Lisa Brenninkmeyer is the founder and chief purpose officer of Walking with Purpose. A convert to Catholicism, Lisa created her first Bible study in 2002 out of a desire to see Catholic women come to know Christ personally. In 2008, Walking with Purpose became a fully independent non-profit organization with 501c(3) status and a mission of helping every Catholic woman and girl in America to open her heart to Jesus Christ. Today, over 40,000 women, young women and middle school girls participate in WWP Bible studies in 44 states.
Lisa has authored 16 Walking with Purpose Bible studies which have received the Imprimatur through Archbishop Lori of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Her first book, Walking with Purpose: Seven Priorities that Make Life Work, is a popular title published by Beacon Publishing for the Dynamic Catholic Institute.
In 2012, Lisa was recognized by the Catholic Leadership Institute as a National Catholic Leader, and in 2014 and 2015, she was invited to present at the Amazing Parish Program’s national conferences. Lisa was also a presenter at the USCCB Convocation of Catholic Leaders in July 2017, and a speaker at two Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) national events in 2018 and 2019. Lisa has been a guest on a number of radio, television and podcast shows as well.
Lisa holds a B.A. in psychology from St. Olaf College. She and her husband Leo (pronounced Lay-o) have seven children and reside in St. Augustine, Florida.
This was a very relatable study and of course the small group discussions add a ton! Some weeks were better than others, and I felt like there was a lot of repeat from previous studies. But I did grow a lot in my spiritual life through this study and feel it would be beneficial to any Catholic woman wanting to grow in her faith life.
This Bible study contains much practical discussion, supported by many Scripture references. Some lessons are more clear and accessible than others, but all offer food for thought and fodder for discussion.
I really missed the saint's stories from the previous book and I did not enjoy the bible verse exercise and stopped doing them. I think the content is very revelant and helpful but get tired of reguritating the previous paragragh as an answer to a question... like being in elementary school again.
It was good however I think it jumped all over the place too much. I think I prefer the bi le studies that focus on one book at a time much more. They are better structured and you learn more. (All except for the Ephesians bible study)
Amazing...for any woman who desires balance in her daily life and wonders how the Scriptures can help her. Get the book, find a group in your area to read and discuss it with!
A beautiful and fruitful bible study done with a table full of seasoned, sage and lovely women of all ages. This book stretched and grew me, week by week. Highly recommend!
This is a longer Catholic women's Bible study, and it is well done. At first, some of us older women thought that this study was better geared towards younger career women and busy moms. But the later chapters were excellent resources for women of any age. There were a few chapters that were very emotional and helpful. Recommended.
