Gee Martin is a struggling author. His girlfriend, Georgia Love, is a lead teacher at a daycare center. She dreams of the day when he can provide her with all the finer things in life. The designer clothes, the nice house, and the fancy car.
After being turned down by several publishing companies, Gee finally lands the contract he has been waiting for. However, before he can give Georgia the big news she has already decided to upgrade to a newer model with more perks.
Will Georgia learn that the grass is not always greener on the other side or will her desire for the materialistic things in life cost her the love of a lifetime?
Lesson learned.. Fabulous! Loved the way this story was told! I felt in the beginning Georgia was not going to be my fav character & her actions proved me right! This was a well written story that came with a message. Georgia learned the hard way that patience is a virtue. Attention grabbing storyline made this a great read I truly enjoyed!
Man, Georgia is the kind of chick that you just hope nothing good comes her way. I can't stand her trickin' ass. She might as well be a prostitute. The way she did Gee was low down. Dude loved her with everything he had at one point. I'm glad he didn't tell her that he was about to BLOW THE HELL UP when he left. She was so caught up in chasing the dollars that she thought Israel had, that she walked out on real love. She loved Gee but materialistic things were more important to her. Israel thought that he was getting a dime, but he soon saw what she was really about. I didn't feel sorry for his punk ass. He went about it the wrong way when he pursued her. He deserved to get played. That ending was GREAT! I was so happy for Gee's success. I'm so looking forward to the finale. I hope that Georgia doesn't try to get in the way of Gee's happiness. If she does, I hope he squashes her like the bug she is. I have a feeling that she's going to try it. She really doesn't deserve to have a happy ending. Damn, I hate her ass!!! Great job Elle!
This was a very good read. Georgia really worked my last nerve with her materialistic self. She had the best thing ever right in front her face, but lost him due to her chasing the almighty dollar. Once she realized her mistake, it was too late. Gee deserved so much better than her. Elle I love the message that this book portrayed. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. I look forward to what is coming next.
I bet Georgia wished she wasn't chasing those upgrades!
I'm cracking up right now. Georgia let her need for materialistic things cause her not to have any happiness. I couldn't even feel sorry for her because that heifer should've appreciated what she had. Instead of her having faith in her relationship with Gee she took things up a notch by being impatient as hell. My heart hurt for Gee because he was doing everything in his power to keep Georgia happy and she still wasn't satisfied. Thank God he never let her know things were looking up for him. Israel was cool as well and like a fool did things to keep Georgia happy that eventually backfired. Georgia expected too much but when Brazille checked her ass I was too happy. She had to learn the hard way that being a kept woman wasn't all she thought it would be. August was crazy and Emerson was just a means to an end. Georgia should've listened to everyone concerning Gee but I'll be damn if Tameiko didn't help her realize her mistake. Bring on part 2 Elle because Georgia is realizing the hard way that being upgraded isn't all that she thought it would be and patience is truly a virtue.
Georgia Love is a woman who is all about self. She has been with her boyfriend Gee since HS and now that everything is not panning out with his career as SHE thinks it should, she is getting antsy because the cash isn't flowing. Israel has been trying to get with her since the day he met her but she kept turning him down because of her loyalty to Gee. Georgia let her need for materialistic things cause her not to have any happiness. One thing leads to another and she ends up with Israel chasing a dream. Her friend Ivorii and her family kept telling her she was making a big mistake but she wouldn't listen. In the end, her love for material things cost her true love and companionship. But when she finally meets this new author that she can't get enough of, she can't take it. Can't wait for part two to see how everything turns out for Georgia Love.
What a great read. You never let us down! That darn Georgia, I couldn't stand her! Georgia gold digging self, got exactly what she deserved. I felt sorry for Gee and the way he was played but, he came out on top. Georgia was so materialistic I bet now, she realizes the grass isn't always green on the other side. Every time she realized she messed up, it was entirely to late. She needs to end up alone and totally miserable. I'm glad Tamara didn't cut up to bad because, all Tamara's are extra sweet and loving. I figured if Tamara acted out, down the line we would have found out that, it was an alias name being used by her. Lol. I can't wait for part 2.
First of all let me just say i absolutely HATE Georgia with a passion right now. Like really she didn't have to do Gee like that. I'm glad that she miserable and now realizes she messed up something good. Money can't buy happiness boo. Hell even Israel was good to her although i don't agree with how they got together. The play though...idk why but i was shedding tears of joy when Tameiko started talking about their history. I am so happy for them! Now let's see if she can get it together in part 2. Anywho you never disappoint. What can't you write about? Lol...Great Job boo!!
Well this wasn't one of my favorites by elle welch. I've been waiting for this to come out for a little while now. It seemed very rushed and short. I was thinking I had at least an hour or so left to read in the book and bam, it ends suddenly! Sorry I didn't like this one at all, but I'm still a fan of her books.
Georgia was a gold digger. Gee was her man that loved her. She used Israel for the material things she couldn't get with Gee. If Georgia had been patient with Gee she would have lived happily ever after. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I highly recommend this book.
It's a shame that so many women like Georgia exist. Instead of standing on their own two feet they look for someone else to provide for them. this poor child has shunned love for materialist possessions. That's how it goes though. She truly sees that the grass was not greener on the other side.
That Georgia Love had me ready to strangle her. All she had to do was be patient and not greedy. She finally got what she was searching for, but she didn't get the outcome she expected. Good for her gold digging ass for running behind the almighty dollar.
That is exactly what she get. She too busy trying to find a man that should take care of her materialistic needs instead of getting it for herself. Smh this girl lost her mind.
GREAT READ...GEORGIA LOVE WAS A STRAIGHT GOLD DIGGER. IF SHE CANT GET WHAT SHE WANTS SHE MOVES ON TO THE NEXT MAN. SHE WAS NOT PATIENT ENOUGH AND SHE MISSED OUT ON A GOOD MAN. THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE. READY TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. MUST READ
This story was so good! what made it even better is this happens everyday! Georgia got exactly what she deserved and I can't wait to see what's in store for her in part 2!
