This book was born from a heart that has been broken by the loss of two of Clara Hinton's sons. It is her belief that hearts broken by the loss of a child will always have a void, and there will forever be a longing ache for the child that is no longer here. But, we can and must learn to live in our brokenness. Deep within our hearts are seeds of hope. When we nurture those seeds we will learn how to see life with eyes of love once again. It is Clara's sincere hope and prayer that as you read Child The Heartbreak and the Hope your heart will be warmed and you will be able to see life from a new perspective that moves far beyond the heartbreak of child loss into the light of hope. She wants to thank you for walking through this journey of loss with her. As we rewrite our story from within our brokenness, may our story be one of courage and hope! This book is a must-have for anyone who has experienced the loss of a child. It is a practical guide for reentering life after loss and will most assuredly plant seeds of hope within your broken heart.
Absolutely the second best book about grief and child loss. The first one being the Bible.
The grief journey is so very difficult to grasp. Ms. Hinton's book is a treasure. I recommend it highly to all mother's who have experienced this trauma. I read it in one sitting and know I will read it many more times. Thank you Clara, for the hope infused in the book pages.
I found the words within these pages to be both healing and inspirational. I lost my son to suicide just over a year ago. I find the frankness of the authors experiences to be both refreshing and much desired. This one will be a reference and a comfort to me every time I read it. I assume that will be often.
I picked this book as it was on the suggested reading list from a bereavement charity.
The author puts into words very well exactly how I'm feeling/have felt about this experience so far and gives lots of useful and actionable advice on how to cope and move forwards out of the fog of grief.
This book resonated with me. I'm addition to discussing the grief due to child loss, the author also discusses hope. The hope necessary to piece your life back together in some fashion although you will never regain your previous life. It is not a long book and you could easily read in one sitting. There is a Christian aspect to the book which I appreciated.
