Nothing about love lasts forever. I’m no longer the same girl that looks at love like it’s rainbows and cotton candy. The shit hurts. It’s dark and messy as hell. I can’t allow that type of energy in my life. The four, pink walls that shield my heart are made of steel. I promised myself after Tyriek that I would never let love in again, but here that son of a bitch is banging on my heart’s door trying to push its way in. So I lay here, smoking a blunt, asking myself: Chyna, does your heart have room for one more?
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Keisha Ervin is a prolific writer and devoted mother. Her success has drawn much deserved attention to herself and her hometown. She is the author of the National Best-Sellers Chyna Black, Me & My Boyfriend, Mina's Joint and Hold U Down, as well as the novel Torn and the short story After the Storm, featured in the Street Love anthology.
Chyna Black series was so good that I hate it will be ending soon. I really saw myself at times in Chyna for being distracted or blinded by love and not being able to focus. Procrastinating on finishing her books and staying on her grind. And then she wakes up from the mess she’s made of being with a loser way too long and not putting herself first and to stop giving her body away at the drop of a hat to satisfy her inner diva because doing that, you will never feel like a winner when you really sit down and do the one on one with yourself. I’m getting ready to read the last book in the Chyna series “Such a fuckin lady” and I pray that in her last book that she finds the true love that she deserves. I recommend this series. I’m now one of Keisha Ervin’s biggest fans and will be purchasing everything she writes
When the book first started Chyna was on her Nola Darling mission! I am so glad that she didn’t keep this behavior up throughout the entire book because I cannot handle a book full of one night stands. However, after the conclusion of a long toxic relationship I understand why Chyna adopted the mindset of not getting close to anyone else. But Carlos came and changed all of that!!!I definitely enjoyed that Keisha Ervin allowed a rewrite of history for Chyna during this book. It is evident that she has grown and knows her worth in this book. I cannot wait to meet the man who will be her husband!
Chyna Is Pissing Me Off Cuz She Fall In Love With Men She Don't Know NOTHING About, And Then She Feels Sorry For Herself And Be Straight Looking Stupid.....But The Situation With Carlos Was Not All Her Fault, Cuz He DEFINITELY Played His Part B4 Things Got To Bad(feelings) Involved On Either One's Part(hit & smash) Don't Always Work In Chyna's Case She Just Need To Be By Herself..... PERIOD 💯💞💯
This book was extremely funny. I love Keisha Ervin books. The characters are relatable and you either have been through some of the situations in this book or know someone that has. It’s real life. I do hate how Chyna always flies off the handle, she very impulsive. I know many women like that. No wonder she can’t keep a man. She needs to grow up and communicate her feelings like an adult.
Really enjoyed this read. Chyna has become one of my favorite characters in a novel. Strong and confident, yet vernable and soft. Oh, and I want her clothes!!
I always felt a connection to the Chyna Black character. I assumed it was because we shared the same name. (My Nick name it Chyna black) Who knew her life would be so close to mine. This is an amazing story. Can't wait to indulge in part 4
I see the growth and the pain and I honestly have to keep reading. I feel like Keisha is looking through my past in 1996 and she’s writing most of my story. Jesus be a dense because I hope this has a happier ending than I had.
The first 15 pages of this book is what drew me in. Chyna was off the hook. I liked her one minute and hated her the next. Some of the things she did had me flabbergasted. I was shaking my head and cursing her out but was happy to see her get it together towards the end.
Poor Chyna needs to get some serious therapy. That poor child just can't get right and has the worst luck with men. I sure hope we see little more growth in the next book.
I CANT WRITE TOO MUCH OR I MIGHT GIVE SOMETHING AWAY OMG I FINALLY GOT TO READ THIS BOOK . . . I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF SEQUELS AND BUT THE 3RD INSTALLMENT OF THE CHYNA BLACK SERIES WAS GOOD. EVEN THOUGH I HATE THAT THE AUTHOR MADE A SEQUEL TO THE BOOK THAT ALREADY HAD A HAPPY ENDING IM GLAD I READ THE 2ND AND THE 3RD ONE I LIKE THIS ONE MORE BETTER THAN THE 2ND ONE ! ! ! COME ON WITH IT KEISHA !!!! THE 3RD BOOK BETTER BE THE ENDING THOUGH . . . eta:the 3rd part of this series dropped today so I gotta read that one too
Ms. Keisha Ervin you have done it yet again! Left me with my mouth wide open! That book was absolutely everything and I can't wait until the next book drops, honey I need the tea! How long will I have to live in limbo? Do NOT make me stalk you for a release date lol. I am just a huge fan of you and all of your work. There is nothing you can do to disappoint me honey I've been rocking since the Triple Crown days and I'm still here
Okay, so this story was okay. Like on the low end of ok. It felt typical. I understand that this is a play on the author's real life, but I felt like I was reading a Sweet Valley High story. It felt really juvenile, even the language between the so-called adults. I just wish there was more to it. By book 3, this story should be juicy, but it's not. It's predictable. I still love this author, but this is not one of my favorites.
The love affair between the 1 was incredible. I fell so in love with Carlos. Hoping Keisha will continue on with this story. I need more of Carlos in my life.
