contemporary/rural romance as well as a murder mystery in book six, set within the Golden Triangle outside Melbourne. All books can be read as stand-alone titles.
The first series she wrote is a YA paranormal romance trilogy, Absent Shadows, which is set mostly in Australia.

I really enjoyed this book! I had read the first one in the series and didn't think the author's writing could get better, but it did. The characters were well developed and I could see the internal growth of the main character as she realized what she really wanted in life (vs. what other people told her she should want). The side characters were fun and memorable, too. I recommend this story to anyone who loves a good romance about taking chances, strong men, and horses (oh, and a sweet dog, too). :)
This clean romance is a light read. We have a character who believes his wife should stay at home and have kids while he brings home the bacon. But of course she’ll be involved in lots of fund- raising events, and even can have a ‘little business’ to occupy herself. It is so patronising to read it in today’s world when the middle grade and ya books are calling for strong female leads. It felt dated, this bloke and his mother are from a different timeline. No doubt our MC fights against this stereotype. Hence the plot is predictable from the outset. I enjoyed watching our MC's business set up process, even if the background work to start a business was glossed over. If you are looking for an easy read, this will fit the bill.
Making it though the ups and downs of finding a forever love
Another great read by this talented author. Wonderfully shaped characters who I could identify with. Although I have to say Richard was a thoroughly arrogant, chauvinist and egotistical man! I think getting rid of him was the best thing Katrina could have done!!
I was captivated by the storyline right from start. It had a good flow. I highly recommend giving this author a go if you haven't read any of her other titles. I am off to pick up book 3 in the series!!
Enjoyed this, story. Katrina may have originally been in love with Richard. Over time they had drifted apart without realizing it. When she saw,the space available, she was, able to achieve something that gave, her life meaning. The chemistry was right for her and Terry from the beginning. They both liked animals and the quietness of nature. Gave it 5 stars
Katrina came to town , and ended up discovering stuff about herself . She was small-town girl at heart . Living in town was stressful for her . Small-town living suited her best . Her longtime relationship with Richard was going nowhere ,it was all his way or the highway and she chose high road ,opening her gym and in the end found true love.
It is a romance story with the girl trying to find herself. And she does and the boy gets the girl in the end. The author developed the characters well and the story line held my interest. Was a good book if you like romance stories.
A CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT is charming Australian romance.
I read the first book in this series and loved it. This book started off more slowly for me, and I really felt like my interest wasn't fully captured until about halfway through the book.
The characters didn't feel as fleshed out in this book as they did within the first book of the series, and this may have been why I felt less connection to them and grew easily irritated with their indecisiveness, for example. Also--and I realize this is a personal preference, but I'll list it anyway--I wanted more at the ending! If there had been no epilogue, I'm not sure what I would've done. Thrown something, probably. LOL
Still, it was an enjoyable read and I'm definitely interested to see what happens next in the quaint town of Willows.
This book was so much more polished than the first in the series. The character development was good. I didn't feel there was a rush to the ending. Would have liked a little more involvement with caiti and Tom from the first book. Loved the animals feAtured.
My first book set in Australia. Loved the characters. Wanted to slap Richard many times. Was so happy when Katrina finally realized what she truly wanted in her life. As for Terry I want more. To really understand why he would let such a rumor continue for so long. I loved all the animals and the long rides. Blue made me hug Sebastian and love him more, a ruby King Charles.
Katrina comes to Willow to help her sister Lora fix her salon and deciders to open a gym. Terry the local part-time handyman, horse trainer comes to help her fix up her gym. They become friends, but ius love in the air.
I loved this book set in Australia! Wonderful characters, good story, the friendship between the sisters - and romance. A perfect combination! I really enjoyed the author's way of writing.
