She couldn’t fall in love with a criminal… Miller had trust issues. And abandonment issues. Hell, sometimes it felt like her issues had issues. She was tough, and she was resilient. But would she be tough enough to resist him? Rogan MacGuire. Gorgeous. Sexy. Protective And the head of the Cavan Gang. A criminal. He had no room in his life for an innocent… Rogan’s only interactions with the opposite sex were strictly restricted to the bedroom. As the head of a powerful gang, he couldn’t afford to let anyone too close. He couldn’t afford to love anyone. Not when they could be used to hurt him.
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
After finishing Sinfully Yours, Sir I had to immediately read this one since Rogan had me really curious. I enjoyed it for the most part. I wish they hadn't danced around each other so long, and I wish Rogan had been dirtier in the sex department, but it had A LOT of interesting side characters.
I would love to see the head of the Russian mob get a book as well as the head of the Seventh Sinners (?) So many characters that I would love to read about.
How did i not read this sooner?? What was i thinking?? Better said, why wasn’t i thinking?? Because it was a delicious story!! With a strong loveable heroine, called Miller. And a criminally delicious hero, called Rogan. Who try to resist the pull, but fail spectacularly…. Because love was sneaking up to them, and filled their hearts when they weren’t looking. With enough suspense and danger to make the story,as well as the happy after, even better.
And….as a bonus,it had the introduction of the heroine,Sofia, and the hero,Colm,of the next story that’s coming in Februari, called Rebellion.
It appears like it took me a minute to return to the Cavan Gang, but then I found myself unable to leave. There’s so much to love about these characters, and who would have thought we’d end up rooting for the bad guy? Rogan reluctantly took over as the head of the Cavan Gang after both his father and his friend were eliminated. He’s a tough man with a heart and a strong sense of loyalty.
Miller has faced her tragedies that led her to rehab. Rogan knew he couldn't get involved with anyone who could be turned into a weapon against him by his enemies, yet he couldn’t let her roam the streets when she was released. Their relationship is filled with tangled emotions that neither addresses nor wants to acknowledge.
Additionally, there’s the mystery of Miller trying to uncover who was responsible for her mother’s death. The drama and adventure take off when you introduce the Russian Bratva and the Seven Sinners Gang. Now, I’m moving on to 'Rebellion,' which features Callum and Sophia’s story.
Honestly, I absolutely love Rogan, and at first, I wanted to hate Miller—but I just couldn’t. When we first met her, she made some bad decisions, and it was easy to judge her for them. But once I learned her reasoning and the fact that she truly had no other choice, it became impossible not to love her. She was dealt a raw hand from the very beginning. With a father who was in and out of her life, a mother who abandoned her at an early age and then passed away, Miller never really had a fair chance.
Rogan, on the other hand, made a difficult choice years ago—one that kept his friends free from a life he never wanted them to be part of. Now, as the leader of the very people he never wanted to lead, he’s convinced he can’t bring someone else into his dangerous world. But Miller, ever resilient, points out that she’s already a part of his life, whether he wants to admit it or not. Realizing she would be safer by his side than anywhere else, Rogan takes the opportunity to claim what was already his.
I absolutely loved their story. It was one I had been waiting for since we were first introduced to them in another one of Laylah’s series, and it did not disappoint. Their journey was emotional, intense, and worth every moment.
Steamy story of Miller and Rogan. Rogan is the leader of the Irish Cavan Gang who saved Miller from the Viper Gang. Miller was trying to find out who killed her mother. While recovering from her ordeal, she is staying with Rogan. They fight their attraction to each other. Both are fiercely independent and Rogan doesn’t feel he can offer a commitment to anyone because of his lifestyle. As Miller finds herself in trouble, Rogan saves her and realizes he cannot live without her. The plot is well-written, fast-paced and totally hot! Looking forward to the next book in the series!
No plot spoilers No real potential triggers There are some grammatical and editorial errors The characterisation is strong with individual personalities that are well crafted and allow the reader to form a connection. The plotline is good, engaging and well thought out. There are a couple of sex scenes and some swearing. If you are a fan of the genre you would probably enjoy the book. Unlike other books by the author this book is not BDSM based.
Rogan and Miller at first don't appear to have anything in common except that both of their fathers were crooks. But the fathers are at different extremes in criminal activity. So how do they fall in love admit kidnapping and threats.
Was looking forward to Rogan's story - you know he has all sorts of secrets! Miller's addiction and her treatment play a huge role in his protectiveness and her determination to not be a burden made for some lighter moments
I have loved all of Ms. Roberts' books that I gave read! The Cavan Gang series is no exception. I enjoyed finding out how Rogan and Miller got together. Looking forward to the next book.
Love Rogan and Miller’s story!! Perfect for each other doesn’t even touch how well matched they are!! Both with demons form their past and trust issues aside, they’re passion and love just steams off the page! Hot stuff!!!
Dirty, funny, sexy, breathtaking and so so so well written. I can see the story unfold in front of my eyes while reading. The events keep coming so you don't want to put the book down out of curiosity.
Rogan is a badass with a heart of gold. He's smart, strong, hardworking and a true leader. He loves hard and keeps them safe. He knows that Miller is special and he doesn't want to open his heart because his world is full of danger.
Miller tries to stay strong and keep her distance from Rogan. She knows that he has a lot of responsibility and that he is a wonderful person. She tries to make him smile. She's very protective of him and loves to feed him and bring him out his hard shell.
This story teaches us that if you truly believe and accept a person nothing can keep you apart. Miller and Rogan are perfect for each other. Their love is magical
Loved Miller and Rogan...I felt for Miller, whos to blame her for having so may issues. And Rogan, he knew he couldn't afford to allow himself to fall in love, but he did. His life is complicated and dangerous enough, but he will do whatever it takes to protect those around him. He's sexy, moody, dangerous, loyal....he lives hard and loves even harder....loved this
I am so happy Rogan got his story! And what a wonderful story it is! I don't want to spoil it for anyone but oh my, it's so steamy! A story full of danger, suspense, adventure and a romance to die for. Don't miss this and if you haven't read book one, what are you waiting for? I can't wait for book three!!
Miller tried to infiltrate the gang to find out who killed her mother – when they get her hooked she makes a last ditch effort and calls Tilly who gets Rogan to help find her. He sets her up in re-hab and then moves her into his house after that; they are both looking for something neither one has had, can Rogan let go and let Miller into his life, can she get past the cravings …..
