When car trouble coupled with a snowstorm strands med student Ellie Bradford in a Texas city on her way to visit her sister in New York for the holidays, a chance encounter with the handsome and intimidating owner of her hotel and a brush with danger reawakens old ghosts about a childhood incident that has haunted her for years. Ellie is sure she's never met him, so why does he insist that she seems so familiar?
Part of a series of standalone steamy romance short stories/novelettes chronicling the first forays of humans into the secret world of the vampires that live in plain sight within various cities. It contains strong adult content and language.
New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author I live in West-Central Texas with my crazy cat and about a dozen bookcases full of fantasy worlds and steamy romances. I also have a degree in Computer Science which totally qualifies me to write romances. Fantasy is my first love, and if I can inject a little love into the fantastical, along with a few steamy scenes, then all the better.
Ellie was attacked one night as a child. She remembers her attacker having fangs. Everyone else thought it was the trauma of the event. As an adult, she gets stranded, and has checks into a hotel. Val, the owner, feels she looks familiar. This was just okay. I would have liked to see the relationship remain platonic and friendly between Val and Ellie. I didn't believe or really like the romance. And he fixes something as a favor to her; how is Ellie going to explain away a feature she has had since she was attacked? That wasn't explained.
Really enjoyed Val and Ellie's story. It was a quick, heart warming tale about meeting up with your destiny. And it was Christmas too. Can't wait to see how their relationship continues to develop.
