When a man sees his lover disappear before his very eyes—fade away, vanish without a trace—it’s a safe bet to assume someone is going to think he murdered her.
Max Thorn wants to know two things—how and why. But as reports of other strange vanishings reach the press, his flight from the law turns into a quest for answers.
And because these events were set into motion years ago, Max will soon realize that not only is he running out of time but so is all of humankind.
This was an interesting story about a vet whose wife disappears right before his eyes, a teen who can talk to animals and read people. The characters were well written and most of the plot is okay until the author starts to finish the book and the whole thing becomes a special effects nightmare and really didn't understand what happened in the end. Good writer, strange story that would have worked better as a science fiction movie.
Clearing out my bookshelves and pulled this one to read. Interesting concept with the black voids and how people can reappear but there were parts of this story where I'm still not sure what happened.
The book started out with a real promise of being a great book, but about midway through and began to drag. The book was 80 pages or more too long. It was a little strange.
